I can't understand how anyone doesn't like bread sauce.

It's delicious, second best thing on a roast dinner.

What do you enjoy that you can't believe others don't?

My husband hates it. I realised recently he hasn't tried it. It's bloody lovely
I know someone else like that . As soon as they tried it they loved it.

I've never tried it but the name makes me laugh. Sounds like the most English thing ever.

'Mmmmm, a delicious sauce made of stale breadcrumbs'.

I'd definitely like to try it though, and see what this polarising lumpy splodge actually tastes like.

Bread sauce however is lovely

If any of your dinner guests are facially hirsute, it's highly likely to become 'beard sauce'.

God I adore it. When they were toddlers my kids ate it with with a spoon - ate most of the jug. Now they are teens they thing it's 'gross'. I dont give a shite and make it for me and dm every year - I am a pescatarian and quite often have salmon for Christmas lunch and still have it. But like pp it's a once a year thing.

Has to be home made. One year I was at mil and had mentioned how much I loved it and was looking forward to some when I went to my mums after Boxing Day so she got me a packet. God it was horrid but I choked it down as she's been so thoughtful

I hate soggy bread/cake in anything else - hate tiramisu and truffle for this reason.

Bread sauce is amazing, best if flavoured with mace. My DC used to love it on broccoli for a mid week meal.

Looking in the cupboard for something else the other day, I found 5 packets. I love it, scooped up with sprouts! On cold chicken sandwiches, oh yes!

I love bread sauce but I'm the only one in our family who does. I do some just for me, with enough left over for in sandwiches with the leftovers. I always feel Christmas has really started when I stud an onion with cloves on Christmas Eve!

I have never had it. Have just googled the recipe and it admittedly sounds better than its name would suggest.

Nope, tried grandparents bread sauce, restaurant bread sauce, posh waitrose and M&S bread sauce. No interest in eating it.

I'm going have a strong word with my mother tomorrow about why I've never heard of this stuff, and I'm not sure I will actually like it yet but it sounds amazing!

If you have a staleish loaf, an onion, cloves, milk, butter, cream and pepper you can have bread sauce in about two hours.

Wet bread-y sludge....yeah no thanks

Same with summer pudding and bread and butter pudding.

Reminds me of when you drop a piece of bread in the sink accidentally and it you have to fish it out all soggy and gross. Yuk.

I love bread sauce. It was always my job to make it when I was young and I still make my own every year. Not having turkey this year but still going to make it. I love the smell of the spices infusing.
