What sort of people do you envy?

Because I’ve just realised I really envy people who don’t feel the cold! (Recalling a day this week when I stood shivering in a train station, wrapped in about seven layers, chatting to a glamorous acquaintance who was perfectly at ease in a long sleeved dress.)

Excluded qualities:

Family & relationships. Children. Wealth. Good looks. Because otherwise the thread would be pointless.

(Do I really need to add lighthearted to the title? Hmm )

Academic people (straight As in GSCE/a Level, 1st class degree)
Colleagues who network seamlessly
People with big houses and two bathrooms
People with a financial cushion- Savings, investments, forthcoming inheritance
People who can talk politics
People with great general knowledge (I am crap at quizzes)
People who can afford several holidays a year

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 13/03/2022 15:16

Tall slim willow types. I'm short and chunky

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 13/03/2022 15:18

I have great hair that air dries and looks good! I do appreciate it

cushioncovers · 13/03/2022 15:21

I envy people who don't suffer from mental health issues and people who can eat whatever they want with gaining weight.

Blackcountryexile · 13/03/2022 15:31

Joining those who envy people who can maintain a healthy weight.
Women with thick, neat, shiny hair.Mine is the exact opposite.
Anyone for whom tidiness comes naturally.
People who have a knack for interior design.
People who can park effortlessly.

dipdye · 13/03/2022 15:32

People who pick up languages easy.

dipdye · 13/03/2022 15:33

*easily

And folk with home decor skills. I am utterly useless at home decor

Whelmed · 13/03/2022 15:40

I envy people who can just get up and speak in front of others without any fear or even preparation. Even the thought gives me awful anxiety. I strive to be such a person one day and I'm closer to it in a sense that I'm ok speaking in a small group of people if I'm not the "main attraction" iykwim. Previously I couldn't even do that!

MistyElla · 13/03/2022 15:51

People who are socially graceful. They know just what to say or do in a given situation and never do or say anything cringeworthy. I have not been blessed with such grace. 😕

SilkenBunny · 13/03/2022 15:52

Any woman who can sleep soundly, orgasm easily and who has great hair Envy

SquarePegInACircularHole · 13/03/2022 15:52

Women with decent sized boobs not fried eggs or massive watermelons. Just in between size with a good shape and a nice cleavage.

Bouncy hair that doesn’t go limp within 5 minutes after spending an hour trying to give it some body.

People with normal feet who can wear heels and who don’t have massive bunions and have to grate them every few days to stop them cracking and bleeding.

People with willpower and self discipline.

Gardeningcreature · 13/03/2022 15:58

Those with high metabolism
Those who are naturally flexibke, I have to work hard at this and I do.
Those with a good sense of direction, my sense of direction is so bad that it limits where I drive to. I cannot remember how to get from A to B. If a road is closed I absolutely cannot visualise an alternative route. I cannot drive anywhere without first planning where I will park and having alternative parking set up in case the first choice is full.

jamandmarmaladeoncrumpets · 13/03/2022 16:33

people who don't get migraines/endo

people with naturally lovely teeth

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 13/03/2022 16:54

People who don't have mobility issues and can just go out and walk and be ok

dementedma · 13/03/2022 17:02

People who look groomed
People who enjoy exercise.

I am neither

flashpaper · 13/03/2022 17:16

Loads of people:

People who are slim.
People who are chilled out and don't worry.
People who don't cry at the drop of a hat.
People who love their job.

DemBonesDemBones · 13/03/2022 17:18

People with good health.

MakkaPakkas · 13/03/2022 17:23

People who easily remember names and faces. I'm awful at this and it makes me anxious and is also a handicap in my job

MakkaPakkas · 13/03/2022 17:29

@AnIconOfImperfections

The thick of skin. Those people who don’t care what people think of them. They don’t analyse conversations and wouldn’t think twice if someone didn’t reply to say a text or an email; they aren’t sensitive at all. Whereas I would think ‘that person hates me, they couldn’t even be arsed to reply’, the thick skinned would simply think that person missed the message, or they have been too busy to respond.

They always think people only think good things about them, even when they don’t! I have a friend like this. She has no self awareness and can be a cheeky fucker but she always thinks people think the best of her. The consequence of this is that she has great self esteem! I see the tiny nuances and flicker of disapproval in People’s faces. She doesn’t and just gets on with her day. Must be amazing !

Are you sure you are her friend? 😂 I'm a bit like this in that a lot of social stuff goes over my head, but when I do know/notice that someone is upset with me I hate it, I never want to upset anyone.
XenoBitch · 13/03/2022 17:30

People who are in a job that they love.

PurpleDaisy2114 · 13/03/2022 17:32

Thin people
Confident people

PurpleDaisy2114 · 13/03/2022 17:33

Extroverts

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 13/03/2022 17:34

Those utter weirdos who don't mind or even like housework. I loathe it with the power of a thousand suns, but I also don't want to live in a dirty, messy house, so it gets done in a fury of miserable resentment.

StorminaBcup · 13/03/2022 17:45

People who’s hands / fingers still function and don’t turn white when there’s a change in temperature. The joys of being able to unlock a door in winter with ease is unimaginable Grin

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 13/03/2022 17:47

Oh, but I am extremely good at public speaking. It doesn't phase me at all, and I can come up with a few witty, off-the-cuff remarks at a moment's notice.

And I don't blush, ever - I feel my face "heat up" when embarrassed but it never result in flushed skin. I'm pretty bloodless generally.
