I'd look for my old baby blanket that went missing one day on holiday when I was around 8.

My Nan made it me, and I still wonder where the flip it could have gotten to. We were staying Inna caravan and I couldn't find it one evening...we looked all over.its a real mystery.

What about you?

My old Magic the Gathering cards which I think I threw out by mistake when clearing my geeky gamer stuff out as my new boyfriend thought it was weird. And now I realise I wanted to keep them.

MadamNoo · 10/08/2021 20:05

A work by a young artist I had recently bought that got thrown out with packaging during a house move (not by me). I still think about it regularly 14 years later and feel guilty that her work was likely destroyed

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 10/08/2021 20:06

A piece of dinosaur fossil I dug up in Africa.
I know it's in my house somewhere.....

SquirryTheSquirrel · 10/08/2021 20:07

A ring I lost when I was six.

Odile13 · 10/08/2021 20:09

A nice necklace that had a black and white enamel flower on it. I really liked that necklace! I have no idea where it’s gone.

CheerfulBunny · 10/08/2021 20:11

A diamond tennis bracelet I lost on a night out in London circa 1998. Bought for me by an exBF and fairly modest, but a pretty diamond bracelet nonetheless. Someone had a lucky find Hmm
That and a Links of London topaz earring. I've still got the other one - useless but I can't bear to throw it away.

ExtremelyDisorganised · 10/08/2021 20:12

A tee shirt that DS loved to bits when he was about 7, I meant to keep it as a keepsake but its gone, haven't seen it for years. I'd love to be able to give it back to him.

ozymandiusking · 10/08/2021 20:12

What a great thread. I would look for, some earrings which I threw away accidentally. A bracelet which a boyfriend brought back from Italy in the 60s.

Greyingmumto3 · 10/08/2021 20:12

My superman pyjamas that I lost in a move when I was 7 .
I strongly suspect that my mother used the chance to throw them and they probably weren’t in quite the pristine condition that I remember in my head

thatonesmine · 10/08/2021 20:13

A silver and jet necklace bought on a visit to Whitby. I took it off one night, put it on the bathroom windowsill, and never saw it again.

Gubanc · 10/08/2021 20:14

My sister's ET keyring that I accidentally dropped off the balcony when I was threatening her with throwing it off. I never intended to actually throw it.

HarrietSchulenberg · 10/08/2021 20:15

My Beatrix Potter books that I lost in a farm guest house in Newton Stewart when I was 4. My mum rang up to ask if they had seen them when we got home but they hadn't. Also my Ladybird books that were given to the jumble sale when I was about 14. If anyone has any books with a girl's name and "Clastor, 93 Long Lane" written inside, please look after them as they were once mine.

Also, my tiny little bear who I lost in a theatre in Manchester when I was 6. I realised he was missing on the train home but couldn't say anything as my mum had told me not to bring him in case he got lost. I fessed up when we got home and, once again, my mum rang the theatre but he's not been handed in.

HerRoyalNotness · 10/08/2021 20:16

A silver necklace I lost when I was about 15. A family friend bought it for me on one of her travels. She only had sons, so it was really sweet she’d bought it for me

The sapphire earring I lost at 18, the Pearl earring I lost at 36 and the silver Tiffany drop earring I lost at 37.

But of a theme going there

LoveFall · 10/08/2021 20:17

My diamond earring. I took it off one day in my bedroom and came into the living room. I suddenly had the feeling I had not put it somewhere safe.

In have never found it again.

Ozberry · 10/08/2021 20:17

My son’s teddy. He’s a strapping 19 year old now but I reckon he’d still be pleased to see him again.

VenusClapTrap · 10/08/2021 20:17

My great grandmother’s wedding ring. It passed through three generations and I was the one who lost it Sad

PeskyRooks · 10/08/2021 20:18

My nan gave me a lovely silver pendant of a harvest mouse on an ear of corn I was about 10. I wanted to wear it straight away so she actually took a chain from round her neck and put the pendant on and put it on me.
I went out to play in the field opposite her house and when I came back it was gone. It must have fallen off still can't understand what happened. I literally had it for about 20 minutes! So sad and still feel the gut punch of having lost it 35 years later
So I would like that back please!

KittenKong · 10/08/2021 20:19

Mums eternity ring

Lifeisbeautiful01 · 10/08/2021 20:20

3 silver rings I took off whilst washing up on a camp site (Ladram Bay). All 3 were special presents. It was 4 years ago and I still feel sad that I lost them!

RichardMarxisinnocent · 10/08/2021 20:20

The photo booth photo of me as a toddler with my mum and my gran which I lost about 15 years ago. I think I probably knocked it off my bedside table into a bin, but only realised after I'd emptied the bin.

DramaAlpaca · 10/08/2021 20:20

DH's wedding ring. It vanished one day when we'd been married about a year. He'd been gardening that day, dug up all the plants he'd put in to search for it to no avail. We ended up buying another one.

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 10/08/2021 20:20

My marbles.

TheLeadbetterLife · 10/08/2021 20:20
  1. the locket which had my late father's picture in, which was in a bag that got pinched from a London pub.
  1. a necklace in the shape of a turtle, made out of coconut shell, that I bought in Costa Rica in 2001. No idea where it went.
  1. The earring I lost last year due to it getting caught in my bloody covid mask.
cheesymarmite · 10/08/2021 20:20

My daughters babydoll that we left on a train when she was four.

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/08/2021 20:21

My granny's charm bracelet. Some wanker stole it Sad Probably worth bugger all but I loved it.
