Threads you remember with fondness for being utterly batshit

The one that always gets me is the one where a woman gets angry with some builders and yelled 'Willy Willy Willy' at them
Also didn't see this delight at the time but have since learnt about it was the Sistine screamer- I could die laughing thinking about that one
What are your best threads for comedy value?

OP posts:

People who haven't seen the Sinister Easter Bonnet (linked upthread) the pics are no longer visible on the thread, so here it is

Ooh I had no idea other categories other than 30 days only deleted after a certain time. I often go looking for threads and can't find them now I know why

BashfulClam · 19/02/2022 14:58

I liked the one where OP and her DH went to MIL’s for dinner. Mil served penis portions which meant that OP was starving. They ended up getting fish and chips and eating it in the garden and MIL was horrified.

Dimensions3 · 19/02/2022 15:03

Mil served penis portions

They called them “penis portions” ?

Alphabet Street pissed everyone off because of making up the puddle thread at the same time. Alphabet would probably have stood if it wasn't for the made up serious thread at the same time.

Miffed at her name change f-up as it was amusing Grin

Oh now that is brilliant. I would have given the child wearing that first prize
YouMuckyDuck · 19/02/2022 15:15

There is a brilliant one in classics about clothes you buy hoping to look gorgeous and what you look like in reality

What was Alphabet Street??

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Thickos on Tripadvisor! It still makes me weep with laughter.

The one where the OP was seeking help on how to exclude old age pensioners from her wedding. It turned out to be a satire on the many threads about child-free weddings, but it took a few posts to catch on to that. It was very funny and clever. There was something in there about taking the OAPs on a bus to see The Lion King as an alternative to attending the wedding reception.

It's yukky but hilarious.

SenecaFallsRedux · 19/02/2022 15:39

I found the thread. Correction to my earlier post: the OP had been invited to an OAP-free wedding, but wanted to take her mother.

"Also, she has seen The Lion King already." Grin

Was that the one where someone said she looked like Suzi Quatro's fat nan?

Your minge with Angela Hernandez, balonz, penguins at the zoo blind date. All good stuff!

The four horsemen of the apocalypse wedding thread

Oh yes I remember that one

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/02/2022 16:04

What's the Angela Hernandez thread?

Threads in Chat used to be deleted after 90 days automatically, so a lot of gems will have disappeared over the years, except for a few which made it into Classics. Can't remember when that changed.

I just never got why anyone found this funny, but it always comes up on these threads. I still don't get it
chocolateorangeinhaler · 19/02/2022 16:24

So what was the jist of the Angela Hernandez story. I've searched and never found it. But it's one of those that people know about and quote all the time. I'm dying to know.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/02/2022 16:26

Others who have resided in this parish longer than I will be able to verify, but as far as I can gather, there was the 30 Days Only category (Ronseal name), Chat (which auto-deleted after 90 days) and, I think, all of the rest which stood in perpetuity.

It was because so many gems were falling off the Chat archive precipice after three months that MN changed it so that Chat threads would remain permanently, but then also introduced the new 90 Days Only category, which could be used by people who specifically DID want their threads to be live for more than one month, but disappear after three months.

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 19/02/2022 16:30

Angela Hernandez (presumably not the realtime!) thread...a woman was at a work conference or something, and instead of introducing herself by her own name, she introduced herself to someone using that persons name instead of her own. (sorry, my typo in my original thread made it sound like Angela Hernandez and your minge were one thread, but they're 2 separate ones!)

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/02/2022 16:32

This is the first of the three Alphabet Street threads!

Better description of the Angela Hernandez one:

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/02/2022 16:35

I can't find the original Angela Hernandez thread, if indeed it still survives. Searching for it only brings up 20 billion threads where people later refer back to it!

However, am I right in thinking that OP later had all of her posts on her own thread deleted, meaning that you could still see all of the responses from everybody else, but without any context whatsoever of what they were responding to?!?!
