I just ate two time out wafers, which I really like, but I'd love one of the old two fingered Time Outs that had the later of twirl type chocolate in the middle.

I loved a Spira too. And a Galaxy Liaison.

Any other chocolate bars you miss and could eat right now

@JeanClaudeVanDammit

I loved sucking cold milk through a Spira like a straw.
Hot chocolate through a Spira was the future

Oh Echo bars were nice

I assumed you could still get them!

Loved the echo bars and mars delight! Grin
Also when I called at the shop for my dm, she always asked me to pick her up a flyte bar as they were low calorie I think! Grin
The flake snows were amazing too!
And lion bars, but they may still do them!

@Buggerthebotox, Starbars are usually found in small, independent shops. There's a shop like this on my council estate. I get a starbar once a week. I don't like chocolate much ( prefer cheese), but I love a starbar. Love walnut whips, too. You can get these in poundland type shops. And frys chocolate bars in pound shops, too.

@SeraphinaDombegh

Fuse bars. I flipping loved them. Still don't understand why they discontinued them!
Oh yes, I remember those. Was so sad when I couldn't get them anymore.
CurryLover55 · 07/06/2021 18:51

Loved a Drifter!

Rubyupbeat · 07/06/2021 18:52

There used to be a milk tray bar, it was my saturday treat, along with my comics. I am 57 so many years ago.

I would sell my children for original recipe dairy milk.

Allegedly, CDM made in Ireland is still to the original/an earlier recipe. Enterprising eBayers based in NI buy it from across the border (or maybe that factory supplies the whole island of Ireland?) and sell it UK-wide. Haven't tried it myself yet - am very tempted to, though!

Also, original recipe Milky Way were so lovely - so much nicer than the ones they sell now. I remember back in the early 90s buying one from a corner shop in Germany and being horrified that it was a shadow of what I was expecting. Sadly, that's the same recipe they use for UK Milky Bars now too Sad Both the red and the blue cars can just get in the bin now, I really don't care who wins any more .

Coconut boost.

My God if those came back I'd be 10 stone heavier.

Monkeytennis97 · 07/06/2021 18:57

Also old style aero bars... so much easier to nibble the milk chocolate from first.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 07/06/2021 18:59

The 99p store used to sell Walkers white chocolate mints like after eights. They were delicious! I haven't seen them for years. I love any white chocolate and mint combination!

SheriffCallie · 07/06/2021 19:03

@cheeseismydownfall

Can anyone remember something that had five or six individual dark chocolates filled with a strawberry (or could have been raspberry) filling, that were packaged up to be the same size and shape as a normal chocolate bar? I think the wrapper was mainly blue. Would have been in the 80s I guess. They were delicious!
I was recounting my memory of this chocolate to a friend recently. I could have sworn it was called Silk. But google threw up nothing and I was starting to think I’d dreamt it!!
DwangelaForever · 07/06/2021 19:03

DAIRY MILK WITH BISCUIT 🤤🤤🤤.

I haven't seen a dairy milk tiffin about in a long while either!

Loved Spiras and Marbles too. And texan bars!

DwangelaForever · 07/06/2021 19:04

And Wispa Bites and Mint Wispas!

DwangelaForever · 07/06/2021 19:05

Praline flakes were amazing too omg!!

Those tiny little CDM bars were such a delicious treat. They used to sell them in the standard purple-colour card packs with gold flaps at the top and bottom, so you could carefully open them, scoff the lot anyway and throw the pack away take just one or possibly two and tuck the flap back in to keep the rest and make them last for weeks as if. They also used to sell fun little machines for home use where you could fill them up with the tiny bars and 'buy' them for 2p each. Fun, but a waste of energy, if you ask me Grin

Also, talking of machines - actual vending ones rather than toy ones - I can't actually recall what the sweets were like inside, but do others remember the distinctive yellow ones that were on the outside of random shops and other businesses and thus available 24/7 - long before the days when sweets were available from Spar and their ilk from 7am-11pm, as now? I'd think I was imagining them, but for the old re-runs of Desmond's!

Also, whilst on the subject of machines, the delicious hard little Nestle slab bars you could buy for 20p from railway stations - several flavours to choose from - by pulling out one of the (very stiff) metal drawers on wall-fixed machines. They were replaced across the board, almost overnight, with the lower-down massive purple Cadbury ones - shortly before they changed the recipe, IIRC.

@LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone

I miss Mint Cracknell's and Weekend boxes of chocolates/sweets.

Ahhh, the 70's!

Oh I loved this!
TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/06/2021 19:12

Every time I eat a Time Out I think "How has the Time Out survived when the Drifter perished?"

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 07/06/2021 19:13

I didn't know starbars and mint crisp were difficult to get, they are plentiful here in Ireland! Starbars always up there as one of my favourites. Marble is the one that came to mind for kez they were shortlived but delicious and a bit more expensive than others! Never saw an Australian one. I'm glad I'm in my pj's or if be tempted to race to the shop after this thread!

LarsErickssong · 07/06/2021 19:14

Oh how could I forget praline flakes they were amazing!!
TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/06/2021 19:14

I haven't seen a dairy milk tiffin about in a long while either!

You can get them in the Irish section of larger Tescos and Morrison's.

Spudina · 07/06/2021 19:15

Today I joined a Fb group to get the Spira brought back. I hope the campaign works!!
