What are the papers trying to hint about Meghan?

My curiosity is getting the better of me here. I know when papers can't print something, they hint and hint terribly:
-the falling out between the d.o.c & her Norfolk friend

  • comparing the guy who plays lord grantham to Ryan giggs etc.

But I just can't figure out what they're trying to say by banging on and on about the duchess of Sussex's 'unseasonably warm coat'. There's easily been 5 articles in the dm about it. I know I shouldn't care, but I'm bored and sleep deprived so if anyone would like to humour me, I'm all ears!

I should probably add I quite like Meghan and I'm trying to drop my mindless scrolling of the daily Mail so if you're going to slate either party, I'd much prefer that it was the mail!

@Roguehair

The Mail are acting like the abusive boyfriend that you finally find the courage to leave, but he can’t get over the fact that your new life is a success. He wants to drag you down and make you pay. Therefore the narcissistic rage drives him to stalk you, comment on every little thing you do and bad mouth you to anyone who’ll listen. Who knows where all this will end?
You could replace the words 'the Mail' with 'Piers Morgan' and that would still totally make sense.

To be fair M&H are doing the distracting. They're not working for HMTQ, so you know...

Yes Andrew is a much bigger and serious problem than two rogue Royals setting up court in the USA. As I said before everyone is in agreement on him, nothing to discuss, all we can do is wait and hope justice us served.

Weather-wise last time I was in NYC in September the weather changed from really warm to really cold overnight, mid month. I guess she should have been prepared for either eventuality, but wasn’t. Or the coat people told her it would be cold. Or maybe it usually is by now.

She looks stunning in the pic above

@AtillatheHun

I think that any celeb put walking in humid 80 degree heat in a succession of $4k cashmere coats will have the piss ripped out of them because it is bizarre behaviour. No way around it. But I also remember her wearing a next season summer frock / no coat to visit an old folks home in the uk in mid winter which was equally odd. Maybe she is too excited by new clothes to wait to wear them when seasonally appropriate.
When you see this you should know that they’re getting paid to advertise next season’s clothing.

Any normal person would adjust what they were wearing based on the weather but she’s probably contractually obligated to wear them so …

amusedtodeath1 · 26/09/2021 11:06

She does look better than pretty much everyone I know at 3 months PP. No arguments from me on that. I'm short, fat and grey, I have no room to criticize anyone in that regard Grin

LaBellina · 26/09/2021 11:07

My guess is that she was trying to hide the baby weight for a bit with the coat and later on the wide white dress and the DM is trying to shame her for this. I am not a Meghan fan but I think this is appalling. She gave birth less then 3 months ago.

Frazzledd · 26/09/2021 11:08

@rocklamp

Covering up weight gain and merching are two that I've heard.
I heard about the weight gain, could be possible she's pregnant again though
amusedtodeath1 · 26/09/2021 11:09

@UsedUpUsername, I had wondered that myself if she was perhaps being paid to promote someone's autumn/winter collection.

AtillatheHun · 26/09/2021 11:11

Yes the white dress is a shift but she’s taken a size up to accommodate her bust and so the shoulders are falling off her and it could use a little shaping under the bust / around the back. Shift doesn’t mean sack. (If she still had a dresser they’d probably have advised a different style altogether…

Teapiggies · 26/09/2021 11:15

I don’t think she’s pregnant again. I think she just struggles with baby weight, particularly around the middle and face. She’s very apple shaped which is difficult to dress, clothes never look quite right.

wellards · 26/09/2021 11:16

She gave birth less then 3 months ago.

Are people missing this!!

wellards · 26/09/2021 11:17

I think she wears clothes really well

amusedtodeath1 · 26/09/2021 11:18

Nope, it's been mentioned several times. No one here is criticising her weight, that I've seen anyway. Several people, myself included have said she looks good and no one has disagreed.

Yes! Well 3 1/2 months I think, but I’d be really surprised if she was pregnant again so soon. I think she’s just got a normal post baby shape.
amusedtodeath1 · 26/09/2021 11:19

She does need a good Tailor though.

Frazzledd · 26/09/2021 11:21

🤣 sorry, this really made me chuckle! Do you think she's had to learn how to wear them? (Armsies through here....)
PicsInRed · 26/09/2021 11:22

@amusedtodeath1

I think the story goes that either one or both kids are from surrogates. That she wore a moonbump to make her look pregnant. If she was pregnant now and more than say two months gone that would "prove" she didn't give birth to Lili three months ago.

The whole Lili isn't real thing is because no one has seen her, it's more of a joke, as is calling both kids dolls. There's so much stuff said about them, it does go too far at times.

Next the mail will be demanding the release of Lili's long form original California State birth certificate. HmmGrin

@SheWoreYellow it was response to a comment about it being hard to dress apple shapes

Teapiggies · 26/09/2021 11:27

Well she wears nice clothes & with confidence, so she wear them well in that sense.

But apple shapes always make outfits look a bit asymmetrical, they never look like they fit quite right.

BananaPB · 26/09/2021 11:28

Harry and Meghan seem to be making a Netflix documentary or reality show and filming while in NY. Meghan's coats at her business meetings seem to have square bulges that suggest she is recording audio too but since this is the DM I think it's about body shaming her

wellards · 26/09/2021 11:30

I disagree, I think long bodies & short legs (not sure what that shape is called) are harder to dress unless you physically hide it with clothes.

Unfashionable · 26/09/2021 11:31

Expensive clothes when visiting deprived areas - bad taste and not like Kate who wears Zara

Is that not fair comment / criticism?

ginghamstarfish · 26/09/2021 11:31

I would guess financial motives given the way this precious pair seem to be going? Advertising the brand? So much for privacy.

Agree to disagree I suppose!
