What do your kids eat from the chippy?

I fancy Chinese tonight and dp will have fish and chips.
Kids will only pick at chips and might push to a sausage, really trying to encourage them to broaden their horizons any ideas? What’s your kids chippy order?

Our chippy does chicken nuggets, DS has those with chips.

It's made of seasoned pork (i get the bbq one) and shaped into a long rectangle. It is battered and deep fried. There is a picture in the thread too

Small cod and chips, from non-fancy chippy is about £9 here and I wished I lived in W1! Just over the border from N1 at present.

You can usually get cheaper chips in kebab shops if you want, but they don't have the fish so you end up paying the same for shawarma.

DS(12) - full size fish and chips
DD (9) - fish bites, scampi or sausage and chips
DH and I - fish n chips

We tend not to get a Chinese takeaway, because the local one isn’t very good, but DS loves bbq ribs. I’d rather have a curry, but no one else in the household likes spicy food!

Their first choice will always be a burger

We're veggies so we usually have chips, beans and a pineapple fritter. My little boy especially LOVES the fritter.

We very rarely get a chippy but when we do it’s either fish cake, savaloy, cod, sausage, or chicken nuggets for DS (he’s 3) - whichever one he fancies on the day.
He also is obsessed with curry sauce with his chips

Mine had half pizza with chips or chips n cheese

Kebab shop chips are nice but there are not like chippy chips

Our fish and chip shop doesn’t sell burgers but do a range of vegan fish items. Ds was disappointed with the sausage in batter I think the sausage was good quality but not want you are having chips shop sausage

Or if it's a Chinese they have chicken chowmein or honey chilli chicken with salt and pepper fries and curry sauce for the chips. Occasionally they will have noodle soup and prawn crackers

Mine would have mini fish & chips with a few beans or mushy peas.

Would they not like anything from the chinese with you? Maybe a chow mien, or they do sweet and sour chicken balls, kinda like giant chicken nuggets.

@Bhappy12 I used to LOVE pineapple fritters, our locals no longer sell them. It's a travesty.

Our local really quite fancy fish and chip shop has started doing deep fried creme eggs. Oh my fucking god.

@QueenPaw we’ve started getting ‘posh’ fish and chips from a place doing takeaway since covid instead of the regular chipper and it’s €13.50 for fish, chips and peas!

When I was little I always wanted a pizza crunch with loads of mayonnaise! I've only eaten it a handful of times as an adult though because it's just so disgustingly good.

Sausage and chips

Our order is generally pudding, chips and gravy for me and DS and fish and chips for DH and DD.

Mine would be fighting you for a bit of whatever Chinese you'd ordered!
But chippy wise -
Ds10 - chips, sausage & gravy with a bit of someone else's curry sauce. Or a steak pudding.
Ds8 - fish & chips
Or we get a family sized chips, gravy & curry and barms from the bakery if it's a Saturday lunch.

We haven't had a chippy in ages.

Mine would all have fish and chips from the chippy. With Chinese they mostly eat loads of different stuff apart from dc3 who will only eat chicken chow mein and prawn crackers.

From the Chinese, my two will share a quarter crispy duck, and DD2 will have some chow mein (any flavour, she's not fussy!).

From the chippy they'll have battered fish, chips and mushy peas. When they were younger we did fish cakes but they prefer proper fish.
