I was watching and old episode of Bruce’s price is right on this morning and saw an old work colleague...I texted her and she confirmed it, even though it was nearly 20 years ago...

Have you or anyone you know been on a TV show? And what game show would you love to be a contestant on?

My boyfriend has been on pointless with his dad and one of my old neighbours was on Trisha ( remember that talk show!!)

I would loooove to go on to the chase!

In fact I've just made a GIF of one of DH's videos on Youtube off the back of this thread and sent it to him, in all its long-haired glory Grin

I almost forgot dd2 was on a kids tv show. They asked her to film herself dancing and they made a montage of it 😊😊 can't remember what the programme was called.

Mammyloveswine · 03/02/2019 11:24

I was in the audience of Jeremy Kyle... worked in an office at time and one of the mangers rang me all excited telling me are had just seen me on the telly. It still gets repeated every now and again and I get tagged on people's Facebook.

I was also on a bbc quiz show that was not on very long... beat the pack. I was most annoyed the bbc wouldn't let me wear false eyelashes or high heels... I insisted on wearing wedge heeled boots and hair extensions.. Grin

BIL was a child on “Child’s Play” in the 80s, if anyone remembers that!

hatethinkingofusernames · 03/02/2019 12:16

I was on the chase a couple of months ago 🤣

hatethinkingofusernames · 03/02/2019 12:21

Oo just seen you applied good luck!

YouLikeTheBadOnesToo · 03/02/2019 12:23

I was on 50:50 as a kid. Just had to sit there though, didn’t get called on to do anything (thank goodness!)

DH’s friend has been on loads of game shows. The Weakest Link, Release The Hounds and Tipping Point. He’s on the current series of coach trip too. I suspect he really wants to be famous Grin

Someone I know recently had their house renovated on DIY SOS although the show hasent been down yet,

x2boys · 03/02/2019 12:32

My sister's ex boyfriend from many years ago was a not very successful actor, I spotted him on classic corrie a few weeks ago Grin

Oh my DD was on CBeebies “l can cook” after they came to her school to do auditions about 7 yrs ago.

It was a boiling hot day, they didn’t provide the children with any food, kept retaking scenes expecting 5 year olds to keep doing the same thing with the same level of enthusiasm over and over. The director was off I’ll so they drafted one in from Eastenders who clearly hated children and reduced them to tears. I threatened to leave with DD halfway through the day when they complained about her hair being too fine and keep falling out of the ponytail style.

They got NOTHING at the end of the day. Didn’t even get to keep their aprons.

I would never let her do anything like that again unless she got some handsome reward for it!

DH used to work with a couple who actually met as contestants on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. One of them won £15k I think, the other I can’t remember.

Elderflower14 · 03/02/2019 17:15

I've been on 15 to 1. I got to quite near the end! Also on Whatever You Want with Gaby Roslin. I was trying to win driving lessons'. I didn't!!

GreenShadow · 03/02/2019 18:15

I was on Flog It once.

It was quite funny as I'd only gone along to have an item valued for someone else whereas others were definitely there to be on telly. Then my one little item got selected to be filmed and sold and their bag of junk didn't.

It was very 'BBC' though in that they don't pay for anything - we still had to pay the usual costs of auctioning the item so final profit no where near as impressive as you'd think from watching the show. Quiet a cheap programme for them I guess.

A boyfriend of mine (from when we were in our teens) got pretty far on X-Factor about 10 years ago...

x2boys · 03/02/2019 18:51

Someone I used to work with Daugter, also got pretty far on the X factored 12\13" years ago ,judges house ,s not the live shows

My cousin was in some old Scottish film , I want to say whiskey galore but I don’t think that’s right . Something that involved a dance as she was a dancer ...

Other relatives took part in a documentary about Scottish highlands and hydro dams. One of these things you’d only watch if you were connected to it though as it wasn’t that interesting !

nervousbreakdown · 03/02/2019 19:09

Could have been Rockets Galore she was in actually ... time would have been about right as she was late teens at the time .

Cordillera · 03/02/2019 19:26

I was on Eggheads. Work were asked to field a team, I'd never heard of it before Blush This was about ten years ago. We made nail biting TV as we had loads of rounds at sudden death. We lost in the end.

Everyone was nice and friendly, the Eggheads seemed to be genuinely be into it.

MakeItAmazing · 03/02/2019 19:54

DS1 has been on the local news in a performance.

DD was on a programme about clever kids. One critic said she was the best thing about the programme. She did brilliantly.

I'd love to go on the chase or tipping point but won't in case a relative sees me Sad.

WishITookLifeSeriously · 03/02/2019 19:56

A colleague has been on Dinner Date.
She is now trying to destroy all evidence!

Otterses · 03/02/2019 19:59

I just remembered Blush

There was an E4 show last year called British Workers Wanted. It was filmed in my home town. I'm ashamed to say I knew and grew up with most people that were on it.

Mmmhmmokdear · 03/02/2019 20:06

TaMere is your DH Mr Motivator????

TaMereAPoilDevantPrisu · 03/02/2019 20:16

Haha no, not even close. he's not famous, he just had a job that involved being in the background on the TV every day.

spiderlight · 03/02/2019 20:20

A friend of mine was on Deal or No Deal a few years back and won quite a tidy amount of money. Another friend has been on Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience.

Redshoeblueshoe · 03/02/2019 20:38

Delores we saw your DH, I really enjoyed that episode
