According to the YouGov poll.

I'm astounded - I thought it'd be hung again.

What do you think has caused this? Confidence in Boris or a lack of in Corbyn?

OP posts:

Excellent news but still two weeks to go and if the Tories lose 3-4 points we're in hung parliament territory.

Brexit must be done. It's oven ready.

luckygreeneyes · 28/11/2019 08:50

Labour only have themselves to blame for sticking with JC as their leader. A strong leader and labour would have walked this election

Yappy12 · 28/11/2019 08:50

Labour's spending would bankrupt the country and terrorist loving Corbyn's not fit to be PM.

Yappy12 · 28/11/2019 08:51

@luckygreeneyes

Agreed. Should have booted him out after the last election.

Shenanagins · 28/11/2019 08:53

Rather than blame the Tories, Labour have to take a long hard look at themselves and question what is making them so unelectable even when most of the voters know exactly how untrustworthy Boris is.

If they can’t make gains after this shitstorm then they only have themselves to blame.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/11/2019 08:53

I take opinion polls with a pinch of salt. A lot can happen in 2 weeks.

I am a staunch Labour supporter but honestly my head is saying the Tories will win and I can see our NHS collapsing and the disabled and poor suffering even more.

BrokenBrit · 28/11/2019 08:54

It’s a reflection of our horrifically biased right wing media who are owned by billionaires that spend every day feeding lies to the electorate.
I absolutely despair.

JPharm · 28/11/2019 09:05

At least I’m prepared for the worst now, I’ve got a few weeks to get used it, can only end up being pleasantly surprised like I was last election.

MarshaBradyo · 28/11/2019 09:08

I’m surprised at that although the polls were off last time iirc. Probably not by that much though.

MarshaBradyo · 28/11/2019 09:11

The media is a shoe in for Johnson and his Teflon lie about anything approach

Although Corbyn’s approach and high spending is hard to go with

fedup21 · 28/11/2019 09:12

Means nothing. Boris hasn’t been humiliated by Andrew Neil yet,

I thought Boris had chickened out? If not, when is his interview?

Mistlewoeandwhine · 28/11/2019 09:18

I’m so scared about what the Tories will do to the UK. I have a sister with type 1 diabetes and a child in remission from epilepsy. They will ultimately pay the price for people believing the pro Tory spin in the MSM.

Corbyn would give us all a better standard of life plus he would actively protect the environment. Fracking and global warming are a massive issue. In fifty years, big chunks of the UK will be under water but people are focusing on Brexit and whether or not JC used to be a terrorist supporter ( which he wasn’t). More people are going to suffer and die if the Tories win.

PortiaCastis · 28/11/2019 09:19

Oh lord if the ridiculously biased bbc and the rest of the media were to be believed yes there would be a Tory majority but hopefully folks can stop throwing round all the lies and silly insults and vote sensibly rather than spouting terrorist or whatever name bojo is being called today. Honestly some of the shite being slung is laughable but folks still believe it so who knows what we'll get.
God help us all

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/11/2019 09:19

Well that’s my point proven about The British Public adoring them.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 28/11/2019 09:22

As for Labour bankrupting the country, the Tories have sold off everything and who is better off? No one. Everything is already on its knees. All the big companies are let off paying their fair share of taxes. That’s all it would take. Amazon has replaced all the little shops who DID pay their taxes and the same for the coffee chains, Boots etc. All that money is OUR money and it’s all gone into the pockets of billionaires. So people die on the streets and we will all be working until we are 75.

It doesn’t need to be like this. We can have better lives under Labour.

stophuggingme · 28/11/2019 09:23

I think you shouldn’t believe everything you read.

Lies, damned lies and statistics

ACautionaryTale · 28/11/2019 09:23

Remember - Polls also notoriously under estimate the Tory vote.

People are afraid to admit voting Tory because of the vitriol they get from the left.

So if anything it might be larger.

mrsmuddlepies · 28/11/2019 09:23

Labour should be a shoe in under normal circumstances. Jeremy Corbyn made a fool of himself when interviewed by Andrew Neil. He had to admit that there would need to be massive borrowing to pay billions of pounds to Waspi women. He obviously thought it would be a vote winner from older women, ignoring the fact that younger working women and men would have to pay for this when they will be working until 68/70.
JC also refused to apologise to the Jewish Community for anti Semitic behaviour in the Labour Party. It reminds me of Ken Livingstone's foot in the mouth moments (comparing a Jewish journalist to a guard in a Death Camp). Ken would not apologise. As a teacher, I often apologised to students for upsetting them. JC won't on principle, just as Ken would never say sorry even when in the wrong.
JC thinks he is superior to many of his potential voters. More humility wouldn't go amiss.

CareOfPunts · 28/11/2019 09:24

Wtf is wrong with people.

Hell mend them. They’ll get the government they deserve. Sadly the rest of us will too.

megletthesecond · 28/11/2019 09:25

I'm not surprised. Corbyn is bloody awful (and I'm labour).

CareOfPunts · 28/11/2019 09:26

Labour should be a shoe in under normal circumstances

They should. This should be the easiest election ever! I can’t believe they haven’t got shot of Corbyn long before now.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 28/11/2019 09:35

So you don’t like Corbyn? Fine but you’d rather let the Tories in and get:

A no deal Brexit
Underfunded schools, police and the NHS
A government who sells the most weapons to the Saudis who use them to kill innocent women and kids
A homeless person dying on the streets of the UK every 19 hrs
Fracking and a general lack of care about the environment
A dissolution of the UK
Working until you are 75
Everything being a lot more expensive

It’s a no-brainer.

mrsmuddlepies · 28/11/2019 09:36

There are other voting options

OkayOkay1 · 28/11/2019 09:38

I feel like we are all being failed! I would love a hung parliament or labour to win however I do believe that there are no candidates fit to lead our country. It’s really upsetting actually. I’m really worried for the future and worried for my children 😢

Deathgrip · 28/11/2019 09:40

Labour should be a shoe in under normal circumstances

This isn’t normal circumstances though is it? No party can be a shoe in right now when the country is so thoroughly divided and for many both this and the last election were single issue elections. This is the division created by the tories because they wanted to hang on to UKIP-leaning voters.

At the last election, Labour won 40% of the vote and gained 32 seats at the last GE. Given where they started when the GE was called it was a shocking result. People have very short memories.

May was so sure that the last GE would strength their majority. She wouldn’t have called it if she didn’t believe that.
