Morning all!

This summer, they're opening the brand new Paleros Beach Resort on the western coast of Greece, and they're giving one lucky Mumsnetter the chance to go and see what all the fuss is about.

Thanks to everyone who entered - this competition is now closed.

If you missed out this time, Mark Warner have increased their exclusive Mumsnetter discount to 7% until Friday 22 March (simply quote Mumsnet when you book, if you didn't already know).

Plus, if you book before Friday, you can combine the 7% discount with a Mark Warner sun holiday special offer and save up to £200pp on top.

Discount reverts to 5% after Friday 22 March.

That looks stunning.

I'm really impressed by the range of sports on offer. Our family are quite clumsy, so not the first to do the difficult stuff like surfing. But we already love kayaking and cycling and we'd definitely have a go at paddle boarding and scuba. And I'd want to try dinghy sailing with an instructor. Years ago I windsurfed and loved it, so I might have a go at that too.

My boys and I would be in the pool all day and their dad would be beside it with drinks and books.

I like the idea of Indie Club. Our teens wouldn't want to hang around with us all the time but might be shy to make friends. Having fixed sports sessions and teen dinners sounds really good fun. They'd be up for that.

It looks so relaxing.

JammyDodgersandPeas · 07/03/2019 19:28

We'd love to explore, and kayaking sounds like a great way to do that. DH has always wanted to teach me to sail so we'd do that whilst the kids were at the clubs. And of course, eating lots of gorgeous Greek food would be high on the agenda!

Bloodylillypollen · 07/03/2019 19:32

We are avid cyclists so we would take the opportunity to explore the beautiful area in the mornings and in the afternoons we would take up some water sports and then have some down time by the pool. This will of course include a cocktail or three!

Since we’d be doing a wealth of physical activity we would be able to indulge in all the lovely food offered by the hotel.

My children have never sailed before so I’d love to take them to experience this and the weather is sure to be beautiful in Greece!

We would love to spend some time together as a family in such a lovely setting. DH and DS1 would enjoy the water sports, particularly kayaking, whilst DS2 and I play tennis. We would all make the most of the pool and best of all relaxing together in beautiful Greece after a very busy year for all of us.

TheCrowFromBelow · 07/03/2019 19:53

We’d try a range of activities but I think the waters posed would appeal to my DCs most of all. It really does look like there’s something to suit everyone and I like the fact that you’re encouraged to explore your surroundings as well as stay on site.
The setting and resort look fantastic- there would be some amazing memories from a trip like that.

UnderMajorDomoMinor · 07/03/2019 19:56

That looks amazing! I can definitely see myself on one of those sunloungers with a pile of books. I’m really impressed with how much is included!

My kids would really like the kids clubs and the swimming pool and being on the beach is just full package. DH is cycling mad and would absolutely love All the mountain biking and road biking available. I might be able to get off my Sunlounger occasionally to use the fitness classes Wink

Ginnymweasley · 07/03/2019 20:00

Looks lovely. I would be sitting relaxing by the pool or maybe on the beach. Dh would be more interested in water sports, while I would watch and sip cocktails. Dd (4) loves the pool and I don't know what ds (8 months) would do as he hasn't been in water yet. Although I'm sure he would love it.

joyule2 · 07/03/2019 20:08

We’d spend it enjoying each other company and exploring the sights of Greece which we’ve never seen or been to before as a family

Seagullslanding · 07/03/2019 20:18

it looks amazing. we would cycle in the morning then spend the afternoon chilling in the pool.

Estraya · 07/03/2019 20:51

It looks amazing! My kids never stay still for long so we'd be making the most of all the water sports available, especially the the kayaking, SUP and windsurf lessons. Plus lots of splashing about in the pool.

claracluck78 · 07/03/2019 20:51

This looks an amazing resort. We have always fancied a holiday like this but been unable to afford it, especially now the children are at school and we are limited to school holidays.

My DP would love the focus on water sports - he's interested in sailing, canoeing and paddle boarding and our 5 year old twin boys are also loving being around water. I think we'd spend lots of time in the water! When not in the water, I think our twins would love the child activities and we could take some time to relax with a book by the pool.

