Right, that’s it, I’ve had enough. I’m having a day out. Who’s with me?

(Obviously this isn’t real, before you send the lockdown squad round)
I fancy a day out at Whitby. Wander along the beach. Mooch round the lanes and little shops. Fish n chips. A cold pint of shandy. Think about walking up the steps to the abbey.(then change my mind again) an ice cream then home.
Where are you running away to?

Legoland, my son is desperate to go and see the dino coaster

Fallsballs · 22/04/2020 18:46

I’ll go to the north coast, check into a shit hotel and go for a long walk along the coastal paths, dinner in a pub, back to hotel, tired, full of food and happy.

waltzingparrot · 22/04/2020 18:46

Coffee with friends at a garden centre would do me right now.

BursarsDriedFrogPills · 22/04/2020 18:46

I just want to go to the beach that's local-ish to me. It's about 45 minutes drive away so unjustifiable right now but I love it and I want to go swimming and stare at the waves and watch my DC scramble on rocks.

LemonScentedStickyBat · 22/04/2020 18:47

That is exactly the day out I want, OP, except I would have a cup of tea in place of the shandy!

MrsRonaldUlyssesSwanson · 22/04/2020 18:48

Forget the day out. I need a fortnight five star holiday with cocktails on tap, lots of sunshine and not a sodding Zoom call in sight Grin

Spied · 22/04/2020 18:49

Ooooo I'd love to have a mooch around Whitby. I'll wave at you from the open top bus and I'll look around the quaint shops find some lovely jet earrings or a necklace.
Might get one of those olde sepia photos took in the shop where you dress up.
Smoked kippers to bring home.

BrassicaBabe · 22/04/2020 18:50

I'll probably stay in. But I'll feel better knowing I could go out if I wanted GrinGrin

Rebelwithallthecause · 22/04/2020 18:51

Whitstable for me.
Hot donuts on the shore and some local cider followed by some chips.
Maybe some cockles too

Doje · 22/04/2020 18:53

I'd have lunch and a beer on the beer garden of the pub next to the river with my girl friends. DH can be there, but the kids cannot.

One beer will turn into many, then home, slightly woozy at about 7.30pm, just after the kids have gone to bed. I'd eat all sorts of crap in front of the telly.

(I do love my kids, just chould do with them not being 'there' for a little while....)

Emeeno1 · 22/04/2020 18:57

Rock pooling near Weymouth.

lljkk · 22/04/2020 18:58

I'd be happy to go to work & pretend this was all a bad dream.

WildOrchids67 · 22/04/2020 19:00

Park drinking with my friends. That'll do me nicely.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 22/04/2020 19:04

Lunch in Rye then a stroll around the town then to camber sands a long walk on the beach

Then fish and chips for tea

With ds and a few friends (evening see another friend alone ....)

ShagMeRiggins · 22/04/2020 19:08

It’s wined and dined for me here. Yeah I’d be happy enough with a coastal walk etc but if I’m shooting for the stars it’s the tasting menu at Le Gavroche with a swanky overnight in London. Me, the husband, zero electronic devices.

WoollyMollyMonkey · 22/04/2020 19:09

Oh yes please I have a serious hankering to see the sea! And a bag of fish and chips would be heaven!

tiredanddangerous · 22/04/2020 19:12

The beach. Any beach. As long as there’s sand, sea and fish and chips I’m there.

MrsJoshNavidi · 22/04/2020 19:13

Oh God! I'd give anything to be by the sea right now.
Preferably the Med, but I'd settle on the Gower.

Noworrieshere · 22/04/2020 19:13

We'll be at our favourite beach rockpooling all day then I want to be in Starbucks late at night once the kids are in bed having a good old gossip with my pal. Or if she can't come I'll take my book.

sunnyday1976 · 22/04/2020 19:18

I'll come to Whitby too, please! North York Moors Railway to get there, go crabbing with the kids, and fish and chips at the Magpie!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 22/04/2020 19:20

I’d even settle for Redcar!

OP posts:
iklboo · 22/04/2020 19:22

I'll come to Whitby too if that's ok? Cracking fish & chips.

Floexotic · 22/04/2020 19:22

These are almost unbearable to read! I’ll never take a day out or holiday for granted again!

TheClitterati · 22/04/2020 19:22

Right I'm off to gym for yoga class, swim & steam.

Then I'll cycle into the old town for a bite to eat, & coffee. Then meet my friend for a seaside stroll and a few drinks.

BlackeyedSusan · 22/04/2020 19:24

Seaside. Too bloody far from it.
