How long into your relationship did you get engaged?

Just that really! Interested to see when people decided to put a ring on it. I know no two relationships are the same but I am intrigued having a baby and coming up to our second year anniversary makes the question play in my mind more so as to when things like this follow?

Got together in 2014 and engaged in 2017. So 4 years 😊

One year in. We are now nearly 4 years in, living together for 2 years, waiting for covid to let us get married (should have been last year) and with a baby due any day.

If you are committed to each other enough to have a child are not not committed enough to be married?

Was getting engaged and married discussed between you and your DP?

14 years, post kid. We only did it to be tidy for financials. Eloped as well.
Was fun.

2 months. Got married 2 years later

Married 9 years in May.

11 years.... But we started when we were late teens

Together 2 years before we got engaged, engaged just shy of a year, and married 4 years this year.

Never got engaged as such. Just got married after 10.

Together in jan 2015 and engaged in may 2016, hopefully getting married this year..🤞🏻

Thirteen months. We were engaged for two years though. We’ve been married 12 years.

6 years

Got engaged about 1.5 years in but had discussed what we were looking for long term (as on whether or not we wanted to get married ever, have kids etc.) after about 6 months.

4 months.

Bought a house together after 1 year. Married after 18 months. Had a child 3 years later. Thirtieth wedding anniversary this year.

10 years

1 year then engaged for 14 months

Got together 1989, bought a house ( like you could in those days in your 20s) in 1992, engaged 1993, married 1994.
Married 26 years, fingers crossed, still going

We didn't get engaged. Got married 5 months after meeting and no I wasn't pregnant.

Celebrated our 40th anniversary last year

But we had been friends for years. It’s just once we decided to be more than friends we knew we were all in.

Interesting scale here from a matter of months to years @BettyBooth hope you dont mind me asking how you both came to the decision of getting engaged so early in?

@Justkeeprollingalong me and dp are relarively young and honestly until my newborn came along these thoughts never even came into mind. But as you said I feel like we've already jumped such a huge hurdle in terms of commitment and I pratically feel like we are married, I'm wondering if maybe it's worth giving some more thought to?

@Justmuddlingalong haha no dc was a surprise so we would of never guessed we was to have a child together let alone potentionally get engaged

Got together at 18, got engaged at 24.5, married at 26. No babies till after marriage (I wanted the security).

6 years but mostly because we wanted a family. No fecking way would I have had children without getting married.
