I was watching and old episode of Bruce’s price is right on this morning and saw an old work colleague...I texted her and she confirmed it, even though it was nearly 20 years ago...

Have you or anyone you know been on a TV show? And what game show would you love to be a contestant on?

My boyfriend has been on pointless with his dad and one of my old neighbours was on Trisha ( remember that talk show!!)

I would loooove to go on to the chase!

I was in an advert about 20 years ago and in a tourism programme.

Ethel80 · 02/02/2019 11:13

A friend won Pointless and some colleagues did Eggheads but didn't win. A cousin went on come dine with me.

A relative has been on telly and in a film.

Yulebealrite · 02/02/2019 11:20

I was on the local news once in a segment about local schools. I didn't speak.

I grew up in hell quite a rough area where a lot of the kids were dragged up and acted more like animals than children. I often see them on Jeremy Kyle and those programmes on c4 about prolific offenders. Can't help but find it funny Grin

RevolvingBananaHaiku · 02/02/2019 11:29

DF and DM were on Homes Under The Hammer in the audience Grin

Friend of mine was on Naked Attraction and she was bloody gorgeous. Was recently in a horrific car accident in the US and has recently be transferred back to the UK. Broken legs, arms, collarbone... awful Sad

RevolvingBananaHaiku · 02/02/2019 11:30

*auction scene, not audience!

Hairydilemma · 02/02/2019 11:32

I won the Weakest Link Grin

My next plan is to apply for Millionaire but I missed the last round of applications so that’s not going so well as yet...

Oldraver · 02/02/2019 11:33

My son was on The Real A+E after he dislocated his shoulder for about the 8th time. He was away with the faries on gas and air and just sounded robotic.

What he didnt know till the programme went out was due to him being very muscly and the A+E doctor being very tiny she couldn't locate it first time, so had to consult a book as to alternative methods. She can be seen 'practising' briefly with someone else.

It was on constant repeat so he would always gets texts everytime it was on

Binglebong · 02/02/2019 11:44

Someone I was in college with (performing arts course) was third lead in a Ben Kingsley film. He was very good.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 02/02/2019 11:46

My mum and dad had a 15 second slot on the One Show. I forgot to watch it Blush

Hen2018 · 02/02/2019 11:48

I was on the local news a few times as a child as I went to an incredibly small primary school that the parents had to keep fighting to keep open.

Then I was on GMTV for several minutes in the background of an election, working for the elections team! Lots of people saw that.

FrenchyQ · 02/02/2019 11:53

An ex boyfriend was on the salon on E4 (early 2000's), he had his chest waxed on live tv.

I'd love to go on Pointless but haven't managed to convince DH to do it with me

StocktonGalaDays · 02/02/2019 12:04

Another Pointless person here. I went on with my son and won the trophy and the jackpot. It was a brilliant experience. I've also been on eggheads years ago with work colleagues. We didn't win that but had a great time.

dalmatianmad · 02/02/2019 12:13

I'm an A+E Sister and I've been on 24 hours in A+E lots of times and have filmed some really heart breaking sad stuff.

I've just finished filming another series and I've said I'm not doing it again! Bloody stressful....

MsJuniper · 02/02/2019 12:27

@MoggEatMoggWorld that is really impressive, it's a hard one to win! DH went on the chase but didn't get through to the final round, such a shame as he is so good with general knowledge but the questions just didn't go his way.

TheSpottedZebra · 02/02/2019 13:00

dalmatianmad I've always wondered how they deal with filming consent for patients on those programmes - pls can you tell me? When do they get consent?

VenusClapTrap · 02/02/2019 13:00

DS was on Secret Life of Four Year Olds. I appear at the beginning, dropping him off. He loved it, and he was gutted when he didn’t get picked to do the second week!

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 02/02/2019 13:04

A friend won on the Chase
An assistant head at my school was on panorama on a piece about binge drinking (he was drunk in the street)
My son was on panorama on a piece about childcare costs.
I was on the local news as a kid talking about having a computer suite put in our school, when this concept was very novel. And I've been on teachers tv twice, not that anyone ever watched it.

thenightsky · 02/02/2019 13:10

Friend of mine went on the Xmas edition of Blind Date. They all wore evening dresses and hers had a big side split. She didn't realise that when she sat on the tall stool behind the screen her entire leg would be on show. Cilla did comment!

My sister went on Kilroy many years ago.

Another friend was on Question Time very recently.

MoggEatMoggWorld · 02/02/2019 13:13

Thanks MsJuniper! That’s bad luck for your DH, I was definitely fortunate the way some of the questions fell to my strengths/knowledge. I found it incredibly nerve-wracking and you really second guess yourself on the most obvious things!

AgeBeforeBeauty · 02/02/2019 13:17

Mogg, was it a stressful application process? Does the filming all happen in a few hours?

And more importantly, how much did you win? :)

Mamabearx4 · 02/02/2019 13:21

Yes I was on an early morning tv kids show back in the 80's. All I will say is "magic word"
My son had his photo flashed up on kids show shout outs

I was also singing on children in need.

TheQueef · 02/02/2019 13:22

I wish someone who did hells kitchen with MPW would pop up.

I dreamed of standing near him, bet he was ace.

DareDevil223 · 02/02/2019 13:23

Someone I worked with many years ago won a series of Fifteen to One.

My DS has been on University Challenge and Only Connect Smile
