We are having takeaway of some sort as after several days of no-one eating my food I told DH I would slit my wrists if i had to cook for the rest of the week.

Probably Indian for DH and I (a lamb something for me) and fish and chips for the Dcs. Very useful having both those shops next to each other.

Kofty curry, rice for the kids, dahl for the adults and roti

Sammi38 · 05/03/2020 14:34

lasagne, garlic bread and salad.

mbosnz · 05/03/2020 15:02

lasagne, garlic bread and salad.

My DD would be so jealous. I'd better make one next week. . .

Fish gougons and chips plus lashings of tartar sauce. Yum, if the cat lets us eat. Well ok you get some too !

BahMooQuack · 06/03/2020 09:33

We are trying out the Aldi fishburgers mentioned by ILike upthread!

last night I decided to simplify my life and do what my m um did and have a weekly rotation. So;

Mondays - a hearty veg soup and crusty bread

Tuesdays - tacos or enchiladas with different meats

Wednesday - a pasta

Thursday - a rice based dish

Fridays - Fish and potaoes of some sort

Saturdays- anything goes

Sundays - roast

I need to take the decision-making out of it as much as possible.

DH is on annual leave today so we're having chips for lunch after my run. Dinner will therefore be not required or something like toast / soup.

DC have friends over after school so it's pizza buffet for them.

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 09:39

Ohhhh we’ve had those fish burgers, they’re good. I always have mine with loads of parsley and lemon juice, and my DH has his with tartare sauce.

Aldi also do southern fried chicken breasts in the frozen section with which we make fantastic burgers. Chicken, American processed ‘cheese’ slices melted on top, sliced gherkins and jalapeño chillies, gem lettuce, Chipotle ranch dressing (homemade).

Was parents evening at DC1’s school yesterday, so was later home than usual. So we had Freezer Tapas Grin also known as: chicken nuggets, a couple of lonely fishfingers that had fallen out of the box, chips and beans - absolutely banging 👌🏻

Tonight I have no excuses so actual cooking is require. Toad in the hole I think

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 09:46

Tonight’s dinner is Aldi’s specially selected sirloin steaks, with jacket potatoes (I scoop out the flesh, mix in soured cream, salt and pepper, and spring onion and re-fill the skins) and roasted broccoli. 👍👍

A meal plan is great - like you said it takes all the stress out of it as you only have to think about it once.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 06/03/2020 09:59

Scratch made lasagne and frozen chips

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 10:06

Mmmmm I love lasagne and chips, with coleslaw! My DH introduced me to the combo and as odd as it sounds it just really works!

ThePolishWombat · 06/03/2020 10:30

God I miss lasagne Sad

I had to go dairy-free to breastfeed my allergy baby, and I would kill someone for a bit of lasagne with real cheese Sad

Sexnotgender · 06/03/2020 10:44

Going out for a quiz night and tapas tonight.

mbosnz · 06/03/2020 12:28

Dammit, I'm going to have to put a lasagne in next week's meal plan. . .

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 12:44

Yes...we don’t have pasta very often these days but I really fancy a lasagne for next week too!

mbosnz · 06/03/2020 12:59

Of course, that's assuming I can source the pasta, lol, with all the panic buying going on!

H1978 · 06/03/2020 13:20

Chicken fajita wraps

GinTonic123 · 06/03/2020 13:42

There are some really good ideas here, which I will be incorporating in my meal plan. Tonight the kids are having tomato soup with little soup pastashapes and bread rolls.
Tomorrow the children want to make diy pizza, and on Sunday we are having something called „Jägertopf“ with rice (Schnitzel in a creamy mushroom and leek sauce)

Frownette · 06/03/2020 14:01

Fish in creamy parsley sauce (yes, I do mean a boil in the bag one) and steamed broccoli

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 06/03/2020 14:54

Chippy for us tonight! It’s my lovely FIL’s birthday today and they have the most amazing chippy round the corner from their house, it would be rude not too!

theneverendinglaundry · 06/03/2020 15:11

My meal plan is telling me to have vegan stuffed peppers but I am sick to bloody death of lentils, so I may send DH out to Iceland to get pizza.

I've been mostly meat free for months but must admit I am starting to miss proper cottage pies, bolognese and lasagna.

Frownette · 06/03/2020 15:15

Can you eat quorn @theneverending laundry? Quorn mince is pretty good as a substitute

Mrsjayy · 06/03/2020 15:17

I love the boil in. The bag fish I get Young's now because birds eye is teeny tiny !

PickAChew · 06/03/2020 15:17

Aloo gobi
Stolen Chicken www.urbanrajah.com/how-to-make-Indian-curry/chicken-curry-recipes-easy-and-simple

Mrsjayy · 06/03/2020 15:19
