What a stunning resort! I could very happily holiday there. I would relax on the lounger watching my three children in the water, joining them occasionally in between books enjoying the idyllic surroundings! We would be excited to join in water sports and trips to the spa. What a lovely holiday. I'm visualising it now Grin

SnuggleSnuggleBlanket · 10/03/2019 13:48

The resort looks lush

After breakfast, DH and DD would be straight into water sports, probably kayaking. I’d relax by the pool with the complimentary towel (why is it so much nicer having hotel towels?!)

We’d have some lunch all together and then DH and I would swap parenting duties and he’d go off to the gym or tennis courts, and dd and I would hit the pool and make use of the entertainment or go cycling.

Dinner in Greece would be amazing. I’m hungry just thinking about it now Wink

A lovely part of Greece.

The resort looks lovely with a good balance of greenery and water sports. With 2 teenagers I'm sure that the watersports and tennis would appeal and hopefully tire them out while making friends. From dawn to dusk they would be active and not playing with electronics devices. Food looks good allowing exploration of the local area and the rooms have a fantastic set up with some independence for the teens.

We'd be trying to work out which activities and facilities would be accessible to our family as the website, which looks amazing for DH, DS2 and I, has no information I can find for DS1 with autism and dyspraxia.

DS2 would throw himself into everything. Anything physical he just loves, especially if there are similar age children around he can join in with. A bit of variety from his siblings. DD is a water baby and would just want to be in the water floating and swimming around. She'd be gently persuaded to try different activities and would enjoy some of them - we have kayaked before, with gentle pressure she does all sorts - recently in Lapland after a few days watching her middle brother she was happily flying down a steep slope on a sled and loved husky and reindeer sled riding.

I can't work out if the interconnecting rooms accomodate two plus two or two plus three. There's mention of the connecting room having space for a sofa bed. We're a family of five and this can be a massive travel headache.

It's a bit sad to go on holiday and have DH in a room with the boys and me in another with our daughter.

As a family if five I guess we don't qualify for this competition (even though I got excited to see Manchester airport being an option yeh for the clever people who realised the world - and disposable income, exists outside London).

I'm hoping someone might be reading the thread and clarify a bit more information about accessibility on this and other actual sites and the actual size of acomodation options available.

notfunnyhaha85 · 10/03/2019 14:45

The resort looks heavenly!

If we were lucky enough to be chosen we would most likely spend our days by the pool or playing on the beach. DH and our oldest DC would definitely get involved in the water sport activities, especially the kayaking.

DH and I would also take advantage of the evening childcare facilities and take ourselves in to Paleros for a quiet child free dinner and some local Greek cuisine Smile

Slurpy · 10/03/2019 15:51

Looks beautiful. We'd spend plenty of time in that pool, but it would be a shame to not try out some water sports and do some exploring. I'd enjoy the yoga too, and the food of course. I love Greece.

EnFlique · 10/03/2019 15:56

Oh that looks beautiful!
We would definitely be in the pool at least part of the day. For the rest of the time we would take advantage of the activities on offer, try and explore the local area and maybe one day use the kids club to allow for some peace and quiet!

Been ages since I’ve been abroad and DP and DD have never been so it would be very exciting!

Bowchicawowow · 10/03/2019 15:58

We can’t go in holiday with Mark Warner because once, when we did, it was totally unsuitable for DP and when we asked for help the company were vile. I had told them he has mobility issues but they didn’t give a shit.

mistywillow17 · 10/03/2019 16:12

That looks beautiful. I would hope to spend some time trying out the different activities, but we would probably spend the majority of our time swimming with our son.

Justonemorepancake · 10/03/2019 16:18

Looks gorgeous. I was ace at waterskiing as a teen - eager to see if I've still got the knack pushing 40! Beach and pool would take up most of our time I'd imagine, but my son is a keen cyclist (and swimmer) so we'd be off on a few bike rides too! Then just stuffing our faces with Greek food- my favourite!

Scienceforthewin · 10/03/2019 16:29

Swimming in the pool for us. DDs (x2) will swim endlessly, and delight in making friends. Before you know it they have organized a mass game of Marco Polo or a train of pool inflatables with every child they can fit on!

HighlightsandHeels · 10/03/2019 16:29

We went to Levante a couple of years ago with MW and despite having travelled all around the world with the DC they still say it's their best holiday ever.

I'd spend the day at Paleros lying by the pool whilst the kids swam, sailed, paddle boarded and just generally exhausted themselves. My DH would cycle And we'd all meet up in the evening happy with our days and eat stuff our faces with Greek food. Bliss.

jocktamsonsbairn · 10/03/2019 16:36

Wow! Looks amazing! It would be the watersports for us! Especially my teen DC. I would also enjoy relaxing on the beach and we would definitely be in that pool a lot. Plus eating delicious Greek food and exploring the local area. Fingers crossed!!

rookiemere · 10/03/2019 16:43

With an only DC soon to be teen, a Neilson holiday looks very attractive, particularly with bedrooms designed for families not to sleep in the same area.

I can see DS trying the wakeboarding with DH , I'd probably settle for some poolside activities.

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 10/03/2019 16:49

A nice mix between lazing round the Pool and taking in the local atmosphere. The resort looks gorgeous!

