There's a PEACOCK in my garden!!

DD went out at 2pm yesterday and screamed, I thought she was messing around but nope, there it was! It was actually a peahen :)
And it is still here, showing off to my cockerels and roosting in a tree for the second night!
At what point does it stop being 'that peahen' and start being 'my peahen'?

Don't worry, I am making attempts to locate an owner....... just not trying too hard....

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/06/2020 22:31

Pictures! We will need pictures!

CruCru · 16/06/2020 22:31

Do birds get chipped the way that dogs and cats do?

How amazing! Where do you live?

HasaDigaEebowai · 16/06/2020 22:34

We have one that wanders into our garden from a very nearby stately home. You won’t be so pleased when it starts screeching..

fuckinghellapeacock · 16/06/2020 22:34

I can't say where I live in case the peacock hunters come! I'll go on my phone and add a photo in a second. It is so exciting. My own Peahen. Maybe she'll lay eggs. I can see she is impressed by my Brahma cockerel :) He's MASSIVE

I'd probably put word out on your local Facebook or Nextdoor to see if anyone is missing one.

Our garden is more like the Bigg Market with woodpigeons constantly making out and fighting, at the moment.

Where I live there is a local celebrity pea hen that visits the whole village often!

fuckinghellapeacock · 16/06/2020 22:40

I have put out word on whatsapp.... I am sure someone is missing her, but I will enjoy her visit. My Thai friend said it is bad luck but I think I must be the Queen of Sheba :)

Mmmm fresh meat. Roast with some olive oil OP.

WoollyFoolly · 16/06/2020 22:43

Hmm. Swap you for about 50 incredibly annoying jackdaws?

onalongsabbatical · 16/06/2020 22:43

FluffyKittensinabasket how can you be pure evil with a name like that? Grin

mogloveseggs · 16/06/2020 22:44

Wow!

fuckinghellapeacock · 16/06/2020 22:44

We have a lot of foxes and badgers so I am glad she is in a tree for the night.

There was one that had gone missing after a storm, owner thought she had been blown away.

However, you could go through this list:

The kittens need feeding somehow, don't they?

That'll save money on Felix.

Splattherat · 16/06/2020 22:45

Are you in Cumbria we had one doing the rounds a few weeks ago?

TorkTorkBam · 16/06/2020 22:45

They are noisy buggers.

Mrhodgeymaheg · 16/06/2020 22:46

That's this weekend's dinner party sorted then. Beat that Mr and Mrs Jones.

countdowntonap · 16/06/2020 22:46

We have two different peacocks in the village that regularly get out, and we had a note through from the parish warning us that an emu was on the loose Grin a couple of weeks ago - very viscous apparently 🐦

CarolVordermansArse · 16/06/2020 22:46

I think the one I saw posted was Herts though, it was on FB in one of the missing pets groups.
