I was watching and old episode of Bruce’s price is right on this morning and saw an old work colleague...I texted her and she confirmed it, even though it was nearly 20 years ago...

Have you or anyone you know been on a TV show? And what game show would you love to be a contestant on?

My boyfriend has been on pointless with his dad and one of my old neighbours was on Trisha ( remember that talk show!!)

I would loooove to go on to the chase!

Mate was in an episode of that history program with Baldrick where they dig up places and find interesting things.

Think mate may have been doing archaeological stuff at uni at the time. He's a history teacher now though.

Was a local one. So Bath, maybe Salisbury? Not sure where.

userschmoozer · 02/02/2019 10:50

No but I've been in the audience a lot. If you can hear someone laughing far too loudly its probably me.

AlpacaPicnic · 02/02/2019 10:51

I was in a small local info program about joining something to do with Europe. The eec maybe? It was the late 80s/very early 90s as I was in primary school. It was all local school children. All I remember was that we had to shout the names of European countries and there was a big cake in the shape of Europe that we got to eat - and take home the leftovers! And there was a scramble over the chocolate cake and nobody wanted the coconut cake.
It was called Eric the Brit.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 02/02/2019 10:56

I know someone who went on "come dine with me". Didn't win.

Witchend · 02/02/2019 10:58

Dd's been on the One Show.

(Actually so have I but all you can see thankfully is my back)

Birdsgottafly · 02/02/2019 10:59

Jeremy Kyle. I don't know why they did it, it was just embarrassing.

Recently Naked Attraction. I'm sorry I watched it, tbh.

Crime watch and one of the 'behind bars' programmes.

Perhaps I need to rethink the company that I keep.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 02/02/2019 11:00

My Dd was a contestant on a CBBC show called 'Crisis Conrol' when she was only 7. We were flown from Scotland to Heathrow then collected and taken to a hotel in Surrey for 2 nights. She and the other kids were taken away in a minibus for a 13 hr filming day and the parents were taken along to watch the last hour of the session. It was such hard work for the them, they had to repeat everything (including showing enthusiasm) over and over again. They were well looked after by catering and staff and had a converted bus to rest in, but DD came back to the hotel absolutely exhausted.

My mate was on Blind Date back in the 80s. He was the picker, so got to go on the holiday etc too. He became a bit of a local sleb, as you can imagine.Grin

Birdsgottafly · 02/02/2019 11:01

I'd forgotten Come Dine With Me. She was later invited on Big Brothers bit on the side and a few other things.

She had loads of fun, free food/drink.

Tutulafromage · 02/02/2019 11:02

@birdsgottafly Naked Attraction.....I couldn’t look that person in face again lol

I've been on Pointless and will be on another quiz show later this year.

I'd love to go on Millionaire or £100k drop. Or a body in CSI Blush

Birdsgottafly · 02/02/2019 11:04

My ex Son In Law was on a Panorama program about under age drinking, when he was 14. He had to be picked up by an ambulance and treated in hospital.

MoggEatMoggWorld · 02/02/2019 11:05

I’ve been on The Chase and I won Grin

Bradley is ace.

Birdsgottafly · 02/02/2019 11:05

Tutulafromage, one I see regularly and it's changed things. The other was my DD's best friend at school and I'm sorry I watched it.

Tutulafromage · 02/02/2019 11:05

@skyejuly how did he do?

My friends, and their business, were on Four in a bed. They were lovely to everyone (they are just very nice people) and came across really well but didn’t win. The woman who won had been friendly to everyone’s face but in the edit had actually said some really horrible things about all the other businesses. Made friend a bit sad. They got lots more business from it though!
