Eeek! And I thought the lizard I found in my dog's bowl yesterday morning was weird. Is it alive?

concernedforthefuture · 10/07/2020 12:03

Oh my Christ 😱

teaflake · 10/07/2020 12:04

Double eek!

helpfulperson · 10/07/2020 12:04

That's an albino corn snake. Contact your local animal rescue. If you can put a box over it.

BoobsOnTheMoon · 10/07/2020 12:04

Holy fucking shit it's a fucking python

LemonBreeland · 10/07/2020 12:04

That is no wild snake. Definitely a large python. Eek

DaphneFanshaw · 10/07/2020 12:05

Blimey. Is it alive ?

I'd say pet snake. We only really have adders, grass snakes and smooth snakes living wild in the UK, and this doesn't look like any of them. What are you going to do with it?

BoobsOnTheMoon · 10/07/2020 12:05

Set fire to your house and the neighbours houses too for good measure, then leave and don't come back

Hinckers · 10/07/2020 12:05

OMG!

Tolleshunt · 10/07/2020 12:06

Please tell me you’re not in SW London?!

Yes, local animal rescue or RSPCA pdq.

Buzzfrightyears · 10/07/2020 12:06

The poor thing is probably cold. Can you put a box over it and call rspca or log it with 101?

Tish008 · 10/07/2020 12:07

Not a python, albino corn snake. Very much a pet.

Not venemous, unlikely to bite. They actually minic rattlers and shake their tail if unhappy but are generly very chilled snakes.

Are you able to pick it up and put it in a pillow case and somewhere warm?

hippoherostandinghere · 10/07/2020 12:07

I'm the words of Pam Shipmam 'oh my christ'
Did you just stumble upon it? Please describe your reaction! Good luck!

iklboo · 10/07/2020 12:08

Definitely an escaped pet. Not venomous. Put it in a box or pillow case and call your local vet or RSPCA. It's harmless (disclaimer - we have a pet snake and I love them).

MaryJoAnna · 10/07/2020 12:08

Oh it's beautiful! Do you feel brace enough to get it into a pillowcase?

If you put a box over try to shade it somehow so it doesn't overheat in the sun.

helpfulperson · 10/07/2020 12:09

How big is is? Compared to the flowers I'm guessing about 2 ft so not massive.

doingitforthefrill · 10/07/2020 12:10

Bloody hell OP - I weren’t expecting it to be that big of snake! That’s is 100% not a wild snake. Please say you’ve rang your local animal rescue?!

timeforawine · 10/07/2020 12:10

Shit that needs capturing asap! It looks huge, is it? Do you have a box to put over it? stop it moving off anywhere before someone can collect

Topseyt · 10/07/2020 12:13

Do you have any neighbours who you are aware like to keep unusual pets? If so ask them if they are missing a snake.

Otherwise, I would be asking the local animal rescue to come out and get it as quickly as possible because I just wouldn't like that.

Put a box or some sort of container over it if you can, with ventilation holes. Weight it down so that it can't escape while you are waiting for help to hopefully come.

Good luck.
