Meat - a Screen1(?) one off drama, it had an unknown Johnny Lee Miller AND John Simm in it!

Peep Show

Misfits

Brakebackcyclebot · 11/09/2021 15:39

Tenko - I loved it in my teens. Maybe it would be terribly dated now though

Ultraopaque · 11/09/2021 15:42

I'd like to see Rhentaghost but I suspect the film quality would be poor. Grin

And I continually watch Downtown on Prime. The plot gets more and creaky the more you watch it, but I love the costumes and decor Smile

And I once saw a play on BBC2 years and years ago. It was about an elderly husband visiting his wife in hospital. I know he took great care to being her the things she liked. I can barely remember any detail except for the fact that it was one of the most wonderful pieces of drama I had ever watched; profound, touching and funny. Can't remember the name of it though!

Casa de Papel
Life on Mars
Spooks

TheHouseIsOnFire · 11/09/2021 15:47

I was thinking about the Waltons the other day. Apparently it’s still on all the time in the US and I was like “awww I loved that when I was a kid, wish my lot could watch it” but then realised they probably wouldn’t appreciate it so much these days.

Also Quantum Leap. Used to watch with my parents and they loved it so much they used to video each episode even though they never rewatched them!

FanGirlFoof · 11/09/2021 15:50

There was a two part drama called Men Only, years ago on BBC. Can't find it anywhere, it was harrowing but I would like to watch it again.

Bluepinkyellowcakes · 11/09/2021 15:51

River, with Stellan Skarsgard and Nicola Walker, that was a brilliant series

Poetrypatty · 11/09/2021 15:54

Brookside - would love it if they put it all on again.

woodhill · 11/09/2021 15:56

A BBC (?) fly on the wall series called The Grafton about a working men's club 'oop north'. I absolutely loved it. Have never managed to track it down again. About 20 years old now.

Apparently that has never been repeated on TV nor released on DVD. I still remember it. I could not look at Marc Warren in the same way for a long time after that.
FanGirlFoof · 11/09/2021 16:14

@BlackberrySky

It was horrific but told a valuable story I think.

munchbunch12 · 11/09/2021 16:16

I used to love The Mary Whitehouse Experience when I was young, but am not sure if it'd age very well!

Tenko has been on a few times either on ITV3 or Drama channels. Sorry I can't remember which, but it was as brilliant as I remember.

Sleepyquest · 11/09/2021 16:24

The Leftovers - watch it if you haven't already

midsomermurderess · 11/09/2021 16:31

I have just found Jewel in T he Crown on Britbox. Had it not been for that, I would have said that.

midsomermurderess · 11/09/2021 16:32

Oh, yes, the Leftovers. It's a tough watch, but so worth it.

AlvinSimonTheo · 11/09/2021 16:33

Twitchynose · 11/09/2021 16:34

Think it was a drama on BBC2 called Mother Love, twenty odd years ago. Can’t remember the full plot now but was basically a controlling/abusive mother and mistreated adult daughter. I missed the last episode, and never did find out what happened when she was locked inside the old bomb shelter at the end of the penultimate episode! Not that I recall enough of the plot for the answer to make any sense now, so I need to watch the whole thing again.

WildRosie · 11/09/2021 17:32

Joe
Aubrey
Fred Basset (just to remember how awful the programmes were)
Noah and Nellie
Roland Rat plus chums in Hong Kong

Is it that good? I keep adding it to my Netflix list but then getting sidetracked!
