According to the YouGov poll.

I'm astounded - I thought it'd be hung again.

What do you think has caused this? Confidence in Boris or a lack of in Corbyn?

I'm terrified. The consequences are frightening.

Both but mostly lack of faith in Corbyn.

Smelborp · 28/11/2019 07:36

I’m hoping for a hung parliament. I fear for the NHS, the consequences of Brexit (with Boris’ deal we’ll be embroiled in the negotiations for the next decade or so - it won’t be ‘done’). Not to mention the cavalier approach to the law. It’s so depressing.

thefluffysideofgrey · 28/11/2019 07:36

We get the government we deserve.

Squigglypig2 · 28/11/2019 07:39

So depressing that people will vote for a party led by Mr Johnsonn a proven liar, crook and thug. I'm no Corbyn fan but pretty sure he's never arranged for a journalist to be beaten up or lied to the queen and tried to stop parliament doing its job. If they are voting for him because they want Brexit done then they're in for a disappointment at best.

Scotinthenorth · 28/11/2019 07:41

I’m delighted. I’m frightened of a Corbyn government

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 28/11/2019 07:41

I'm furious at Labour to be honest. Now is not the fucking time to be putting forward someone as divisive as JC for Prime Minister. Labour should be easy to vote for, it should be an easy choice when you consider the shit show of the Tories. And look what we have got.

I really think that the Labour Party are more concerned about appearances than what is best for the country. 'Oh look, we have gone back to our roots, isn't our lovely JC so full of integrity, look how he appeals to the young' uns and social media generation'. Whilst seemingly totally ignoring the fact that a significant proportion of their core voters moved over to the Tories a long time ago and not giving a shit about trying to get them back.

John1971 · 28/11/2019 07:42

Opinion polls for elections have a long history of being totally inaccurate.

ElluesPichulobu · 28/11/2019 07:45

I suspect we have to hit rock bottom before we can turn around. at present the Tory lies are still believed by some and the hopeless inelectability of Corbyn isn't realised by enough of the Labour party, and there are still loud cheerleaders for the joy of Brexit.

getting rid of these rose-tinted spectacles will take 5 years of hardship and the destruction of the NHS and then Labour will select an electable leader and get back to power. of course then the worst of the damage will be irreparable.

UnashamedLabelHo · 28/11/2019 07:46

Means nothing. Boris hasn’t been humiliated by Andrew Neil yet, polls are often wrong and there is still plenty of time for a huge gaffe. Polls said Hilary would win. Polls said Remain were ahead of the game by miles. They’re not accurate.

Northernlurker · 28/11/2019 07:47

If I was at Tory HQ I would be horrified by this. The other parties will not give up and Tory voters will stay home thinking it's a done deal.
I persuaded my Nan to stay at home last night. She's over 90 and her MP is Nadine Dorries.........quite pleased I've removed one vote from her.

BroomstickOfLove · 28/11/2019 07:48

Im really frightened. When I think that a third of children here are already living in poverty, I dread to imagine what the next five years will bring.

AuntieStella · 28/11/2019 07:50

Interesting

Constituency boundaries are stacked against the Tories (similar share of the vote would have produced clear Labour majority last time round)

So they must be a really long way ahead.

Though polls can be wrong, and BBC have been reporting on one which gives a 'narrower' lead (rather than 'still massive lead, but not as big as most' which is how it seemed to me when you look at the figures)

Boris is counting on Leave voters. In a 'remain' bubble, it's all too easy to believe that only the thick and misinformed support Leave and there are loads of people with regrets. That might not be true. Labour trying to appeal to Leave voters (today's apparent initiative) also suggest that it is the key issue, and that Leavers are more numerous and need to be wooed. Unfortunatelyunless tone of reporting changes, all it's doing is making it seem that Corbyn is planting Labour's ass on the fence again. And I'm far from persuaded that wouid appeal to the electorate

SouthWestmom · 28/11/2019 07:50

Disillusioned conservatives are never going to vote for Corbin. If it was Blair again maybe. But they won't go from conservative to far left - they'll suck up the concerns because to them Corbin is too far from their safety zone.
Lib Dem's might be an alternative but a lot of people have problems with their revoke not referendum campaign.

I saw this posted on Facebook last night! Facebook really is the death of politics!

Tories set for a 68 seat majority

I hoe you're joking!! And instead persuaded her to get a postal vote.

(Because the reality of putting obstacles in the way of someone voting, just because youndo not like how they, igt ote, is despicable beyond words)

MeanMrMustardSeed · 28/11/2019 07:54

@John1971 YouGov were the only poll who accurately predicted the hung parliament a few years back. They have interviewed over 100k people in the last week. We won’t know the likely result until the exit polls, which are amazingly accurate, but at the moment this is probably very accurate. A lot can happen in two weeks though.

Persuaded your elderly man not to vote, what!

Great, another few freezing cold winters.

SinkGirl · 28/11/2019 08:38

Don’t panic yet - it is YouGov after all, despite their official sounding name they are run by a notorious conservative. It’s a bit of an own goal really, since it will only encourage more tactical voting.

There’s still two weeks to go - remember the opinion polls from the last GE? Two weeks ahead no one predicted where it would end up.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 28/11/2019 08:41

Corbyn- anybody else could beat Johnson- labour have done this to themselves and screwed over the country with their defiance to keep this Steptoe terrorist sympathiser at the helm!

amusedbush · 28/11/2019 08:47

Steptoe terrorist sympathiser

BINGO!

amusedbush · 28/11/2019 08:48
