Hi everyone

Amazon Prime Day is up and running - albeit a few months later than originally planned.

If you’ve not heard of it before, Prime ‘Day’ (two days in reality) is when Amazon offers Prime members exclusive discounts on all sorts of products - from tech to toys and kitchenware to clothes.

We know that not everyone is a fan of Amazon, but if you’re on the hunt for bargains this is the thread for you! We’ve put some of our favourite deals in this post, and if you let us know if you’re on the lookout for anything, in particular, we’ll see what we can find for you - and let us know on the thread if you spy any stellar discounts!

And if you want even more great deals, sign up to our Money Saver email here.

Here’s our pick of the bunch so far. Don’t forget, Prime Day lasts throughout Wednesday too, so pop back tomorrow morning for brand new discounts.

Save £40 on the Kindle Paperwhite, now £79.99

Nintendo Switch Neon (Red/Blue) + BioShock: The Collection + Borderlands Legendary Collection £299.99, was £365.99

You do need to be a Prime member to take part. Prime plans cost £79 for a year, or £7.99 a month. There's a 30-day free trial (sign up here) if you don’t want to commit to membership but want to take advantage of the great deals.

If you don’t want to pay for Prime after your free trial has ended, you can follow our handy guide on how to cancel Prime.

FYI, if you recommend deals on the thread, we might add a link into your post if we think it would be helpful to other users.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

PS If Prime Day’s not your cup of tea, don’t forget that Black Friday is just around the corner and we’re poised to bring you the best offers on the day. Make sure you check out our pages which will be rounding up the best deals on baby products and mattresses, and great offers from Boden, Lovehoney and Cottages.com.

Amazon Fire £29.99

Small basic but perfectly servicable tablet for books, audio books video, music etc. Great for kids and travel.

middleager · 13/10/2020 08:12

Thanks. I ordered an Echo Dot for £18, spreading the cost over 5 months, so at £3 a month, if I'm not impressed, it's not going to break the bank.

Carriemac · 13/10/2020 08:13

Alexa smartplug 9:99 if you order using your Alexa - should be £24:99

Just ordered marvel lego to put away for Christmas and a soup maker for myself which I've been looking at for ages!

CeibaTree · 13/10/2020 08:39

I just got this for my 4 year old's Christmas present.

Howcanwehelp · 13/10/2020 08:43

Hi all, I need over head headphones with mic for teenagers, not gaming specific as they are for the laptop. If they come in more than one colour that would be great. Can anyone help? Thanks.

zigzagbetty · 13/10/2020 08:46

Childrens fire tablets 8 £84.99 with monthy payments available www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WGKTN15/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mSvHFbN22GM6Y?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

BettyMumsnet · 13/10/2020 08:57

Great finds everyone! Grin

@Howcanwehelp, how about this havit RGB Wired Gaming Headset - it is universal so can be used on laptops and phones as well as on consoles? Down to £10.99 from £29.99.

Alternatively these Mpow H7 Wireless Headphones Over Ear could be another option. Good luck!

Lots of Sylvanian families, there's some pieces on sale at The Entertainer but these are different ones on sale. The families in particular are under £10

Howcanwehelp · 13/10/2020 09:04

Thank you @BettyMumsnet this is perfect, two added to my basket :-)

Tairbear · 13/10/2020 09:56

Thanks for the brilliant thread!

Already got two items in my basket from the recommended list

My question is, how do you spread the cost on amazon? I can't seem to find that option

whatever1980 · 13/10/2020 10:03

It'll have true option to pay in instalments on the item. Some have it and some don't

SpaceOP · 13/10/2020 10:04

I do love bio oil (it works as the best bath oil you will ever buy and it's brilliant for using in the kids baths) so always stock up on the Prime sale. It's on at £13.59 so not as discounted as last year but still good.

spiderlight · 13/10/2020 10:11

Thank you @BettyMumsnet! I'd forgotten I had a £10 prime day voucher, so I've just got that headset for my son for 99p! Grin

Gazelda · 13/10/2020 10:18

I've just ordered some Young Adult fiction books with 20% off, an OPI nail polish set, This Works Sleep Spray £13. All prime day deals.

That's all of the grandparents' Christmas gifts for DD sorted and will stop them nagging me.

And the black HP Sprocket has dropped £15 today to £104. Not Prime Day, but a bargain!

I think my DH has just ordered a Fitbit.

earthycarrots · 13/10/2020 10:29

@spiderlight

Thank you *@BettyMumsnet*! I'd forgotten I had a £10 prime day voucher, so I've just got that headset for my son for 99p! Grin
And thank you, I just saved £10 on some sports clothes as you reminded me I had a voucher too Grin
whatever1980 · 13/10/2020 10:31

I thought george foreman would've been a prime day deal - bit of a discount but not enough to tempt

catnoir1 · 13/10/2020 11:02

I used my prime day voucher and got my echo dot and another gift for £17.99 for both. Both will be given as gifts.

Lyricallie · 13/10/2020 11:12

Thanks I got collectors edition of Doom for the PS4 for a decent chunk off. I'm now eyeing up a Shark vacuum for about £150 less. I have now added the allotment book to my basket. Boyfriend will love it.

VictoriaBun · 13/10/2020 11:20

Have always been happy with my corded Sebo vacuum but have hankered for the ease of a quick swoop with a cordless. Just got the Shark anti hair wrap pet one on Prime and also the Babyliss Big Hair dual brush for £32.99 instead of ( alleged £60, lol I'm a bit of a sceptic when it comes to bargain days )

ellenpartridge · 13/10/2020 11:28

@stylishmummy I can't see any Sylvanians sets (families) under a tenner. I've just seen the otters and hedgehog families reduced but over a tenner. Have you seen anything else? Thanks v much

OhioOhioOhio · 13/10/2020 11:38

Can anyone see a bargain milk frother?

Peridot1 · 13/10/2020 11:39

There is 40% off Elizabeth Arden retinol capsules. And other nice skin care brands. Neals Yard etc.
