I was watching and old episode of Bruce’s price is right on this morning and saw an old work colleague...I texted her and she confirmed it, even though it was nearly 20 years ago...

Have you or anyone you know been on a TV show? And what game show would you love to be a contestant on?

My boyfriend has been on pointless with his dad and one of my old neighbours was on Trisha ( remember that talk show!!)

I would loooove to go on to the chase!

Godson as a student was on that programme with Ann Robinson (cannot think of its name) and won 1k. Wasn't too complimentary about Ms R.

DM was seen fleetingly in the Hospital filmed in Nottingham last winter. Glad they didn't speak to her because she was as confused as old Reilly at the time.

Daughter of someone I sort of know (worked with a couple of times) was in the recent Channel 4 series of children mixing with residents from a local older peoples'complex. They did an interview on Breakfast TV about it.

I was once seen in the crowd at a football match. It was cold, rainy and boring and the cameras scanned the crowd and rested on my looking pissed off.

DH was on Eggheads a few years ago - he didn't win!

aimingforthesky · 02/02/2019 19:04

I work in laboratory type area and have been in the background for embarrassing bodies, diet doctor, truth about slim people and many others. Usually the back of my head or hand moving the computer mouse so not recognisable by anyone else! Oh yes and won supermarket sweep 22 years ago- I was rubbish but my friend was ace.

Tutulafromage · 02/02/2019 19:08

@charliebubbles88 that’s a lovely touch about your dad having the theme tune at his funeral.

Oh God, I meant Chicago FD. So wish there was an edit button on MN

Parthenope · 02/02/2019 19:08

I've been a talking head on a few book programmes. I'm never nervous, because I hardly ever watch TV myself, so I never really believe anyone else will have seen them, and am taken aback when they mention it.

Magenta46 · 02/02/2019 19:08

Me. A shite scripted reality/ documentry/ farce.I doubt more than 1000 people have seen it.Grin

Tutulafromage · 02/02/2019 19:10

I don't think I know anyone who's been on a tv show, and I would never go on one myself tbh. I don't find the idea of being in the public eye, however briefly, or having my five minutes of 'fame' remotely appealing. Wouldn't do it if you paid me.

An ex colleague is now an actor and has been on Emmerdale (short storyline, he had one scene per episode for about 2 weeks then disappeared again), casualty (was a patient so only one episode) and in a few adverts. He mostly does local/touring theatre though.

Another ex colleague was on come dine with me. He did not come out of it looking good. His dinner was crap and he was bitchy about the others.

I went to school with Donna Air, although I don't know her now. I didn't really like her, but she was in a lot of my classes when she was in Byker Grove. At the time I also met Ant and Dec, separately. They were pretty nice normal teen-agers, although obviously they were also on Byker Grove.

My husband was on Jim'll fix it as an extra! We also know Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead).

HowlsMovingBungalow · 02/02/2019 19:18

I know someone who has been in major BIG blockbuster films. Not friends per say but he lived with my best friends relative (flatshare). He really is a lovely bloke.

DP's school friend was on CDWIM.

A distant cousin of my mother was on Crossroads.

PlumCakeChica · 02/02/2019 19:20

Tutulafromage · 02/02/2019 19:21

And yes I went to the isle of fernando (Tenerife)
Good times!

HouseyMcHouseFace · 02/02/2019 19:23

I was in The Queens Nose with Robert Pattinson. Which no one believes because it’s not listed on his Wikipedia page. I gave him 50p once so he could buy some crisps and he never paid me back.

Someaddedsugar · 02/02/2019 19:27

A guy I went to uni with was on Location, Location, Location (can’t remember the outcome) and Totak Wipeout (he didn’t win).

A guy I went to college and worked with is currently on Geordie Shore - I don’t watch it but have seen the adverts while flicking through channels!

yearofthehorse · 02/02/2019 19:28

DS was on a kids reality show, The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

CharlieBubbles88 · 02/02/2019 19:29

Tutulafromage it was slightly bizarre but he would have loved it. He also lived with Daley Thompson when he was younger who visited him in hospital when he was unwell. He also got a mention in his book

I went to a funeral a little while ago and there were a few egg heads there. My Mum thought she recognised Chris Hughes from the corner shop!

VQ1970 · 02/02/2019 19:29

DareDevil223

I wonder if I've seen your son. We watch UC and OC and I'm always spotting people that have appeared on both. They're our Monday night viewing!

goose1964 · 02/02/2019 19:35

My son's ex flat mate was on the weakest link. He was kicked out in the first round

RevolvingBananaHaiku · 02/02/2019 19:38

ssd She's doing bloody well considering, but it's had a huge impact on her as she's a performer as well as a designer. Fingers crossed!

EggysMom · 02/02/2019 19:41

My belly has been on telly Grin My pregnancy featured on a one-off documentary about pregnancies (not OBEM) shown just over eight years ago. It was an interesting insight into how they film, with repeated scenes from different angles, separately-filmed reaction shots, etc.

princessTiasmum · 02/02/2019 19:42

I know a couple who went on Jeremy Kyle, also a someone was on 4 in a bed, she didnt win, a friend of my daughters was on Deal or no deal, she said Noel Edmonds was horrible
I had the chance years ago to go on double your money, Hughie Green] asked to go for an audition but wouldnt go, my workmates nominated me, for spelling as i beat them all at a spelling contest, i was only 15 in my first job