A gentle walk into Paleros also looks fun & we'd certainly enjoy a meal or two outside whilst watching the boats.

I'd love the chance to take our family and enjoy a break with MW

user1471522448 · 07/03/2019 20:54

Looks amazing! My 7 year old would be making the most of the half board instead of costing my a fortune in food! I would be chilling by the pool and recovering from another busy term teaching.

Epanoui · 07/03/2019 20:57

Wow, this does look very lovely.

I would most enjoy the spa, pool and dinghies (I had a go in tiny dinghies years ago in Antigua and have always longed to do it again).

DH would like the watersports, the pool and the spa. He would also enjoy the tennis.

DD would love the pool. She's not very sport but would probably be prepared to give the dinghies a go. I am guessing she would mainly be reading by the pool, though!

JoyceDivision · 07/03/2019 20:58

Gosh, I don't think I'd be able to prise DC out of the water, except to transfer from the hotel pool to scuba diving!!

foxsbiscuit · 07/03/2019 20:58

This looks awesome. I would love to take my baby here for her first holiday and take advantage of the gorgeous pools.

Tealfrog · 07/03/2019 20:59

The resort refurb looks amazing and it is a nice short transfer. What I love about Mark Warner is that, unlike lots of your cookie cutter all inclusive hotels, they truely are family holidays - there is lots for little ones, but teens are also well catered for. I like that not all food is at the hotel so you can also give back to the local area.

pinkpantsrock · 07/03/2019 21:11

waterbased fun for our family.... from water slides to playing in sea, as long as water we'd have a awesome time

MustardMonster · 07/03/2019 21:12

Wow it looks amazing! DP is a keen cyclist so he would love to explore the area by bike. DD can find fun anywhere but I know she would be ecstatic about the kids clubs! She's so sociable and would enjoy making some other little friends in the sunshine. I am more of a laze by the pool, eat, drink and relax kind of person and would love to unwind after finishing my degree for the summer.

Kaydogsdinner · 07/03/2019 21:45

It's been a while since our family had a holiday, DD1 has autism so it's been difficult to plan anything for a long time but we are finally in a place where we can do that, not to take away from other families with kids as any holiday can be stressful!!! So we won't get our hopes up but boy do we need some time away! Grinthanks to mumsnet for offering this opportunity and congrats to the winner, even if it isn't us!!

It looks a beautiful resort. I was last near there (on Lefkada) over 14 years ago, and I would love to take the children now. My eldest was only a toddler then and yet a story about how she got "stuck in a bush" near the pool one day is still something we tease her about now.

I'd like one last family holiday with her before she fills her summer holidays with work and study, and I had no idea there was a company that catered for older teenagers! Whenever I have looked at any sort of package deal before, children become "adults" at 12, and there's barely anything for teenagers offered. With so many family holidays aimed at very young children, it is refreshing to see that MW caters for my family so well.

My younger tween has never been on a summer holiday abroad, but would enter into every single family activity and kids club activity with immense enthusiasm. I can imagine her ranking each and everything in terms of enjoyment and fun.

Keen to try every activity going, we'd not be the ones round the pool every day, but we'd probably end up there at the end of each afternoon to cool down before dinner. I'd let the little one pick the restaurant each night, she'd like that.

If we go, I would enforce a gadget free holiday apart from the taking of photographs! I've increasingly wanted to try that, but I would fib to the kids and say it was a requirement of the prize 😆

Then we just might be able to reconnect after the hell of a year of moving house, changing jobs and GCSE exams.

JenMumma · 08/03/2019 09:53

Fab website :-) our little boy is a total water baby so we'd HAVE to try everything !! EVERYTHING !!

TimandGinger · 08/03/2019 14:40

We would use the pool a lot, my husband would use the watersports facilities and my son and I would also play tennis. And I'd definitely
want to use the spa!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 08/03/2019 19:44

I think I'd enjoy everything from the beautiful accommodation, the food, yoga, reading by the pool, learning water sports. Everything looks so good. The children would love every minute. My youngest is a true waterbaby so this looks like the perfect holiday for her Smile
