I just ate two time out wafers, which I really like, but I'd love one of the old two fingered Time Outs that had the later of twirl type chocolate in the middle.

I loved a Spira too. And a Galaxy Liaison.

Any other chocolate bars you miss and could eat right now

Trios too. My nan always used to have those in for me when I went round.
They brought them back a few years ago for a while. The toffee one - yum!
musicalfrog · 08/06/2021 13:43

I forgot about Drifter, Fuse and Secret but I loved them all!

Spiras I have never forgotten. Someone please do something to get them all back??

Every Easter I am reminded about the dear departed mint creme egg. Think it was by Rowntrees. Amazing with a green "yolk".

Another is the Zero bar. Was one newsagents in our small NI town that sold them. Slightly more expensive than mainstream chocolate at the time. Might have been continental. Certainly not American bar of same name. This link www.doyouremember.co.uk/memory/zero describes it. 5 or 6 chucks of truffley goodness that was somehow cold in the mouth. No one else ever remembers it.

StiffyByng · 08/06/2021 14:31

I remember Strollers. Quite liked them.

I've been wanting to Cadbury dream to come back for years and my father in law found it last week! In either jack fultons or B & M he doesn't remember which, so I'll be making a trip to both.

Now I'm just waiting for the Mars delight and the Cadbury marble. Every time my dad took us to the corner shop after the park I would get a marble every single time, I've been devastated for years! Google tells me it was discontinued in 2012 but I haven't seen it around for a lot longer. I see there's an Australian version, I'll give it a try.

@EBearhug

BUWU, which products didn't you work on, so might be safe? Wink

Sorry!

Where did you find that @cheeseismydownfall? I've searched several time for an image of the pack, without success!
hennaoj · 08/06/2021 15:46

@UnitedRoad

In the 80s you could buy Cadbury’s mint crisp, but only from a machine, at a small railway station in Surrey (might have been other places, but believe me, I’ve searched). The machine only sold this one chocolate bar, and it was the most delicious thing ever. I think I’ve only had it twice but would love to have it again. Apparently it’s still sold in Ireland.

Any mint chocolate. Mingles definitely, and I’m sure there was wispa mint once.

You can get Mint Crisps in Asda's that have an Irish foods section.

Might it have been made my Callard and Bowser ?

ElderMillennial · 08/06/2021 16:03

I think Cadbury has some white chocolate products out at the moment, for those who are missing Cadbury Dream. I've seen white chocolate buttons, although maybe they were available all along.

Dark Secrets Chocolates (plain chocolate pyramids filled with vanilla ice cream).
Bar Six
Cadbury's Welcome.
Cadbury's Grand Seville.
Ice Breaker - Chocolate with shards of mint cracknell.
Thornton's "Winter" White and mint chocolate.
Thornton's White chocolate coated almond tablet.
Fuse bars.
Fry's 5 centre fruit cream bar.
Cadbury Marble.
Pas de deux small easter eggs-

Miss Cadbury chocolate in general since they changed the recipe Sad

The local corner shop is still selling Cadbury Dream.

The new Cadbury's white chocolate bar is too tart and cloying compared to the dream! I wonder why they wouldn't just use the same recipe seeing as they never really do white chocolate and also why they seem to have bought the dream back but only in select places and not advertised it!
cheeseismydownfall · 08/06/2021 18:05

@BIWI, I had tried so many different search strings but finally found it with a google image search on "cadbury silk strawberry retro". I honestly think it is the only image in existence!

I am unreasonably pleased with myself - I pride myself in my google searching and was beyond frustrated that I couldn't find it Grin

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 08/06/2021 18:49

@cheeseismydownfall

Can anyone remember something that had five or six individual dark chocolates filled with a strawberry (or could have been raspberry) filling, that were packaged up to be the same size and shape as a normal chocolate bar? I think the wrapper was mainly blue. Would have been in the 80s I guess. They were delicious!
Fry's chocolate cream/orange cream/ raspberry cream etc. You can still get them.
FictionalCharacter · 08/06/2021 19:12

Wait, Drifters don’t exist any more? Sad

@KurtWilde I remember those nutty bars too! Lovely.

BIWI · 08/06/2021 19:13

@BobbinThreadbare123

They discontinued Drifters in 2019. Might be a few kicking round in Poundland etc? I miss those. S African Dairy Milk is the closest I have found to our proper old UK recipe. Top Deck should come back to these shores! I loved Cadbury Fuses when I was a teenager; apparently you can get them in India nowadays.
None of the shops round my way got that memo. You can still buy them. You can even order them on asda delivery

They have them in b&m

You might be thinking of Time Out?

On the Asda website they still show them but if you look you will see they are unavailable.

I'm sorry. They are gone Sad

Darn it! Sorry Grin

ElderMillennial · 09/06/2021 12:56

Not a chocolate bar but I really liked Cartoonies biscuits when I was younger. They were small round, pebble-like biscuits with chocolate in the middle. I don't think you can buy them any more but they were yummy.

Chocolate gems are a similar taste but not the same.

And there was a mint chocolate bar, metallic blue wrapper with bright green writing. Milk chocolate with sugary minty bits, a bit like matchmakers. I remember that.

And pizza crisps! clearly not chocolate

StiffyByng · 09/06/2021 13:50

In biscuit terms I would sell a foot for some Romany biscuits. Massively chocolately chocolate creams.
