Bring your favourite flops/shoulda been hits to a new audience Smile The only rule is, they cannot have made the UK Top 40.

My first choice - Humpe and Humpe, ‘Careless Love’. The duo changed their name to Swimming With Sharks (the name of their album) in the UK, for fairly obvious reasons Grin

So good isn't it? @BudhaForMary. Even all these years later! I always wanted to be the blonde woman in the video of Big Area.

Artus · 25/02/2022 22:53

African Battle by Brownout. A recent discovery but apparently well known amongst those who know and like the genre

@LefttoherownDevizes

Hammond Song by The Roches. My desert island song

Also Calling You from the Baghdad Cafe soundtrack

Temple head by Transglobal Underground (from Whirl-y-gig before Hoxton was trendy)

Oh my the whirl-y-gig 😍 Did you go when it was at the dilapidated old Shoreditch town hall? I'd bloody love to go back there for a night!

I work in early years, I actually play that track when we have the parachute out and the children in my class lay underneath and relax! They absolutely love it!

DrMaryMalone · 25/02/2022 22:59

Saturday Night by Natalia Kills

And slightly more well known Independent Love Song by Scarlet

HailAdrian · 25/02/2022 23:03

Up the Junction by Squeeze.
Some of the rhyming is interesting but it’s perfect storytelling. I remember the first time I heard it while very hungover, and it’s stayed a favourite ever since.

HappyTalk2222 · 25/02/2022 23:07

What a tune @HeartshapedFox!

So good. Then Jericho did a gig in our town when it came out and my parents wouldn't let me go!

I bow to noone in my appreciation of 'Up the Junction' but it went to number 2 according to Wikipedia so not exactly obscure.
