My meal planning is in a rut, I need inspiration!

What are you all eating tonight?

Sausages with roasted fennel, red peppers, courgettes and mushrooms.

Can't wait! I'm starving today!

Pepperwand · 11/06/2020 16:55

Thursday is quick easy dinner night as DC have been at nursery so DH and I will eat together later. Tonight we're just having stir fried veg with egg noodles, I make a sauce by chucking in garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, peanut butter and chilli. Will be fancy and add some cashew nuts and coriander as have them knocking around. Grin

Tomorrow we're having nachos topped with refried beans and crispy chorizo.... can't wait!

Shepherds pie. Not my favourite but it’s taking up room in the freezer.

Boiled Jersey Royals with lots of butter and parsley, turkey steaks (nut burgers for me), and salad with feta and avocados,

Tomorrow I’m starting alternate day fasting so will miss shepherds pie with green beans and broccoli. Thinking I’m going to cook a portion for myself (lentil and red wine variation) for lunch the next day or I’ll feel like I’m missing out Grin and keep putting off starting.

CoronaIsShit · 11/06/2020 17:14

I started jazzing up the beef mince in shepherd pie with some red wine, paprika, loads of garlic and use sweet potatoes and white potatoes in the mash Quackers. DC used to hate it and whinged about it now they love it.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/06/2020 17:23

McD's!!! We're so excited. And best yet, DH and DD14 are going to go queue for it. . .

Longdistance · 12/06/2020 16:57

I’m just binging in a chicken pie, chip with veg. We will have gravy.

maddiemookins16mum · 12/06/2020 17:00

Pork chops, Jersey Royals (with butter), salad and coleslaw.
Wispa Gold for pudding.

Bloodybridget · 12/06/2020 17:16

Fish pie (packet of fish pie mix with added prawns, cheese topped mash) with cavolo nero (which we should eat) or French beans (which I would prefer). Maybe some chocolate icecream with defrosted raspberries for pudding.

Bloodybridget · 12/06/2020 17:17

But tomorrow night friends are bringing fish and chips for us all (4 adults) to eat in the garden!

cliffdiver · 12/06/2020 17:20

UsernameTaken76 · 12/06/2020 17:34

Fish fingers, chips and beans here. Didn’t fancy making a fakeaway today and this seemed close enough

Lolly34h · 12/06/2020 17:40

Kids have had McDonald's a treat from their nan. Me I'll have cheese and crackers probably or a banana. Sometimes I just don't wanna eat much and I really dislike McDonald's!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 12/06/2020 17:42

We had one of those fancy, expensive wood-fired pizzas cut into quarters for our tea tonight along with a few buns, angel slices, tunnocks teacakes and some crisps. It's been a nice week, the dc have worked hard and it's the weekend so we had a little tea party!

joystir59 · 12/06/2020 17:43

Greek salad and oven chips or baked potato with coleslaw Beans and cheese

LBOCS2 · 12/06/2020 17:48

Tandoori chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, tomato salad for the adults.

Roast chicken, cold new potatoes, crudités for the kids.

RubyFakeLips · 12/06/2020 17:58

Dirty Burgers and homemade chips. DH is cooking.

Chocolate, Sweets and Popcorn for pud.

I would recommend the Roasting Tin book. Its not gourmet but as someone who resents cooking (and was previously short on time) it gave me a wide choice of easy meals. Even DC could follow the recipes and meant I could be a bit more inspired at the weekend.

Rockbird · 12/06/2020 19:35

It's Friday so it's homemade pizza day, which I always think is easy until I have to faff around with bowls of this and that so they can add their toppings. Every week this gets me.
