Threads you remember with fondness for being utterly batshit

The one that always gets me is the one where a woman gets angry with some builders and yelled 'Willy Willy Willy' at them
Also didn't see this delight at the time but have since learnt about it was the Sistine screamer- I could die laughing thinking about that one
What are your best threads for comedy value?

OP posts:
Hyenaormeercat · 19/02/2022 19:50

The one where someone described themselves as looking like a sturdy toddler dressed by their dad...that comment alone had me in giggles..

ApocalypseNowt · 19/02/2022 20:00

I'm very fond of the fashionistas in the taxi queue one Grin

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 19/02/2022 20:06

@YouMuckyDuck

There is a brilliant one in classics about clothes you buy hoping to look gorgeous and what you look like in reality
Omg I remember that one so well! Need to find it again.

The woman who had the new hair cut and colour and realised she looked like a match 🤣😂🤣

Hyenaormeercat · 19/02/2022 20:09

That's the one I think...she thought she would look good...

wizzler · 19/02/2022 20:13

There is a classic thread where the Dc come back from a weekend with her exh and he has fed them badger . Poster asked if it was on the sett menu !

Beachbreak2411 · 19/02/2022 20:45

Penis beaker and Maui

Beachbreak2411 · 19/02/2022 20:46

@MissConductUS

Mexican house thief was one of the first threads I read on MN and I've been hooked ever since.
Oh I forgot about this one!!! It kept me giggling through night feeds 😂
Lookingoutside · 19/02/2022 21:00

Willy willy willy. Silently shaking and crying in bed by myself 🤣🤣🤣

Sistine screamer and snapped and farted. Especially snapped and farted.

Sherrystrull · 19/02/2022 21:35

The super soaker one is one I love. The woman was crazy and didn't listen to anyone who disagreed with her.

BlondeWidow · 19/02/2022 22:02
@buddhasbelly that genuinely made me laugh out loud - possibly as I am a weirdo that loves people watching and imagines weird and wonderful back stories for folk Grin also I've had a lot of wine tonight

Lube and a fish slice.

One of the 1st threads I read and still makes me smile as again that's TOTALLY. Something I would do. An ex flatmate and I ruined a carpet in our flat and managed by sheer luck to find in a local carpet shop a sample that matched...except the carpet in the flat was BOGGING so to make the sample match to disguise the fact we were replacing a square to hide the damage we spent a weekend (yes really!) trying all kinds of things to "age" it - coffee grounds, potted plant soil...

Bonkers!

Thread about sharks being horrible.

Are you sure that wasn't the dolphins plotting the downfall of humans one?
When you say 'bogging' do you mean soaked?

Ickiness · 19/02/2022 22:06

What about “boil in the vag” curry?

BlondeWidow · 19/02/2022 22:06

@amusedbush

I don’t think the t-rexing in Asda thread is funny at all, probably because I understood the OP perfectly. I’m autistic and t-rex arms are totally normal in the ND community, so what the OP described made total sense to me!

Okay, I’m finished being a killjoy Blush my favourites:

 • Angela Hernandez
 • the man who whispered ‘penetration’ every time they had sex
 • the woman who asked for advice about a pram, then a year later accidentally replied to her own thread recommending it
 • he has eaten a fat ball
 • ‘your minge!’
Yes it was typical MN disability mocking and don't anyone dare say anything about it or you're the one in the wrong! Posters are CONSISTENTLY mocking OP's who are very blatantly and obviously ND but it's allowed to stand by MNHQ because of faux ignorance 🤷🏼‍♀️

In fact I once stepped in on another thread by that same poster as the T-Rex one. I said that the OP could possibly have learning disabilities/Autism so perhaps people could think before they type (as there was some really nasty shite being said on that thread) and what happened? I got a warning from MNHQ for "Disablism!!!!!"
LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 19/02/2022 22:16

Bogging in Scottish slang means disgusting/filthy.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 19/02/2022 22:28

Can anyone find the clothing one? The one with Suzi Quattros fat nan? I am searching but unfortunately to no avail 😳

DropYourSword · 19/02/2022 22:49

@user26147

Scbchl
Snapped and farted

I just never got why anyone found this funny, but it always comes up on these threads. I still don't get it

Me too. When I first heard about it I hunted it down in eager anticipation of a good laugh. Sorely disappointed. I usually love a mumsnet "classic" but just didn't find this at all funny.

This one? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/4138148-I-bought-a-white-coat-in-the-sales-to-look-like-Olivia-Pope-but-I-actually-resemble-a-middle-aged-taekwando-instructor?msgid=104005514
TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 19/02/2022 22:57

@MrsReeves

That wasn't it but luckily I found the link to the one I meant in the thread you linked to!!

Totally worth a read, it's hilarious 😂😂

Anyone want to come and mourn the reality vs expectation of new purchases with me? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/3106919-Anyone-want-to-come-and-mourn-the-reality-vs-expectation-of-new-purchases-with-me

@jelly79

One where the OP was saving the opening of the jam for a special occasion.
You've reminded me I have new jam to try. Might make a piece of toast.

My funniest ones seem to be where whoever is writing the post makes an off the cuff remark that just sends me off. One I remember was a long and rambling story that started "one day, my friend who we'll call Louise (because that was her name)" and for some reason I just could not stop laughing.

Maybe I was drunk Grin

HoobleDooble · 19/02/2022 23:38

Fat ball was brilliant.
Lemon drizzle bitch.
Punching cakes in supermarkets.
The one where someone's neighbour was running a business from home and telling her customers they could park on OPs drive.
I can't remember the details but wasn't there one where someone wanted to extend their house into the access path between their house and their neighbours' and thought their neighbour should just accept it?
The 'weird things my body does' thread (javelin arse).

WildRosie · 19/02/2022 23:42

The Banana Splits - American children's television show for those not around at the time. Definitely a reflection of its era. Potty.

WildRosie · 19/02/2022 23:43

Forget the above. It wasn't a thread but it was utterly barmy. It's been a long day.

mathanxiety · 20/02/2022 00:25

Twigs and pebbley shit - it's in Classics I believe.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 20/02/2022 02:00

That reminds me of the post on a CF thread, where the poster's NDN (two semis, iirc) 'informed' her that her builder would be popping over and needing access to measure up as they were converting the loft into another bedroom (may have been two or three, actually) - the WHOLE loft, i.e. the combined attic space above BOTH houses.

When the poster told her that she was most definitely NOT permitted to extend her own house into their loft space, she was most put out about how very 'selfish' they were - as she had more children and so clearly 'needed' the space more than they did!!
