Right, that’s it, I’ve had enough. I’m having a day out. Who’s with me?

(Obviously this isn’t real, before you send the lockdown squad round)
I fancy a day out at Whitby. Wander along the beach. Mooch round the lanes and little shops. Fish n chips. A cold pint of shandy. Think about walking up the steps to the abbey.(then change my mind again) an ice cream then home.
Where are you running away to?

I've got my spf 50 on and I'm cycling on my lovely silver and blue bike down to Famara. The road is smooth and it's downhill but there's a scary crosswind. The air tastes of the sea and the wind is so loud as it whistles past my ears that I can hardly hear myself saying 'wheeee' all the way down the hill ...

derxa · 24/04/2020 18:09

I just want to see DH and DS2. They're 350 miles away.

MartySouth · 24/04/2020 18:22

I am going to get on the train and visit my dad in his care home. I'll take him some treats, we'll play a board game and do a crossword together. After that I'll wander around his town and then travel home looking at all the beautiful spring countryside.

I should be in Brighton visiting DD right now, so that's where I'm headed. Bbq on the beach, wine in the sun, walks on the Downs ...

Justploddingon · 24/04/2020 18:38

Pub garden, live band and a pint 😁

bemusedmoose · 24/04/2020 19:13

Folkestone is the place I'm missing right now - sandy beach, fossil hunting, fish and chips... Then we all nap on the train home.

Hovverry · 24/04/2020 20:29

Whitby for me too. Are there enough of us to charter a charabanc?

BetsyJameson · 24/04/2020 21:06

Is there room for me too, I love Whitby!

PrincessIsAUnicorn · 24/04/2020 23:25

I'd have a week or two in Cornwall, Padstow harbour (laughing at the woman who takes too long taking photos of her ice-cream, that when she eventually goes to eat it, a gull comes swooping in and takes it Grin. Yes this happened, her DP brought her another one) fish and chips from Chips Ahoy and an ice-cream for Harbour Ice. Holywell Bay, with a cream tea in the pub opposite the car park, the scones are warm!! Just spend the day, in and out of the sea and sunbathing. Eden Project, we haven't been for a few years now, so the change would be amazing. Actually, anywhere in Cornwall, it's the only time my DH and I truly relax Smile oh and you get roddas milk and ice-cream down there! Food, it all centres around food Grin

My God. When lockdown finishes, I'm going to Whitby to stand on the street and yell 'LTB!' or 'I own a toilet brush!' and watch the reaction, since everyone in sight is going to be a MNetter!

Rockbird · 25/04/2020 11:48

I've never been to Whitby but I'm game if there's a charabanc going.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 25/04/2020 11:53

Charabanc. 🤣 such a great word. I think we’ll Need a fleet.

Bournemouth to see my sister whose just had her baby or kick everyone else out of the house so I can have the house to my self for the first time in (I kid you not) over 8 months just to sing, tidy and chill in the day time when I don't feel exhausted. I miss hearing my toddler tell me things she's done. She doesn't bother any more as I am the one with her when she does it.

Here’s a legoland voucher for one free hold place.
VCODE V10139
Hope it's of use to someone- probably best to use it online then if someone’s used it before you you won’t be stuck at the entrance having to fork out more!
