I just ate two time out wafers, which I really like, but I'd love one of the old two fingered Time Outs that had the later of twirl type chocolate in the middle.

I loved a Spira too. And a Galaxy Liaison.

Any other chocolate bars you miss and could eat right now

I’d forgotten about so many of these delights!

B&M sell Cadbury’s Marbles.

HotHointheavo · 09/06/2021 14:30

Coconut Boost - absolutely
Fuse - Yep
Cabana ...... I would give my right arm for 1!!!

HotHointheavo · 09/06/2021 14:33

@ElderMillennial

Not a chocolate bar but I really liked Cartoonies biscuits when I was younger. They were small round, pebble-like biscuits with chocolate in the middle. I don't think you can buy them any more but they were yummy.

Chocolate gems are a similar taste but not the same.

I think these are called panda now maybe and sold in little boxes - definitely in Asda

Oh and had an echo recently so they are still about.

Loved a Milky Lunch by Lovells

and for you white chocolate lovers there is a coconut lion bar in B&M which is indeed coated in white chocolate!

ladymalfoy · 09/06/2021 14:48

Delight bars. Milky Lunch.

ApolloandDaphne · 09/06/2021 14:51

Mint Cracknel. It was so good.

HelenRose1111 · 09/06/2021 15:00

Ooh, I have found my people!
Milk Tray Bars, there was a 5p one and a 10p one, the 5p one had about 6/7 individual chocolates joined together in the bar, the 10p was bigger obviously. My favourite filling was the Lime Barrel mmmm!

Banjo hazelnut - wafer like a Time out sandwiched around chopped hazelnuts covered in chocolate

Buttersnap, the original Daim bar only better

Pacers, mint Starbursts

Terry's Neopolitans - cafe, milk, dark, orange and mint(?) individual slabs like the mini Dairy Milks. MMM

And Fry's Five Centres which had a piece each of Lime, Strawberry, Lemon, Blackcurrant(?) and Orange.

ElderMillennial · 09/06/2021 20:04

When were the milk tray bars about? They sound interesting.

The terrys neopalitans were good. You can get some sort of similar Lindt chocolates, well similar in that they are different flavours and that same shape. Not sur what they are called but I sometimes get them in TK Maxx

I loved Milk Tray, especially the coffee chocolate. They changed it though and it wasn't half as nice. I would love a Milk Tray bar : I never saw them, I'm sure I'd remember.

ElderMillennial · 09/06/2021 20:35

Im not super keen on milk tray chocolates. Not sure why as I generally like Cadbury's but I just can't get excited about milk tray, roses and quality streets... not keen on miniature heroes either actually but I enjoy celebrations...

What was my point?

Hmm

Oh yeah, still intrigued by the milk tray bar

And now I want some chocolate

Rolo eggs, sold around Easter time in the early-mid 90s? Like caramel eggs but so much nicer in my memory.

ElderMillennial · 10/06/2021 07:10

I remember Rolo eggs

I like Rolo but not keen on Cadbury's caramel, personally

I quite like the mini rolo's when you can get them!

Seventies. They stopped them as the lime barrel was prone to leaking if it got crushed. I loved them. Also really loved Terry’s Neopolitans, they were so delicious.
SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/06/2021 13:45

Rolo eggs were gorgeous!

purplecorkheart · 10/06/2021 14:00

Late 1990's possibly 200*s cadbury (Ireland) used to do a Rum and Raisin bar and a banoffee bar. No one I know seems to remember them. Also loved the lollipops you could get in Marks and Spencer. They were clearish and came in packs of threes by the till

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/06/2021 14:39

I loved the 90s Cadbury’s medium sized bars you used to get in Woolies, especially Top Deck, Double dream (vanilla and chocolate fudge pieces) and Old Jamaica.

diddl · 10/06/2021 14:39

Another fan of the Bar Six!

Is the Time Out wafer similar?

Anyone heard of a Twirl Breakaway?

00deed1988 · 10/06/2021 15:00

Mars Delights. Amazing!

SirVixofVixHall · 10/06/2021 15:35

I am on a diet, but this thread made me so hungry I have just scoffed half a bar of almond chocolate...

ElderMillennial · 10/06/2021 15:49

Banoffee?!

The Time Out bar you can get now is all wafer and chocolate (a bit like a Blue Ribband but Cadbury?), basically like the old time out but without the twirl bit in the middle and only one finger.

Thanks.

I've read about-but never seen(!) a Twirl breakaway which is Twirl chocolate & wafer covered in chocolate.

ElderMillennial · 10/06/2021 16:27

I hadn't heard of the Twirl Breakaway but just googled it and looks like they are the same. very odd!

But I would like one.

OP posts:
BIWI · 10/06/2021 16:30

That looks like an Australian product. Very similar to the original Time Out, except that it's a Twirl down the centre rather than a Flake - which would make it extra chocolatey.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 10/06/2021 16:40

Tiffins are on offer at Asda, if anyone needs an excuse to buy one.

And isn't that the mint bar that PP's have mentioned?
