Sometimes when you need a good cry, you can always guarantee these films would make you cry.

What are yours?

Marley and me
War horse
(In fact most sad animal films)

And I’ve literally just watched Deep Impact and I cried again!

The Bridges of Madison County - the traffic lights scene 😭😭😭😭😭

Sully84 · 05/09/2020 18:57

Many already mentioned, any where an animal dies.

The Lion King
Dancing with wolves

ulanbatorismynextstop · 05/09/2020 18:58

Riv12345 · 05/09/2020 18:59

daisychain1620 · 05/09/2020 19:02

ChristmasTree999 · 05/09/2020 19:03

Oh yes I had forgotten about Mamma Mia 2!!

Echobelly · 05/09/2020 19:05

Edward Scissorhands
The Pianist
Song of the Sea
Still Alice

I cry really easily, though, I even cry at sad scenes in really crap, lightweight films

whiteroseredrose · 05/09/2020 19:38

War Horse, Marley and Me, Turner and Hooch.

NationalBust · 05/09/2020 19:50

The scene in Four Lions where he tells his wife he's going to the "top floor" in code. She knows what he's saying but can't respond. Makes me weep every time. Such an under appreciated film, some really sombre themes in amongst the ridiculous comedy.

Walkaround · 05/09/2020 19:51

Up
Manon des Sources

flametrees · 05/09/2020 19:57

About Time when he has to chose between seeing his dad and his baby.

Emma Thompson's scene in Love Actually.

BlowingmyJets · 05/09/2020 20:01

Beeches. Bambi..

Trailing1 · 05/09/2020 20:02

I still cry at Ghost. I'm not even ashamed.

Sewrainbow · 05/09/2020 20:29

Railway children and little women

Honorocarrollkelly · 05/09/2020 20:51

If you don’t cry when Beth tells Jo she will be homesick for her, even in heaven, you are made of stone. I’m talking the 1940s and 1990s versions, not the latest —rubbish— adaptation...
Also ET. The tears run every time.
And Forrest Gump, when he meets his son for the first time, and when he leaves a note from his son to Jenny, and when his Momma died....

StFrancis · 05/09/2020 21:03

Why oh why am I still reading this thread?! It's like picking a scab!

I watched the 'Baby Mine' part of Dumbo that someone mentioned earlier on YouTube and sobbed like a lunatic.

My hand is hovering over the Sophie's Choice scene out of morbid curiosity but I don't think I can take it!

LunaNorth · 05/09/2020 21:06

Arrival. I couldn’t stop crying for ages.

Beaches Blush

Kramer vs Kramer.

Coco.

LunaNorth · 05/09/2020 21:09

And Toy Story 3.

I saw it at the cinema and simply could not see to drive home.

I will never, ever watch it again. Ever.

nahdenmardybum · 05/09/2020 21:26

Life is Beautiful is the most heartwarming but harrowing film I've ever seen. The lengths he goes to protect his son kills me! Sad

KayakingOnDown · 05/09/2020 21:30

Black beauty.

I cried pretty much the whole way through.

Drivingbuttercup · 05/09/2020 21:32

Empire of the sun
