We are having takeaway of some sort as after several days of no-one eating my food I told DH I would slit my wrists if i had to cook for the rest of the week.

Probably Indian for DH and I (a lamb something for me) and fish and chips for the Dcs. Very useful having both those shops next to each other.

OP posts:

Tonight we had leftover lamb from the Moroccan tagine I made a few days ago.

I roasted courgette, yellow pepper, tomato and red onion with garlic granules, ras el hanout, chilli flakes, salt and pepper, liberally doused in olive oil.

Made up a packet of spiced couscous, added in the roasted veg and most of the oil from the tray, microwaved the lamb for a couple of minutes and added that in too, mixed in a big handful of chopped coriander and the juice of half a lemon. Served it on a bed of rocket.

It was delicious.

I made Scotch eggs. Wholemeal bread and pumpkin seed crumb. Baked in an oven with home made sweet potato fries and some broccoli, peas and carrots.

paperdreams16 · 14/03/2020 20:58

We had beef brisket in red wine gravy with mash and greens!

TheChosenTwo · 14/03/2020 21:03

We are having pancetta and scallops, prawns and chorizo, squid, avocado and tomato salsa type thing, samphire, asparagus and some homemade sourdough.
Dh is still faffing about, I am bloody hangry Grin
Some tasty sounding dinners going on, stroganoff is one of my favourites.

happypotamus · 14/03/2020 21:23

We had mushroom and rice one pot. Turns out the recipe doesn't work with brown rice. It took 3 times longer than expected to cook and I spent the extra time reading a thread on here about people's favourite take-away. I was very disappointed by my crappy dinner after that.

dellacucina · 14/03/2020 22:15

Smoked salmon and cream pasta, one of my standard weekend dinners

Hadenoughofitall441 · 14/03/2020 22:30

The adults and dd 7 had Indian and DSis and ds12 had fish and chips.

Finallyatooth · 14/03/2020 23:10

We had minute steak. DH had his with mushrooms, and garlic butter. DS had his with ketchup (I know. I know. He is only 8). I had mine with just the garlic butter. I used my new microplane to make the garlic butter so that was fun.

I served it with homemade potato wedges, which to my joy, my DS actually ate. He's been a real fuss pot about potato and I've told him he's going to have to start eating what he's given.

HemlockStarglimmer · 14/03/2020 23:12

I had most of a big bag of Skittles followed by rhubarb and custard Blush

Ninkanink · 15/03/2020 15:07

Tonight we’re having roast pork. I’ll make braised red cabbage with apple, red onion and some cranberry and orange sauce left over from Christmas, plus another side of roasted sprouts with butter and garlic. I feel like I ought to pop out for some cheese and Stilton for afterwards!

Ninkanink · 15/03/2020 15:08

Oh and roast potatoes and gravy, of course!

happypotamus · 15/03/2020 15:36

We are supposed to be having gnocchi bake (vegan DH is out so we are making the most of the opportunity to eat something cheesy), but the supermarket didn't have any gnocchi (why are people stockpiling/ panic buying gnocchi?!), so it will be some kind of pasta bake, I think the recipe should still work with pasta.

Ninkanink · 15/03/2020 16:30

I bought some gnocchi (one pack) because it’s got a fairly long shelf life. I’ve got short-term, mid-term and long-term food items, so that I/we can isolate without any hassle (my daughter has a condition that means she is more at risk of complications).

dudsville · 15/03/2020 16:36

I mixed
a tin of tuna with
a tin of butter beans
chopped up a shallot
some fresh parsley
added a squeeze of lemon
a drizzle of olive oil
grated some pecorino
salt, fresh black pepper and some chili flakes.
Delicious!

MegaClutterSlut · 15/03/2020 16:41

Spag bol and garlic bread 🤤

ironicname · 15/03/2020 16:52

Penne pasta with tomato sauce, courgettes and smoked mozzarella sausages. Can't wait.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 15/03/2020 17:50

Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, mash and fresh veggies

maddiemookins16mum · 15/03/2020 18:19

Just had a Chinese Takeaway, it was lush.

PenguinsOnParade · 15/03/2020 18:26

DH went out about an hour and a half ago to brave the shops and buy a few things for the freezer and some pizzas for tonight. Was expecting him back already so I hope the shops haven't been as crazy as others have had.

MindatWork · 15/03/2020 18:29

Just about to cook new potatoes, veg and lamb steaks with home made red currant and port jus. Apple and blackberry crumble and custard for pud, although annoyed to see Ambrosia custard now is bloody palm oil in it Angry

TheChosenTwo · 15/03/2020 19:07

We are having roast lamb, Parmesan parsnips, roast potatoes, broccoli, kale, baby leeks in a cheese sauce and I think there’s ice cream for pudding.
Yum 😋

mbosnz · 15/03/2020 20:00

Home-made Southern fried chicken, coleslaw, fries and corn on cob.

And wine. Because right now, there's not enough wine in the world. . .

troppibambini · 15/03/2020 20:12

Roast beef,Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and parsnips and broccoli.
Chocolate pudding with ice cream for dessert.

Ninkanink · 15/03/2020 21:59

Mmmmm everything sounds delicious! I’ve got Korean fried chicken on the menu for next week. Just deciding what side(s) to do with it.

dellacucina · 15/03/2020 22:13

Homemade lentil soup made with fennel seed, carrots, turnips, and spinach mixed in as well. Olive oil drizzled on top.
