What do your kids eat from the chippy?

I fancy Chinese tonight and dp will have fish and chips.
Kids will only pick at chips and might push to a sausage, really trying to encourage them to broaden their horizons any ideas? What’s your kids chippy order?

Fish cake usually, for ours.

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/03/2021 13:52

King rib

Pemberleys · 19/03/2021 13:52

Battered fish or sausage

Poppystars · 19/03/2021 13:53

Fish cake or nuggets

Comefromaway · 19/03/2021 13:53

Mine used to like fishcake when they were younger.

Superstardjs · 19/03/2021 13:53

Fish, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce.

LadyDanburysHat · 19/03/2021 13:54

What ages are they?

Two of mine don't like chips at home, but love Chippy chips. Eldest usually has pizza from the chippy. The other two have fish and chips or smoked sausage.

@IHaveBrilloHair

King rib
What an earth is this. What animal does it come from? Is it a rib made of kings or a rib fit for a king or a massive rib?

Is it from a mammal or is it shaped out of fish to resemble a rib

I have SO many questions on this mythical beast

Disorganisedfish · 19/03/2021 13:54

Fish cake, piece of battered fish, chicken nuggets, battered sausage or a 1/2 roast chicken...... or a burger...... I want fishy shop tea now!

BakedTattie · 19/03/2021 13:55

Fish supper, single battered sausage. They share it all.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 19/03/2021 13:56

Mini fish and chips or fish cake and chips.

amusedbush · 19/03/2021 13:56

I used to go out with a guy who lived in London - I’m in Glasgow. The first time we got a chippy when I was staying with him I couldn’t believe there was only fish, sausages or chicken to choose from.

Here we have king rib, battered burger, deep fried pizza, steak pie, black pudding, white pudding, haggis...

Thereisnoname · 19/03/2021 13:56

Are they always fussy or just at the chippy? As mine are quite fussy (like plain food) but will eat fish and chips or a chicken kebab without much complaint.

WhatHaveIFound · 19/03/2021 13:57

DD would go for chips & gravy. DS would opt out of a chippy order as he doesn't like either chips or battered fish. He'd probably opt for something like chicken & cashew nuts with rice from the Chinese instead.

idontlikealdi · 19/03/2021 13:59

Are you in Scotland by any chance?!

Mine have chips. England. We have fish, sausage or chipsGrin

Grapesoda7 · 19/03/2021 13:59

Burger or battered sausage, scallop, chips, curry sauce. I loved tinned roe as a kid

dropthedeadhorse · 19/03/2021 13:59

DH and I wait until the kids are in bed before we have a takeaway. No point in wasting money on them when they will be absolutely delighted with the freezer food I present them with.

sunshineandshowers21 · 19/03/2021 14:00

one has a curry mix with a fishcake, another has chips smothered in white mint sauce with chicken nuggets, and the other has chips and a fishcake (and anything anyone else is eating! she’s basically a human dustbin!)

Ragwort · 19/03/2021 14:01

How do you deep fry a pizza? Confused. Surely all the toppings fall off?

My DS loves fish now but went through a stage of having chips and onion rings Grin.

BabyMoonPie · 19/03/2021 14:02

We had Chinese chippy earlier in the week and my 4 year old had prawn crackers (she'd had her main meal at nursery)

minipie · 19/03/2021 14:03

Scampi or a small bit of battered fish, plus chips

Notavegan · 19/03/2021 14:04

Chips and beans! Cheap too

confusedofengland · 19/03/2021 14:04

Mine have plain sausage, battered sausage or saveloy 😋

Lyricallie · 19/03/2021 14:04

Sometimes they're battered first "pizza crunch" keeps the toppings on 😂

DD1 will have the chips and heat up her own fish fingers
DD2 will have the majority of a fish, and some mushy peas. Has done since toddler good. She does not like chips (of any form of potato except a token amount of mash).

Chinese however... Duck pancakes. Spring rolls. Noodles. Prawn crackers...
