Threads you remember with fondness for being utterly batshit

The one that always gets me is the one where a woman gets angry with some builders and yelled 'Willy Willy Willy' at them
Also didn't see this delight at the time but have since learnt about it was the Sistine screamer- I could die laughing thinking about that one
What are your best threads for comedy value?

OP posts:
Pebbledashery · 19/02/2022 13:15

Mexican House thief one is one I will always remember with fondness.

liveforsummer · 19/02/2022 13:18

I always wondered why the dh in the Sistine chapel thread went to all these high emotion sites with the OP when he was already so weary of her behaviour 😆

BronwenFrideswide · 19/02/2022 13:18

Home made Hedgehog Birthday Cake one, OP's first attempt was a bit of a disaster, OP was a great sport and very depreciatingly funny it was a classic light hearted thread.

Dimensions3 · 19/02/2022 13:29

But does anyone also remember the thread about the next door neighbour who hung bin liners on her washing line and got really shitty with the OP when she asked her about it? That was nuts.

I remember this one, @ChameFangeNail

I don’t think anyone ever found out the reason for the hanging bin liners

Great one about Bob the neighbor who came out every time op and her dd did.

She built a fence And he built a platform to see over it.
Op was shredded because she didn't want to engage with Bob and sacrifice the enjoyment of her garden!!

james83 · 19/02/2022 13:34

Anyone remember "John learns to Adult"? It was about a very stupid man who had driven his wife to separate and divorce because he expected her to do the organising, make bookings etc. She stopped and watched him get everything wrong. The first pages were funny it then got rather serious as these things do but woman and sons triumphed eventually. So it was a good outcome.
Was it taken down or is it still somewhere.

midlifecrash · 19/02/2022 13:40

There was a thread a few years ago where the OP frequently made cakes and was incandescent with rage, because she’d made one “not up to her usual standard”, had left to cool before throwing and her husband had eaten it anyway. And he hadn’t even used a plate!

The responses… well you can imagine.

Sadly I don’t think it was preserved

Nidan2Sandan · 19/02/2022 13:58

I liked the one where a MNETTERS neighbour had asked her to stop hanging her washing on the line because then her husband could see it and she was worried about him being overcome at the sight of the neighbours undies

Swingsandroundabouts123 · 19/02/2022 14:12

One recently where a woman was sick of the time it was taking her DP to DIY their new bathroom. The latest fuck up was a leak in the newly-tiled shower which, he told her, could be accessed by removing the bricks from outside the house.

Some of the early covid threads were utterly insane. The one that stands out is the woman aghast that someone had gone to Tesco for TWO CUCUMBERS. Op did not seem 2 cucumbers as essential in any way

That was my thread! It was supposed to be a joke! It was supposed to be like what are the 2 cucumbers essential for nudge nudge. Unfortunately I posted it when I was pissed (yes I know it was in the afternoon, don’t judge!) forgot about it and when I came back to it people had taken it waaaaay too seriously. I’m so glad someone remembers it though!
Lalliella · 19/02/2022 14:31

@liveforsummer just thought I’d tag you so hopefully you’ll see - two cucumbers was a (admittedly not very funny) joke, honest!

Here's the FIL champagne one

Wasn't there another one involving a FIL and champagne? I seem to remember that OP accidentally broke an expensive (£100 or so) champagne glass whilst visiting; and extremely rich FIL never mentioned anything at the time, but later sent them an invoice for it!!

Also the OP who bought herself a can of her favourite special fizzy pop from the shop on the way to work every day, to enjoy cold with her lunch, but a colleague stole it from the fridge every single day. When confronted, the thieving colleague claimed that she 'needed' that specific drink, as she was pregnant, but apparently not enough to ensure she had one of her own. The truly bonkers part came when a number of people responded by genuinely suggesting that OP should 'just' buy two cans every day, so that pregnant colleague wouldn't 'need' to steal hers! As if an entitled CF suddenly becomes an innocent and specially-deserving charity case as soon as she happens to get pregnant!

Mnhq really need too get a grip on funny thread killers.
It's a support forum supposed to help each other And a good laugh makes us feel better???

Couldn't agree more. Trolls do it out of nastiness, to upset and deceive people. Funny made-up threads - or real ones that end up heavily embellished - hurt nobody and give us all a really good, well-needed laugh. One of my favourites was Alphabet Street, with the unfathomably batty Mrs B: "No gown, no glory!" Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/02/2022 14:38

@Tigersonvaseline
I think I must not have expressed myself very well because I'm entirely in agreement with you on this

liveforsummer · 19/02/2022 14:38

@Lalliella i had no idea that was a joke, there were so many similar at the time and tbf you sounded convincing 😆

Olympic horses thread. Sadly gone forever.

Crazycrazylady · 19/02/2022 14:41

For me it has to be the one about the lady complaining about adult men in the changing room being naked until she dropped in she was sitting quietly in the mens with her young sonConfused

liveforsummer · 19/02/2022 14:42

Olympic horses thread. Sadly gone forever.
Was that the one where the op couldn't imagine how they got to the other countries? Why did it get deleted?
WanJames · 19/02/2022 14:45

The four horsemen of the apocalypse wedding thread

NotQuiteNormalMe · 19/02/2022 14:46

If someone could find the thread where the op was flouncing because of the level of swearing on here and the first reply was 'off you fuck then cunty chops' I would be very grateful

poorbuthappy · 19/02/2022 14:48

Yes. It was a very enlightening thread! I cried laughing. I think it was in chat therefore deleted after 90 days....
