I just ate two time out wafers, which I really like, but I'd love one of the old two fingered Time Outs that had the later of twirl type chocolate in the middle.

I loved a Spira too. And a Galaxy Liaison.

Any other chocolate bars you miss and could eat right now

@cheeseismydownfall

Can anyone remember something that had five or six individual dark chocolates filled with a strawberry (or could have been raspberry) filling, that were packaged up to be the same size and shape as a normal chocolate bar? I think the wrapper was mainly blue. Would have been in the 80s I guess. They were delicious!
Do you mean a Milk Tray Chocolate Bar?

I miss Mint Cracknell's and Weekend boxes of chocolates/sweets.

Ahhh, the 70's!

Sainsburys sell it as well.

Banjo.

If I concentrate really hard I can still remember how they taste even though I've not had one for over 30 years.

I feel a sort of grief when I think I might never actually taste one again!

Picklypickles · 07/06/2021 15:58

I haven't seen the dark bounties in my local Morrisons, that's where I do most of my shopping! I've not seen them in my local co-op either, they must not be a very popular choice around here! I'm a little bit out of the way where I live and we don't have all of these shops close by like Home Bargains/Asda/Sainsbury etc, but my dad shops in Sainsburys I'll have to ask him to keep his eye open for them!

The other ones I really miss where the white chocolate fish and chips you used to get in the Woolworths pick n mix back in the 80's where the chips were crinkle cut and the fish had little scales! I think you can get something similar online somewhere but expensive!

ElderMillennial · 07/06/2021 16:02

I think I might have got dark choc bounties when I was doing my online shop with Morrison's but I'm not 100% sure

The weekend box looks interestinf

I would sell my children for original recipe dairy milk.

BeepBeepImACar · 07/06/2021 16:12

I miss:

Almond Yorkie

Peanut yorkie

Terry's Neapolitans

Terry's Pyramint

Terry's Moments (hexagonal segments of milk choc with hazelnut caramel in and also a version with praline shaped like a mountain with white choc peak)

Maverick

Fuse

Wispa Mint

Drifters

Cadbury Snowflake

Cadbury Top Deck (no longer available in UK)

Cadbury miniatures (you put them in a red Woolworths slot machine especially made for them, put 10p in and one would come out)

RebeccaCloud9 · 07/06/2021 16:13

Oh Secrets were the PERFECT chocolate bar. I really miss them.

And yep, you can still get mint, plain, raspberry and orange Fry's creams in B and M.

EverythingisBlossom · 07/06/2021 16:15

I adored Secret bars but I think I have heard that there is no chance they will return as they were so expensive to make.

Also spira - for some reason the shape made the chocolate tasted so much nicer than other bars. As much as I loved them though, I'd hate for them to come back now that cadbury's choc tastes so bad.

Coconut boosts. I may be wrong but I thought that these were the original, one and only boost, and then biscuit was launched and ended up taking over. Maybe it was just that only the coconut ones were available near me though. I absolutely loved them though.

Golden Cups - as a PP said, so much better than a cadbury's caramel.

Also Bitz bars - these were chocolate with crunchy bits of mint or orange - like matchmakers in a bar. I loved the mint one and remember getting a mint bitz easter egg one year!

Those would be my top five but also love lots of the others mentioned here: Fuse, Drifter, Maverick, Frys Five Centres, Mingles, Pyramints - I remember once leaving pyramints in the car on a hot day - when we came back I literally drank/sucked the melty chocolatey, minty goodness from the wrapper.

Cafe near me sells dark chocolate bounty at the till. I always get one as a monthly treat.

Others that I recall:
Top Deck (can still get abroad sometimes),
Strollers (again the same chocolate but tasting better in a different shape and I remember the advert with Black's It's a Wonderful Life), Mars Planets and Mars Delight (or de-lite, maybe?)
Nova bars - (chocolate base with a sort of nutty, granola top)

EverythingisBlossom · 07/06/2021 16:20

Oh, and Vice Versas.

Reading this it has suddenly made me realise that my fatness as an adult is not the surprise it should have been - the question is why I stayed so slim for so long as a teenager/young adult before all this chocolate gorging finally caught up with me.

bebarkered · 07/06/2021 16:31

Rowntree Mackintosh Golden Cup!

No, not a Fry's or a Five Boys. It is driving me mad! I found this thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3620069-A-chocolate-from-the-90s-that-had-a-raspberry-or-strawberry-filling

and the first reply describes it perfectly - five individual chocolates and a blue foil wrapper BUT none of the pictures I am googling are right. The chocolates weren't in a bar, they were individual. They sat on a cardboard inner tray so you could kind of slide them out.

I'm wondering if maybe they were a European import which our little local newsagent somehow managed to get a supply of!

BeepBeepImACar · 07/06/2021 16:47

Am I just weird or does anyone else get envy of a previous decades chocolate bars?

I wasn't born until early 80s but I been reading up about 70s choc bars that are no longer with us and I find myself longing for:

Cabana

Frys 5 centres

Golden Cup

Mint cracknell

Banjo

Cadburys milk tray lime barrels

I am pleased to see McColls are doing Marathons. I remember when they changed into Snickers and although I do like Snickers, I have always believed the Marathon bars tasted different and better.

One Below and Poundland do those too

Love the raspberry ones.

Flyte bars - they were like Milky Ways but less calories (so they said on the wrapper!🤣) I used to keep some in my drawer at work for coffee breaks, delicious😋 Not seen them for years though!
I also liked those bags of Cadbury's Pebbles, pebble shaped candy shells containing chocolate. They weren't around for long, and then discontinued. No idea why!

I saw those bags of Cadburys pebbles back in 2018 at the Cadbury outlet factory shop in McArthur Glen in Bridgend. They have all sorts of unsual Cadbury there.
JeanClaudeVanDammit · 07/06/2021 17:07

I loved sucking cold milk through a Spira like a straw.

AGirlsGotToDo · 07/06/2021 17:10

I could eat any right now... cadburys, the lot! But I'm on the Cambridge diet and must stop opening these threads about chocolate 😫🤣🤣

Zwellers · 07/06/2021 17:24

Definitely Cadbury marble. Also vice versas (milk chocolate wrapped in white shell and vice versa).

ArseholesOnToast · 07/06/2021 17:32

Put a flake in your break with Cadbury’s Time Out. Not any more Cadbury’s, you swines.

Love Secret, marble bar and Astros. Miss them all.

ElderMillennial · 07/06/2021 18:26

I was going to say I had one of those Cadbury vending money boxes with the mini dairy milks. I thought you could still get them so going to Google.

I remember flyte bars but thought of them as a low cal thing?

Marbles were great, as were Galaxy liaison (I think of them as being similar). Not sure why they'd stop selling them as I think they were very popular?!
