What are the papers trying to hint about Meghan?

My curiosity is getting the better of me here. I know when papers can't print something, they hint and hint terribly:
-the falling out between the d.o.c & her Norfolk friend

• comparing the guy who plays lord grantham to Ryan giggs etc.

But I just can't figure out what they're trying to say by banging on and on about the duchess of Sussex's 'unseasonably warm coat'. There's easily been 5 articles in the dm about it. I know I shouldn't care, but I'm bored and sleep deprived so if anyone would like to humour me, I'm all ears!

I should probably add I quite like Meghan and I'm trying to drop my mindless scrolling of the daily Mail so if you're going to slate either party, I'd much prefer that it was the mail!

Hinting at possible pregnancy probably. Coat to hide bump.

Don’t know but the last time they went on about a coat of hers was when she wore hers open to one of Prince Andrews daughters wedding, and revealed a pregnancy.

Covering up weight gain and merching are two that I've heard.

Either the fact she’s gained weight, which she has a bit, and the dm loves to shame women for that, or hinting she’s pregant. Clearly they don’t know either way,

I assumed it was because she hadn’t lost the baby weight and the coats hid it. Otherwise she has signed a contract to sell coats, or has a deal somewhere along the line, so is wearing them now to give them publicity before the cold weather hits and people start buying a new one.

Although I don’t get why the papers don’t just say that.

In my view, it’s because she’s not playing the ‘my body is back to normal just 3 months after giving birth’ game that so much of Hollywood does. So this is ‘ooh she’s covering up because she FAT’ but of course they’ll never say that implicitly.

Perhaps they're just commenting that she's wearing a warm coat because she planned her wardrobe before travelling and thought it might be colder than it is? Perhaps she's a bit self conscious about her baby weight? She shouldn't be, but lots of people are.

Who knows? I can't bear Meghan but I think she always looks great (although a bit too warm at the moment!)

God that really is annoying. I'd love to see Mike Tindall, Jack Brooksbanks or Edoardo Mozzi get half the crap off the press that the women who marry in do.

I've noticed there's been lots of fluffy DM articles about Lady Louise recently as well and I've been wondering what's been going on there too.

It is ridiculous and I wish I didn't know what meghan wore to NYC or even that she had gone to NYC BUT even without the dm comments I would be wondering why IS she wearing what must be a really uncomfortable hot wool coat in the heat it makes me feel sweaty just looking at the pictures.

Yes I worry they're building her up for a fall. The way the press treat women in the public eye really is atrocious. And I do appreciate that by clicking on the articles, I'm contributing to it. I do need to stop.

I know I was reading through some of the comments and you'd think she looks like waynetta slob judging by some of them. She looks amazing in a short white dress 3 months pp. I certainly didn't look that good so soon after having a baby.

They’re probably trying to fat shame her for not losing the baby weight. She’s very aware of the imminent personal attacks from the Mail and the rest of the filth, so decided to cover up.

She turns eighteen in a few weeks and there's speculation about how much of a public role she will take on.

She's miscalculated (or her stylist has) and arrived in an autumnal New York with a full on winter wardrobe. It's 75°F there and she's wearing polo necks and heavy winter clothes. That's what they're commenting on.

Or is hiding the wires and recorder. Apparently W Harry is wearing a wire

I think it's because she's kind of made her "debut" into the media with her appearance in a documentary about Prince Philip or something.

I think she just hasn’t lost the baby weight. Not exactly a crime - my kids are 7&5 and I arguably haven’t lost my baby weight. But at 3 months PP and still breastfeeding I was still quite a bit bigger than I am now.

For MM though, her SIL is the DoC who appeared at about 6 weeks PP in skinny jeans playing volleyball. Meghan seems to be of a slightly bigger build than Kate (not hard tbf) and I’m sure the press and their comments make her self conscious about that. There is such pressure on women to be slim and attractive but certainly when my babies were young I felt blobby and unattractive most of the time!
