Of all royal patronages and military titles.

Guess mummy has finally had enough.

In a bid to save face.. little too late!

Aldinho57 · 13/01/2022 17:29

That's such a shame, can we not do the same to Harry,

Sprucewillis · 13/01/2022 17:29

About time too. At least HRH has taken swift action. Wish the cabinet would do the same.

Yes and face the charge as a ' private person ' .

WildRosie · 13/01/2022 17:31

Is he now plain old Andrew Middlename Middlename Windsor-Mountbatten now ? Evidently that is far from plain - Prince Andrew was quicker to say!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/01/2022 17:31

That thread title could have had a totally different content.... Blush for the way my brain works!

Its good to see official acknowledgement that he has behaved in a completely unacceptable way.

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/01/2022 17:31

Good. It was the only right course of action.

x2boys · 13/01/2022 17:31

What does that actually mean in reality?

Sprucewillis · 13/01/2022 17:32

Does the title need to be changed to 'Andrew stripped' Hmm

Whitepillows · 13/01/2022 17:33

@x2boys

What does that actually mean in reality?
I’m unsure too.
zafferana · 13/01/2022 17:33

About bloody time, but I must admit I'm delighted to see this action FINALLY being taken. He is an absolute disgrace and this will hit where it hurts - particularly losing his HRH - god that must be killing him! He's now 'a private citizen'. Wow!

zafferana · 13/01/2022 17:35

Re: 'Prince' Andrew, I suspect he'll keep being known as that, as it just says who is he is (i.e. the son of the reigning monarch). Prince Harry is still known as PH, despite stepping down from being a working royal, no longer using his HRH, etc.

drybird · 13/01/2022 17:35

Will he be paying his own league fees now?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/01/2022 17:36

And I presume he will stay in the line of succession too.

Abraxan · 13/01/2022 17:36

@Aldinho57

That's such a shame, can we not do the same to Harry,
Because the clearly what Harry has done is just as bad as being accused of sexual offences against teenage women?!?!

Seriously, some people can't manage to post anything about the royals without having to have a go at Harry and/or Meghan can they?!

This thread is about a much worse offender than Harry!

nancy75 · 13/01/2022 17:37

I don’t think he’s lost HRH or Duke of York (I don’t think they can take the title of Prince away)
I think it’s military titles & links with charities/military that have been taken away

SockFluffInTheBath · 13/01/2022 17:38

Good. I feel for the Queen in this. She’s an old lady, recently widowed, and her son’s sexual conduct, or lack there of maybe, is splashed all over the front pages.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 13/01/2022 17:38

He has lost HRH

Florianus · 13/01/2022 17:38

Guess mummy has finally had enough

I doubt that the queen had much say in it. It would have been the advisers and courtiers getting ready for the worst. Guilty or not, he will probably end up like his Great Uncle, banished abroad somewhere from whence we will hear no more of him.

SockFluffInTheBath · 13/01/2022 17:39

I hope the Queen doesn’t fund a penny of this circus, he needs to stand on his own two feet.

MintyGreenDream · 13/01/2022 17:39

Good he can be a noncey civilian then instead of a noncey royal

MintyGreenDream · 13/01/2022 17:39

Civilian of sorts

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 13/01/2022 17:41

nancy
“The Duke of York has been stripped of all military titles and patronages and will no longer use his HRH title, Buckingham Palace has said.”

Moot point if he has lost HRH or has agreed not to use it.

sadpapercourtesan · 13/01/2022 17:41

They keep showing that clip of the Maitlis interview where he said "I don't think it's been damaging to the Queen...it has to me"

All political dimensions aside, that is a spoiled, selfish overgrown brat who hasn't even given a thought to how his behaviour has impacted his elderly mother.
