We are having takeaway of some sort as after several days of no-one eating my food I told DH I would slit my wrists if i had to cook for the rest of the week.

Probably Indian for DH and I (a lamb something for me) and fish and chips for the Dcs. Very useful having both those shops next to each other.

Totally lazy dinner tonight. Cheeseburgers and chips from the chip shop! I cant wait!

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 11/03/2020 12:46

Home made burgers and chunky chips, I can not wait 😃

TroysMammy · 11/03/2020 12:47

My DP is going to try a jackfruit something or other tonight. Wish me luck please.

APurpleSquirrel · 11/03/2020 13:09

Chicken Jollof for us tonight, after DC have gone to bed.

jess3817 · 11/03/2020 16:33

TroysMammy I love jackfruit! What's he making?

Easy pesto pasta with red onions and garlic mushrooms today.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/03/2020 16:40

Lasagne with homemade chocolate cheesecake for pudding

BiddyPop · 11/03/2020 16:47

Tonight, we are having a mish mash.
DD is having lamb chilli on a jacket potato (I think) or on rice - she made the chilli last night and its' quite tasty. DH is also having some on a jacket potato when he gets home late (I may need to cook an additional potato for him if DD eats the leftover from last night).

Meanwhile, I am having leftover roast lamb (from the freezer) and cauliflower cheese (also freezer) and some kind of potato. Possibly a couple of proper roast potatoes or boiled baby pots. I will also probably make some proper gravy.

I may eat my words later, with DD having something completely different, or DH being too tired to eat. However, I am confident in myself!!

BiddyPop · 11/03/2020 16:53

Oh, and blueberry cookies for dessert that DD trialled this afternoon - quite tasty!!

sockittome123 · 11/03/2020 17:14

A load of random crap here tonight - got some bacon to use up, found some weird discounted cheese bite things while shopping yesterday, would maybe go to the chip shop if I had access to one Grin

happypotamus · 11/03/2020 17:27

Orange oven things. My night shift and DC's activities leaves a small window of time and inclination to cook today, so am just putting things in the oven. DH is vegan so we have southern fried tofu bites and BBQ not-chicken goujons (random but everyone likes one or both of them), potato waffles and baked beans. Except I think I forgot to buy a tin of beans and will have to break into DH's stockpile of tins.

dellacucina · 11/03/2020 17:33

I'm trying to spend very little and empty random stuff from my cupboards

dellacucina · 11/03/2020 17:34

Oops. So tonight it will be meat stuffing balls (extra from Christmas) with gravy, noodles, and peas.

troppibambini · 11/03/2020 17:38

I'm full of a cold and feeling crap so the kids are having sausages, new potatoes, sweet corn and cucumber.
Dh said he's getting an Indian I'm going have tomato soup with white warburtons bread (my ill food)

TroysMammy · 11/03/2020 20:07

jess3817 it was a Thai curry with rice and prawn crackers. We've never had it before but having more meat free days. It added a nice texture, no distinct flavour and we will have it again. The cat thought it was chicken and mithered us for a bit until I told him it was a vegetarian dish. He made do with a small piece of prawn cracker and the freak doesn't even like prawns Grin.

caperplips · 12/03/2020 10:48

Tonight we're having Thai red chicken curry with garlic and coriander naan and poppadoms - we all love this dinner!

BiddyPop · 12/03/2020 11:16

Tonight, it is chicken kievs and whatever DD decides is going with those (as I very sensibly put her in charge of dinner to stave off boredom). In fairness, she's 14 and well able in the kitchen, but I am anticipating sweet potato wedges and possibly baked beans on the side. Or maybe boiled carrots.

Ninkanink · 12/03/2020 11:17

I’m not sure yet. Have got pasta sauce already made so could do a pasta dish, but I’m not sure I fancy it. Might do something simple like a cooked breakfast instead.

H1978 · 12/03/2020 12:03

Chicken tikka masala with Nan bread

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 12/03/2020 12:05

Home made pizza with red onion, mushroom, sweet chilli chicken and wine 🍷🍷 for me and dh

DC are having pesto topped cod, baby potatoes and broccoli

mbosnz · 12/03/2020 12:19

Fish sambal on rice tonight. . .

AdaColeman · 12/03/2020 15:01

Fillet steak with black butter sauce, quick and easy! Wine Wine

BiddyPop · 12/03/2020 18:09

I was wrong - Kiev’s are now for tomorrow. We’re having a deli cooked chicken, coleslaw and crispy bread. You leave a teen in the hands of her father (or rather, at the mercy of his whims...)

Rainb0w · 12/03/2020 20:02

I had a lovely lasagne and garlic bread for tea :-)

PenguinsOnParade · 12/03/2020 20:11

We had a rough take on a stroganoff with rice, using up mince and mushrooms in a homemade sauce (basically a white sauce but part milk/part stock, and with paprika, mustard and a few other seasonings and a square of dark chocolate to add richness.) Made it up as I went along tbh but everyone loved it.

Ninkanink · 12/03/2020 21:57

We had pasta after all. Minced beef and pork in a rich tomato and garlic sauce, with sautéed courgette and diced carrot (using up the last one in the fridge), and farfalle.

Tomorrow will be leftover roast chicken. I’ll cook down petit pois, leeks, spring onion and gem lettuce in chicken stock until the liquid has reduced and then the chicken breast will be sliced and nestled on top to warm through. Lemon juice and parsley over the top at the end and serve it with rice.
