I just did a standing ovation. Powerful message!

That's it really!

Did anyone else see it?

Freeshavocado · 18/02/2020 21:05

Yes it was bloody brilliant

PorridgeAgainAbney · 18/02/2020 21:07

Who is Dave and what did he say? I'm boring and was watching a really dull episode of Endeavour. Smile

Freeshavocado · 18/02/2020 21:08

Basically called out Boris for being racist, the media for their treatment of Kate v Meghan, Windrush and grenfell

kittykatkitty · 18/02/2020 21:12

Honestly it wasn't for me.
I found it obvious and a bit lacking after stormzy last year.

vincettenoir · 18/02/2020 21:14

I loved it. What is the song called?

edgewater · 18/02/2020 21:16

I thought it was amazing. I don’t get Stormzy.

Whatevaminga · 18/02/2020 21:17

Absolutely outstanding.

buttonmoonb4tea · 18/02/2020 21:17

Everyone to their own but I thought it was fantastic.

He called out bojo at the abrupt awards to finish off, that'll do for me.

I don't know what the songs called goes to search YouTube

Dave was incredible. Whether you like that genre of music or not, there is no denying he is extremely talented.

buttonmoonb4tea · 18/02/2020 21:20

@vincettenoir here you go

OP posts:
Etinox · 18/02/2020 21:21

It was amazing. Really moving. Even more moving was the way he dropped the mike and ran at the end. He put his all into it.

vincettenoir · 18/02/2020 21:31

@buttonmoonb4tea thank you.

mintyt · 18/02/2020 21:33

Yes @Etinox I liked that too he put his all into it. I have never heard of him, how he could remember it all was amazing

PolaDeVeboise · 18/02/2020 21:33

He was absolutely incredible. Most definitely not my 'thing', but I was blown away.

Arseit · 18/02/2020 21:41

It’s a powerful song anyway. But he just ratcheted it up significantly. Great performance.

buttonmoonb4tea · 18/02/2020 21:42

The piano, the visuals, his passion, the lyrics. Just spot on.

Delivering such a powerful message on such a huge platform as the Brits must be terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.

OP posts:
Weekday28 · 18/02/2020 21:42

Yes loved it

Puppybum · 18/02/2020 21:44

Not much diversity on Stormzys set

buttonmoonb4tea · 18/02/2020 21:52

I@Puppybum sorry I don't know what you mean by that, I wasn't really paying attention to the dancers on stormzy's set

OP posts:
pisspants · 18/02/2020 22:03

got an ovation here, so well performed and the message so powerful loved the bits he added at the end too - referencing grenfell and Meghan

recordbox · 18/02/2020 22:39

Save had an awful lot to say. He did it so incredibly well.

I had never heard of him until tonight.

Popper56 · 18/02/2020 22:40

When I began 2019, I would have turned over at Grime, when my Spotify account delivered my most listened to artist at the end of 2019, it was Dave. That is mostly thanks to my 17 year old DS who commandered my phone in the car for music to play. At first I hated all that was grime, "they arent singing", "this is shite" were often my sentiments whilst my DS chose time after time these artists. I eventually switched off, until Stormsy's legendary headline slot at Glasto, my GOD! I have been known to watch that performance aka stalker levels and since then Dave, Fredo, Skepta, et al. These artists are just that, they are talented beyond their years and I am so pleased Dave got his opportunity to voice a very significant message, brilliant stuff!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 18/02/2020 22:44

he was immense
Black is an amazing song in any case, and stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it, but the extra verse at the end totally made the performance

RAOK · 18/02/2020 22:46

He’s a hero! Every single word he said it true.
