We are having takeaway of some sort as after several days of no-one eating my food I told DH I would slit my wrists if i had to cook for the rest of the week.

Probably Indian for DH and I (a lamb something for me) and fish and chips for the Dcs. Very useful having both those shops next to each other.

Pesto Pasta with Chicken, rainbow peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion and garlic! Served with flatbread of some variety, a meal made in Minutes and eaten by all in my House Smile

Zaza1414 · 04/03/2020 15:33

Cold meat, chips and beans

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:34

oh that sounds good. I need inspiration.

About the only thing my lot eat are varying forms of chicken with carrots, celery and onions. Fuck me I am bored with that.

Do you have alot of pesto with it? Or just enough to enhance?

Weigh in tomorrow so trying not to eat any dinner 😫. Not sure what to cook for my daughter though.

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:35

Carbonara here. Maybe with garlic bread, I don't care about double carbing in this case Grin

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:36

Pip!!! Have a nice vegetable soup. You need to eat! Thanks

Fish burgers from Aldi with chips and corn on cob for kids. Homemade spinach, mushroom, potato and chickpea coconut curry for me. Waste of time trying to get the kids to eat the curry. They will only moan it will be too spicy, and that mushrooms are the devil's spawn Hmm

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:38

Fish burgers? Is that like the fish cakes made with potato? That sounds really good!

My Dcs will think it is the devil's spawn though (great phrase).

Curry.... yeah, that is a ttotal nonstarter for here. I don't get it. I ate everything when I was their age! (Except for sausage rolls which I hated).

A lovely midweek roast

IKEA888 · 04/03/2020 15:39

salad and bits and bobs here .
will make cous cous as the 16year old veggie loves that

Mrsjayy · 04/03/2020 15:39

burger and chips but ive decided to not have mine on a roll and have beans instead. i am running down my freezer and im reaching the dregsb of boxes and bags of food

ILikePaperHats · 04/03/2020 15:41

No they're not like fish cakes, no potato. Fish in a square shape (!) with breadcrumbs. They're ok actually. Makes a change from fishfingers. You can find them in freezer section at Aldi. My kids will eat most meat or fish as long as it has breadcrumbs round it Hmm

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:41

Don;t run your freezer down!!!! What if you have to stockpile because of the corona virus? (Joke).

DH is a bit of a food hoarder. I told him that we do not need to panic buy because we have already panic bought.

vampirethriller · 04/03/2020 15:44

Honey and mustard chicken done in the slow cooker, and veg. Then pancakes because my brother didn't have any on pancake day and he's coming for dinner.

CoodleMoodle · 04/03/2020 15:46

Stir fry here. Ready prepared one, at that! Veg & mushrooms, sauce and noodles from Sainsbury's, just add chicken.

That's for me and DH later, though. Kids are having pizza and baby corn.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 04/03/2020 15:47

Mango and chicken wraps

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:47

we have a million bags of pasta also. Plus tins of chopped tomato (and oddly, jars of caviar.. they must have been on special in about 2009).

Our choices for the rest fo the week are either gammon steak, jacket potato's or dirty cajun rice.

ILikePaperHats · 04/03/2020 15:50

Top tip I got from Jack Munroe: buy tinned plum tomatoes not chopped ones as they are a lot tastier: just smash them with a wooden spoon as you're cooking them

ILikePaperHats · 04/03/2020 15:51

PS what's dirty Cajun rice?

BahMooQuack · 04/03/2020 15:51

Oh deffo a top tip!

That sounds very good.
