Bring your favourite flops/shoulda been hits to a new audience Smile The only rule is, they cannot have made the UK Top 40.

My first choice - Humpe and Humpe, ‘Careless Love’. The duo changed their name to Swimming With Sharks (the name of their album) in the UK, for fairly obvious reasons Grin

I love "I'm too scared" by Steven Dante. Can't believe it's around 35 years old now. Still sounds fresh :)

Be Okay by Oh Honey

OldTinHat · 25/02/2022 18:43

Oh bugger, sorry, I think they did make hits. But hey, they're still very obscure tbf!

AlecTrevelyan006 · 25/02/2022 18:44

Julian Cope - the greatness and perfection of love

March 1984 Peaked at number 52 - should have been a huge hit

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 25/02/2022 18:44

Heartbeats by The Knife. A breathy version was released by a male singer, (remember that advert with all the balls rushing down the street?) but the original is far superior imho

OldTinHat · 25/02/2022 18:44

*scuttles off quietly...

Hammond Song by The Roches. My desert island song

Also Calling You from the Baghdad Cafe soundtrack

Temple head by Transglobal Underground (from Whirl-y-gig before Hoxton was trendy)

MrsTophamHat · 25/02/2022 18:50

Kiss The Rain, Billie Myers

NannyGythaOgg · 25/02/2022 18:53

Back Street Luv by Curved Air.

It was a hit in 1971, but they were a great group who had this one hit that I have never heard on the radio since, so it meets most of your criteria and is amazingly good.

TinaTurtle · 25/02/2022 18:57

Blue Army by So What (specifically, the jungle mix)

MK19590 · 25/02/2022 18:59

This we as totally going to be my pick. Thought I was the only one who played this song super loud in my bedroom ... but looked it up and found it got to number 4 in the UK charts.
