Sometimes when you need a good cry, you can always guarantee these films would make you cry.

What are yours?

Marley and me
War horse
(In fact most sad animal films)

And I’ve literally just watched Deep Impact and I cried again!

NeutralJanet · 05/09/2020 13:33

Mamma Mia, when they sing Slipping Through My Fingers.

milkjetmum · 05/09/2020 13:34

Awakenings, I haven't dared watch it again since robin Williams died 😭

Soubriquet · 05/09/2020 13:34

@NeutralJanet

Mamma Mia, when they sing Slipping Through My Fingers.
Oh jeez yep

And in mama Mia 2 when Sophie walks down the aisle with her daughter and Donna is at waiting at the end even though we know she’s dead

LOVE Deep Impact. The two moments that always get me are when Jenny snatches Kerry Weavers daughter from her and runs up the stairs to the helicopter pad - and on the beach, clinging to her Daddy :(

Inside I'm Dancing
Stepmom (can't even listen to Tammy and Marvin song now without welling up!)

Ellegeebee · 05/09/2020 13:36

Atonement, leaves me bereft for days

goldenslumbers1 · 05/09/2020 13:37

Brief Encounter
Steel Magnolias
The Bridges of Madison County
ET

Floods of tears, every time 🙈

Guardsman18 · 05/09/2020 13:38

The Bridges of Madison County for me too. That scene at the traffic lights ...

Mummybiscuitx · 05/09/2020 13:39

Cool runnings, the end of it just makes me blub so much

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 05/09/2020 13:41

Edward Scissorhands

As a child I was banned from watching The Snowman as I used to become hysterical when he melted (ditto All Dogs Go To Heaven)
I also was upset by the scenes in Enemy Mine where they throw rocks at the little alien boy

Stompythedinosaur · 05/09/2020 13:41

Driving Miss Daisy makes me cry every time.

Soubriquet · 05/09/2020 13:42

The two bits that always leave me baffled, was why did Sarah’s parents not force her to get on the bus WITH the baby in the first place

Why didn’t Beth beg the other woman to take her daughter too?

If I knew I didn’t have a chance to live, I would beg, borrow and steal to make sure my children did at least

Elf 😳

Soubriquet · 05/09/2020 13:43

Dumbo when Mrs Jumbo has her baby and Baby Mine is playing

Even typing that made my eyes water and I can’t hear the song baby mine without picturing poor Mrs Jumbo rocking her baby

Oh yes Titanic leaves me barely able to breathe too 😭

pheonixrebirth · 05/09/2020 13:48

The champ- when his dad has to reject his son so he can have a better life and he calls him a pain in the ass, and the kid begs to stay with him, sobbing and saying " I'll be good and I won't eat much champ"!
And at the end " wake him up Jackie" ! Breaks me every time

RiseUpWiseUpEyesUp · 05/09/2020 13:48

Anything where an animal dies, I usually avoid them now!

And Pay it Forward. One of my favourite films but Helen Hunt is brilliant in it and it always gets me!

Umbridge34 · 05/09/2020 13:48

@MostIneptThatEverStepped
