I was watching and old episode of Bruce’s price is right on this morning and saw an old work colleague...I texted her and she confirmed it, even though it was nearly 20 years ago...

Have you or anyone you know been on a TV show? And what game show would you love to be a contestant on?

My boyfriend has been on pointless with his dad and one of my old neighbours was on Trisha ( remember that talk show!!)

I would loooove to go on to the chase!

Someone I knew was on Blind Date. I don't think they were picked. He was sort of goofing off and being funny.

A neighbor won Name That Tune. She won a car. We were all very surprised that you can't just drive off with it. They send you a catalogue and you can choose the color, etc. and then it's delivered months later.

My neighbour was on Bargain Hunt with her sister. They were the red team and lost. Spectacularly.
She was also on The Chase. The beast was the chaser on the day and again lost. Spectacularly.
A couple of years ago she went in Come Dine With Me, and lost.
By one point. She said that was even worse than losing spectacularly. Grin

I was on Crackerjack as a schoolchild in the 1960’s, when Michael Aspel was hosting it! Mary Hopkin was the guest star - she sang “Those were the days”.
Thankfully, I didn’t win the game, so my classmate had to do the quiz section instead of me - I’d have been petrified.

My brother was on 15 to 1 (glamorous, I know) and my dad on University Challenge when he was doing his PhD about 10 years ago.

I've been on Blue Peter (albeit in a group) and on Saturday Morning Kitchen with my mum and sister.

TheQueef · 02/02/2019 13:29

Echo did you meet James then?

SheSnapsThenSheFarts · 02/02/2019 13:32

My friend from Uni was on Supermarket Sweep. She lost and never got to pick up an inflatable banana / frozen turkey on the last trolley dash. I was both disappointed in her and for her....

McPuff · 02/02/2019 13:48

Name changed as outing but I was a picker on Blind Date in the (very) late 90s Grin
I applied for the Countdown job when Carol Vorderman resigned (I'm in finance so not too big a leap) and it's the only time I've put that appearance on my CVSmile

I went on a kids T.V. show called, 'Saturday Banana' which was hosted by Bill Oddie. There was a segment called, 'Runaround' based on the Mike Reid hosted kids show of the same name. I didn't win. (I've looked for that show on You Tube in the vain hope of finding my bit and seeing what I looked like.)

My face, I'm sure, has been used to advertise Boots the chemist, back in 1992. I was in a crowd photo of the world's largest aerobics class, hosted by Roy Castle and the photo was then later used for an advert.

My parents' next door neighbours' house was on Homes Under the Hammer.

MunchMunch · 02/02/2019 13:57

I know someone who has been on tipping point.

Dd has been on the local news for children in need.

Dh's distant relation has been/is on a couple of popular soaps.

I was watching Supermarket Sweep a few months back when I recognised a woman who lives in my area and I used to serve when I worked at the local supermarket.

Piffyonarockbun · 02/02/2019 13:57

I won on impossible on bbc1. It was fun (and not impossible!!)

StableGenius · 02/02/2019 14:11

I called Saturday Superstore in 198something to ask a question of a new Blue Peter presenter. Mike Read told me I had a great voice for television and radio Grin.

Was also in a segment on a Sunday lunchtime politics show (can't remember the name) filmed at my college Christmas ball. Was glad they got a few shots of my stupendous dress. Was even gladder they didn't film later into the night, as said stupendous dress lost an ornament on the bodice during a drunken clinch Blush.

beachbodyunready · 02/02/2019 15:18

@MoggEatMoggWorld I was on the Chase as well, I also won. 😄

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 02/02/2019 15:25

Hubby was recently on The Chase and they won £25k between three of them. He and another team mate got £10k in the cash builder.

Hubby has also been on Tipping Point but didn't win.

I've never been on anything but have just applied for Bargain Hunt.

PavlovianLunge · 02/02/2019 15:27

I know (but haven’t seen for many years) someone who was on Come Dine With Me and won, I think.

They’re now a published cook-book author and doing well. Always had bags of ambition and talent, so I’m not surprised.

Not a game show, but DP and I were on Escape to the Country.

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 02/02/2019 15:27

My cousin's wife did Come Done With Mr. She didn't win but they all got on well and are still meeting up every couple of months five years later.

StarkintheSouth · 02/02/2019 15:27

My friend was on countdown!

FairfaxAikman · 02/02/2019 15:30

My cousin was on can't cook, won't cook (he was the can't) years ago.

More recently a colleague was on Pointless and had the shot ripped out of him for ages about one of his wrong answers (they did win on their second shot though).

BitchQueen90 · 02/02/2019 15:34

I dated somebody who was on Big Brother.

Someone I went to school with (haven't seen him since we left) was on The Chase and was just as arrogant and smug as I remember him.

FairfaxAikman · 02/02/2019 15:34

Oh and an old uni pal is now an actor and was in series two of Outlander, while I've been in a documentary for the Japanese equivalent of the BBC.

Wingingeverything · 02/02/2019 15:37

I was on Gok's fashion fix and the evening news(local). I would love to go on the chase!😊

lavalampoon · 02/02/2019 15:49

An old friend was on snog marry avoid

Another went on take me out

An ex friend completely humiliated herself on big brother a couple of years ago. Her behaviour was so awful a lot of people distanced themselves. I feel very sorry for her parents

Mmmmdanone · 02/02/2019 15:51

I was on Rolf on Saturday with my school many years ago! I hid in the background though so hardly a starring role.

Mmmmdanone · 02/02/2019 15:52

Also I was on the BBC news once.

Watto1 · 02/02/2019 15:55

My first boyfriend from my schooldays was on master chef. It was quite a shock when he popped up on screen! He went out in the first round but to be fair he was up against Thomasina Myers.

Ffsnosexallowed · 02/02/2019 15:56

Dp has been on a few, horizon, some Angela Rippon thing about exercise and the news a few times. It was a bit weird when a woman recognised him in Tesco!
