What are the papers trying to hint about Meghan?

My curiosity is getting the better of me here. I know when papers can't print something, they hint and hint terribly:
-the falling out between the d.o.c & her Norfolk friend

• comparing the guy who plays lord grantham to Ryan giggs etc.

But I just can't figure out what they're trying to say by banging on and on about the duchess of Sussex's 'unseasonably warm coat'. There's easily been 5 articles in the dm about it. I know I shouldn't care, but I'm bored and sleep deprived so if anyone would like to humour me, I'm all ears!

I should probably add I quite like Meghan and I'm trying to drop my mindless scrolling of the daily Mail so if you're going to slate either party, I'd much prefer that it was the mail!

I think they are trying to fat shame her. Shes just had a baby and she still looks better than me!

To be fair she looks better than me also, I don't like some of her fashion choices but, I'm a jeans and T-shirt person so what do I know???

For the same reason Harry has his mic pac showing in his pockets at various points - for the Netflix programme they’re making, which is why they needed to do this trip - they had to have something to put in the show.

They aren’t doing an undercover exposé, why would other people not know they were being filmed/recorded.

Coat to hide the microphone/ recording equipment.

But why wear a thick wool coat? Why not wear a thin cotton coat to hide your mic? It’s bizarre she’s wearing such a coat in 75 degrees!

There’s a photo of one of the meetings from Friday; she kept the camel colours coat on DURING the meeting which is really bizarre . I really don’t however think that they’re covertly filming / recording- they need to have participant consent for the footage to be useable so the other parties know they’re being recorded but they’re trying to make it look to the public that these were proper meetings, rather than for ups for filming. Hence also the ostentatious laptop / folder carrying- they have an assistant who could carry their crap but they need to put it front and centre for the optics of the filming.

I noticed that Meghan’s outfit was headline news whilst updates on Prince Andrew’s court case was buried halfway down the feed. The reason you’re seeing so much fuss over what this woman is wearing is to bury the actual, scandalous news. Which is what the RF want.

There's something to be said about setting the narrative. They speak badly of others, others will have no guilt in speaking badly of them They're image is now associated with negativity towards others, it just increases it back to them. IYSWIM.

How cold would it normally be in NY in September that you would need a massive coat? I assume it would be high 60s?

I saw those pictures and yes, I thought she is probably carrying a bit more weight than usual (NOT a criticism, just an observation), but if she is breast-feeding, then that might explain the much fuller bust.

There's not much to be said about Andrew TBH. The good news is that he is not a divisive person at all, public opinion is very much against him. There's nothing really to talk about we all know who he is any nobody likes it.

I think she IS skinny now, she’s very skinny. It’s the loose skin from her baby bump. I was the same with my first baby. I was very slim but I couldn’t loose the skin - it wasn’t fat, I tried everything I could but it wouldn’t go. Some women have that some don’t. I guess she does, she might not choose to have a tummy tuck or other surgery like other celebrities. I am not a fan of the royal family at all but I don’t think any women should be under pressure to do anything with such a young baby. The Mail are saying ‘look how fat she is! Or maybe she’s so fat because she’s pregnant’ and it’s shameful they do this.

So clearly this is just yet another Meghan bashing thread.

Let’s not pretend the OP is upset the papers print this stuff, she openly invited speculation and people are speculating in their droves.

The press do this a lot when there’s a story they want to tell but can’t. For example there were loads of weird stories about Matt Hancock out and about with his wife and kids, turns out he was shagging his aide behind her back and had been for some if rumours are true. Likewise lots of stories about Philip Schofield, but I won’t say what was really going on there it’s not hard to find out though 😉
