One4all giftcards are a nightmare

You can only use them online to pay for something of their value or less.

They're such a PITA - I always end up buying DS's from him and just giving him the £ instead.

I used mine online at Boots.

I had to find a place that didn't charge delivery or pick up fees and I had to use the exact amount on the card.

The palaver of trying to register the card, scratch off the little silver layer and ensure I'd put the right codes in the correct box was almost more hassle than it was worth.

I had to try and make a purchase of £30. I ended up buying a carton of baby wipes to make the exact £30......

The expiry date is something like two years after purchase though

But why put an expiry on something and then quietly take the balance with a service fee every month, so by the time it gets to its expiry it is worthless?

caffelattetogo · 31/12/2022 09:31

"A monthly inactive balance charge of £0.90 (or the credit balance on the Card, if lower) will be charged after the Card has been in issue for 18 months. This charge will start to be applied from the following month and will continue until such time as the balance on the card is zero."
Why do this?

Can you tell me how you used the card in store at Boots please? I went there today and the cashier had no idea. We tried by inputting the details into the card machine but it wouldnt work.

Put it in the bin and write it off. They're rubbish anyway!

I only ever give cash or physical gifts now. My heart sinks at these vouchers.

DrStrangesSmarterSister · 22/05/2024 10:56

@Margo34, well, they're not worthless if you actually manage to spend them on something! But that doesn't seem to be particularly easy.

@anthony4444444, can you explain the problem you're facing? Someone might be able to help.

TK maxx are the only place I’ve found to accept them in store with no drama.
I agree they are awful!

One4all is so stressful to set up. I still can't use the card. I uploaded my picture so many times for that id verification thing and it still doesn't work. Been back and forth calling the customer care. Nearly 4 weeks and I still can't use it. I got a gift card for 500 euros and it's heartbreaking I can't use it. They are the worst gift card company. I would not recommend them to anyone.

LubaLuca · 27/08/2025 15:20

I've come back to this thread after being given ANOTHER One4all card recently. It's a digital one this time. Guess what?! It doesn't work online or in store! Rubbish customer service telling me I must be trying to use it as a gift card - I bloody well am not and neither are the store assistants.

I can't imagine how much money must be abandoned on these cards because they're just not worth the hassle and embarrassment of trying to use them.

I got given one through work and converted it online to a gift card for another store (I chose John Lewis). Was able to buy something more than the value of the gift card too.

This is a good idea

SerendipitySunshine · 07/09/2025 18:15

They are thé worst gifts. Please just give cash.
