Just wondering as I suppose i shouldn't really complain but it's the heat at night, I can't stand.
Have fan on right now, windows wide, water spray and just a sheet for a cover...and it's just about bearable....

My forecast has said rain at 3 today. Then 5. Then 8pm.

Around 4 suddenly there were rumbles of thunder and then torrential rain for a little bit.

It's really cooled down the air hugely which is a massive relief for now !

On my bed I have an electric over blanket in a White cotton duvet cover and 10.5 tog quilt on top.. actually it might be more and That folks is how I slept last night
I turned the house heating off when the bedroom reached 23
Which doesn’t take long this time of year

Naturally the electric blanket wasn’t switched on... it is summer after all

Back home in Yorkshire now. It has been 29 degrees here, and at 9.30 I am still in shorts - bliss.

Youngatheart00 · 12/08/2020 21:29

It is still so hot and muggy in London. I honestly can’t remember the last time it rained where I am??? Fingers crossed for tomorrow (but not for storms overnight...they scare me and I’ve already had bad sleep for the past 5 nights)

And a little burst of heat to take the chill off the rooms being that it’s 16 outside and thick fog and only 21 in here.

I like the warm days but miss long dog walks. Our house is very old, so thick walled and relatively cool.
It’s nights that are less comfortable. We’ve moved into separate beds, so no body heat. Sheets changed ever other day. A swim before bed, so start off cool. I have a chillow left over from chemo - a big sort of body length, chilled pillow that is cooling. The air is still stifling though.

I can’t believe the forecast has been so wrong all week. I am in Yorkshire and looked at the forecast for this week before we travelled up. Said rain every day, thunderstorms and around 23-24 (which to be fair is warm for Yorkshire) I brought waterproofs, jumpers etc. It has been glorious sunshine and very warm all week. Not complaining but Jesus, how can they get the forecast so wrong? ‘They’ being the weather forecasters.

They honesty may as well not bother and we can all just look out of the window.

Ginfordinner · 13/08/2020 21:30

They got it wrong today. It has been quite chilly.

KatherineJaneway · 13/08/2020 23:06

Finally rain and thunder! It's cooler, yes!

missingmum · 13/08/2020 23:37

Yay it's only 20 degrees outside (bedroom 23) but it's such a relief to get into bed without suffocating heat, even my dog has jumped back on top of the bed, he is old old and found this heat really difficult.

Mid 20's predicted all week which is perfect.

Thunder lightning and rain now 👌
