I can't understand how anyone doesn't like bread sauce.

It's delicious, second best thing on a roast dinner.

What do you enjoy that you can't believe others don't?

@RonniePickering

Wet bread knocks me sick.
See also: summer pudding. Grim.
MintyGreenDream · 20/12/2021 17:44

Never had it.Does it just taste like wet bread?

pairsinparis · 20/12/2021 17:44

@ExquisitelyDecorated it tastes just like washing up liquid to me. Why would that be?

Doesn't taste of much. There are plenty of nice things to eat at Christmas that do actually taste of something.

phlaps · 20/12/2021 17:47

@GuyFawkesDay you are Ross Geller or you've just tried the claim "The Moist Maker™️" as your own.

I'm on to you.

Loveisthere · 20/12/2021 17:47

Never tried it hoe do up make it

Bananalanacake · 20/12/2021 17:48

I use the BBC good food recipe, only today I sent it to Dh to print out for me at work, we don't have a printer. I'm cooking a Christmas roast for family in Germany, don't know if Germans like it though.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 20/12/2021 17:49

Never had it, never been offered it, never seen it. Is there a north/south divide on this? Grin

Saisong · 20/12/2021 17:49

Oh man, I luurve bread sauce. I still have my Nan's Aga cookbook with the best recipe in. Rest of my immediate family don't like it, so I only get to make it when we spend Xmas with my natal family (mum, sisters etc.)

Kdubs1981 · 20/12/2021 17:51

It's grim

RonniePickering · 20/12/2021 17:51

Yes ThatsMySanta, honestly can't eat any dish containing wet bread 😑

BeyondOurReef · 20/12/2021 17:52

@The100thHoliday

I only knew about bread sauce as an adult. We never had it growing up. It looks revolting! Like something Bob Cratchit’s family would’ve eaten. No, thanks.
I never had it growing up. Had never heard of it til I started watching cooking tv at Christmas as an adult. A few years ago I decided to make some to find out what the fuss was about.

Turns out it’s lovely. I’d assumed it would be disgusting. But I was wrong.

TuftyMarmoset · 20/12/2021 17:52

I’ve never had it, partly because it’s not part of my family’s traditions (and I don’t think I’ve seen it on restaurant Christmas dinners?) and partly because it looks like vomit.

I love sprouts though and don’t just buy them at Christmas 😋

Anordinarymum · 20/12/2021 17:52

I can't abide the look of it, the smell of it or the very thought of having it foisted upon me

pairsinparis · 20/12/2021 17:52

@CeeceeBloomingdale

Can't comment as I'm originally from midlands lol

drpet49 · 20/12/2021 17:53

Bread sauce is disgusting.

Me neither. It's a texture thing for me, not the taste.
woodhill · 20/12/2021 17:54

Boak, it's horrid

ZenNudist · 20/12/2021 17:55

It looks like the cats been sick on my turkey!

GertrudeBElion · 20/12/2021 17:55

Another one here who cannot do wet bread.

No gravy in sandwiches etc, I don't even like it when sliced tomatoes have wet the bread in a sarnie.

Ninananna · 20/12/2021 17:56

Yuk. Tried it once and never again. Each to their own.

Redshoeblueshoe · 20/12/2021 17:56

I love bread sauce.

RonniePickering · 20/12/2021 17:56

Yep texture here too. Same for those lady fingers in a trifle 🤮

Defiantly41 · 20/12/2021 17:57

Ooh @DrCoconut I wouldn't bother within the gluten gap free one, I could only get GF last year from M&S and it was all kinds of horrible. Maybe make your own. With GF bread?
