So glad that somebody is coming to pick him or her up, poor thing is probably lost!

Dogsaresomucheasier · 10/07/2020 13:30

I can see this thread heading for classics! I hope you get some help to rescue the poor beastie soon. A friend of mine found a corn snake hanging out in the airing cupboard when she moved into her new house.

gamerchick · 10/07/2020 13:30

How do you know this one wouldn't be dangerous though? Genuinely curious as I am terrified of snakes and would think it's like dogs - you get gentle breeds but you can't ever predict how an animal would react to being handled by a stranger?

Out of interest. What does dangerous look like to you when you look at that photo?

I hope the RSPCA can trace its owners - it may be microchipped. They are probably turning their house upside down trying to find where it's got to!

missrks · 10/07/2020 13:31

It looks like he's just eaten so it will be having a wee nap 😂

whojamaflip · 10/07/2020 13:32

If you want to contain it until the RSPCA get there just put a wellie boot down in front of it - they like dark spaces to hide and will probably slide into it.

I removed many snakes like this from peoples houses in my previous job!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 10/07/2020 13:32

That's a lot of snake.

OhMsBeliever · 10/07/2020 13:33

Why do I never find exciting things in my garden? I love snakes. Hello snake!

enjoyingscience · 10/07/2020 13:34

How exciting! Hope it’s ok poor thing. I was expecting a pic of a grass snake.

Pelleas · 10/07/2020 13:35

How do you know this one wouldn't be dangerous though?

I'm not frightened of snakes, but I don't know much about them so I'd be wary of an obviously non-native snake in my garden unless someone could confidently tell me it was harmless. I don't think it's unreasonable to be frightened of a snake in those circumstances.

Itsjustabitofbanter · 10/07/2020 13:35

It’s not a large python 😂😂 it’s a tiny corn snake!! Not wild though

Snakeomg · 10/07/2020 13:36

@Thirtyrock39

Op roughly how big is it it's hard to tell from pic ? I'm trying to face my fears vicariously through you as this is in my top ten worst nightmares !!
About 2-3 feet long I think.

@BadBear and others, please stop calling
it a python 🙄😂

LittleOgres · 10/07/2020 13:40

Hope it hasn’t eaten someone’s kitty if it has a big tum. Grin
The last thing I would ever do in this situation is pick it up and pop it in a pillow case. I’d go shrieking down the street and never return! Hope the RSPCA come soon OP. X

LaurieFairyCake · 10/07/2020 13:40

Mumsnet: "oh look at that cutie wootie snugglishisness of a snake, I just want to cuddle it's wee face against mine and stroke it's tummy wummy"

Rest of world: ITS A SNAKE 🐍!!!!!! BOMB THE WORLD TO HELL !!!!! SET IT ON FIRE

Snakeomg · 10/07/2020 13:41

Actually it’s more like 4 feet.

Please put down a welly boot. Then you can bring out your inner Woody (snigger) and say, there's a snake in ma boot.

Yorkiee · 10/07/2020 13:42

I got scared looking at it 😂😂

Snakeomg · 10/07/2020 13:42

No offence to the snake lovers, but I really don’t want it in my pillowcases or wellingtons.

EmpressSuiko · 10/07/2020 13:45

@LaurieFairyCake I thought that was the common reaction to spiders but not adorable snakes! Just look at it! It’s oozes cuteness!

Itsjustabitofbanter · 10/07/2020 13:45

Small white snow corn snake which is what it is. Compared to the massive Burmese python which is what some morons are confusing it with 😂😂

ginandgingers92 · 10/07/2020 13:46

Judging by the 'hips' it's a female, let's call her Doreen.

Itsjustabitofbanter · 10/07/2020 13:47
