OhToBeASeahorse · 14/10/2020 10:46

4 days post partum. Baby fell asleep on my bed so not in a safe position so I cant leave her to go and get breakfast. Thankfully someone bought me a.box of Milk Tray that I thought I could have.

Fuck me. They are rank. I've had to eat loads cos I'm.starving and my milk has just come in but talk about wasted calories.

Well you powered through them Grin

gretagreengrapes · 14/10/2020 10:48

They are usually the kind of thing in our staff room at work, and they go down verrrry slowly!

OnCandyStripeLegs · 14/10/2020 10:49

How far did you get through the second layer before you were totally convinced they were awful?

motherofsnortpigs · 14/10/2020 10:51

That is indeed massively disappointing. But seriously, how long will it take you to run and grab something from the kitchen? I’m fairly sure a 4 day old baby won’t roll over. Plus, rookie error in not having a stash of food and beverages on your bedside table. Learn quickly, my friend.

Mrsjayy · 14/10/2020 10:53

well exactly babies 4 days old can't launch themselves off beds.

Morgana7 · 14/10/2020 10:53

They used to be so nice when I was a kid in the 90s. They taste crap now. Same with Roses!

unmarkedbythat · 14/10/2020 10:54

They used to be such a treat and now they are the chocolates you buy for someone you really dislike but have to play nice with (although I am sure that is not what the person who gave them to you was thinking!!!)

Ladybird345 · 14/10/2020 10:54

I love Milktray 😊

Dozer · 14/10/2020 10:56

Have a friend who is a chocolate chemist (what a job eh): she says all the formulae / recipes have changed to add more oil etc - US style.

Unacceptable!

On the upside it’s made it easier to reduce my chocolate intake!

Dozer · 14/10/2020 10:56

Almost all the Cadburys is ruined.

Wallabyone · 14/10/2020 10:58

I got given a box of these recently and was sorely disappointed to learn that a) they've got rid of the Turkish Delight, and b) they are all very mediocre.

Dozer · 14/10/2020 10:58

Congratulations Flowers

Hoping someone gives you better chocs v soon!

doctorhamster · 14/10/2020 10:59

To be fair when you have a 4 day old baby you can legitimately text everyone to know to bring you chocolate. Hopefully something better will turn up soon!

Mrsjayy · 14/10/2020 11:02

Chocolate chemist who knew Smile

KANNET · 14/10/2020 11:03

I used to love milk tray so much. They are horrible now

JamieLeeCurtains · 14/10/2020 11:10

And the orange cream ones have been replaced with something hideous.

Maybe Trump needs all the orange cream to slather on his face. I think Mike Pence tried it and attracted a fly onto his weave because he forgot to spray it with insect repellent first.

unlikelytobe · 14/10/2020 11:17

Upgrade to Lindt or Thorntons - worth the extra.

Harmarsuperstar · 14/10/2020 11:21

All Cadbury have gone to shit 😢
I miss the pocket packs that could get in the 90s. The taste is completely different now

123rd · 14/10/2020 11:23

Agree, we don't but Cadbury's anymore. Just leaves a greasy unpleasant feeling in my mouth and no taste. Aldi or Sainsbury's own milk chocolate now

123rd · 14/10/2020 11:23

Congrats on the baby btw

garlictwist · 14/10/2020 11:23

I don't eat Cadbury's any more as it all tastes like shit. Try Tony's chocolate instead. It's amazing!

DappledThings · 14/10/2020 11:24

I must have the world's least discerning palate. I can't detect any difference in the taste or texture of chocolate in the last few years.

OhToBeASeahorse · 14/10/2020 11:25

How even on a thread like this do people have to be rude?

She was on a pillow with a muslin, I wasnt comfortable leaving her. No one else here and DH had left in a rush so couldn't leave me anything.

God.

Cadbury's went to hell in a handcart when whichever US corporation - they change name so often I've lost track, but I think it was called Kraft at the time - bought them. The new recipe is foul.

Lidl does lovely own brand fair trade chocolate without dodgy palm oil.

OhToBeASeahorse · 14/10/2020 11:26

It just didnt taste of anything. It wasnt enjoyable at all.