HeyMicky · 10/03/2019 16:55

We love Mark Warner. We've been to both the other Greek resorts.

This one looks gorgeous and we'd love to go! I mostly want to laze by the pool, interspersed with aerobics classes. DH wants to sail, and the DDs want to stay in the pool until they're prunes.

For childcare, there is no other company doing such a good job for European holidays. I love that the childcare staff are trained and registered in the UK. The activities are always well planned and varied. I love seeing my kids' groups wander through the resort on the way to sailing or sailboarding or swimming. I feel constantly reassured about their safety - ratios are great and the staff are so engaged. They go every morning so DH and I get a break then we all have time together in the afternoon. But you never feel far away as you see them pottering about and can go and see them anytime. The end of week performance is very sweet - I've heard them practicing their songs during the week on the way to activities. And the cost of childcare is included!

Evenings are great, too. High tea is a great idea - my two are often shattered after a full day of activities and swimming so an early supper is perfect. And one or two nights they go to the listening service - a movie then their own little beds til we collect them. They're safe, and entertained, and we can have a leisurely dinner together. We've also used the babysittering service so we can head out for dinner in the local town - absolutely no issues and reasonable rates.

We've seen the older children, too, and will definitely consider Mark Warner when ours are teens - they seem to get a great deal of independence in a very secure setting.

Food is great - always a super buffet that's very fresh and local. Definitely doesn't feel beige or catering for the pizza-and-chips brigade. The wine at meal times is decent quality, too. Lots of snacks and drinks available throughout the day as well. There's always somewhere pretty for a sundowner as well Wink

DH and I have been able to sail together, and take the kids out on the boats as well. Tennis too, which DD1 loves. DH has also been on scuba tours arranged from the resort. Lots of activities to do - the fitness programme is a good way to keep up the good work done before summer to lose weight. Really cheery instructors and a range of levels and styles to choose from. We've also hired bikes to tour locally which is a great way to get around. The adults-only pool is also a lovely touch - I love my own kids but sometimes want to swim without an inflatable smacking me in the face. I've also never once had to fight over a sun lounger - plenty of umbrellas by the pool and on the beach as well.

Airport transfers are incredibly well organised - the team meeting arrivals are a MACHINE - and check-in is a breeze. Lovely clean rooms, well suited for families. All staff are very helpful and knowledgeable; the wait staff and cleaning teams are always very kind to the children. The resorts are a good size to get around - everything is easy to access but you don't have the disco or pool right outside your room. The welcome evening and quizzes and discos are a great way to get to know some other families.

Like I said, we really love Mark Warner Smile

Cismyfatarse1 · 10/03/2019 16:55

We would laze, eat the lovely food and then have short bursts of activity. Water based stuff looks amazing and the location looks really beautiful and all very well laid out.

I would love this! Teaching means summer holidays are often expensive so this would be a great family break.

Tanfastic · 10/03/2019 17:04

We'd be up for some cycling and water sports but those amazing sun loungers and pool are calling me! Looks lovely 😊

CuppaSarah · 10/03/2019 17:10

I'm not gonna lie. The kids will be enjoying the kids club while me and my husband enjoy some water sports and quiet meals. Grin

We'd be spending our evenings together watching the sunset though. Lots of time together by the pool too.

Ashhead24 · 10/03/2019 17:12

Pool, kids club and food :D

Caillou · 10/03/2019 17:13

The resort looks amazing,

I believe we would start the day with a breakfast on the balcony, spending quality time together

We would then head over to the swimming pool for all of us to enjoy splashing around, swimming, and catching some sun.

After a lunch of local delicacies, we would most likely go hiking and explore around the resort,

Finally after such a busy but relaxing day we would enjoy a picnic on the beach watching the sunset and making plans for the following day.

Devondreaming · 10/03/2019 18:12

What a lovely looking resort. It’s in a stunning part of Greece too, I remember visiting that area about 20 years ago.

I would take my 12 and 10 year olds and they would adore sailing the dinghys. I know Mark Warner allows kids to take the RYA Youth Stage sailing qualifications at their resorts so they would both want to do that as they already love sailing.

I would enjoy the yoga and the paddle boarding plus not having to cook or entertain the kids. I know my husband would enjoy playing tennis and meeting people through the tennis. He’s also keen on trying windsurfing. Overall I think we would all enjoy a week in such a gorgeous resort with so many fun activities on offer.

GenericHamster · 10/03/2019 18:55

The resort is beautiful. We've never been abroad as a family so I think the main thing we'd enjoy is soaking up the sun. I went to Greece as a child and enjoyed it so I'd also be looking to see what culture we could visit locally.

clam77 · 10/03/2019 19:53

My two daughters have never been abroad so would absolutely love this.
I am disabled so I would send my hubby and kids of to try out all the activities while I check out the pools and spa!

AssignedFuckerAtBirth · 10/03/2019 20:02

WOW Mark Warner that resort looks so beautiful. As a family we have not had a holiday abroad in about 10 years. We would love the opportunity to try this out and give feedback on our experience.
As to what we would do, the answer is everything!! We would try to pack in as much as possible. Sunbathing, sightseeing, eating out, long walks etc. I'm packing my virtual suitcase in my mind as I type! smile
