Has anyone else had this virus

It seems to be making the rounds in my family

Headachy, foggy minded, achy body, dizzy and constantly drained.

You also feel not right but you can’t pin point what exactly is wrong.

Yes and nauseous. Currently on day 3

PatrickMerricksGoshawk · 29/01/2019 18:13

Flu.

ChickiePeaPie · 29/01/2019 18:16

Yes. Hissing sound in ears too. No cough or cold with it.

idlenook · 29/01/2019 18:28

I was about to post the same! Feel sort of okay when flat on my back in bed, but as soon as I get up and start trying to do anything I feel dizzy, drained and nauseus (running to the loo but not actually throwing up). Have started with pins and needles / achey joints now which is bloody marvellous Hmm

Flowers for all you sickly lot!

workworkworkworkworkk · 29/01/2019 18:30

Yes, I had it before Christmas which lasted weeks.

It's now back again 😭

Winnie2019 · 29/01/2019 18:31

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one as convinced myself it was something sinister!

Soubriquet · 29/01/2019 18:33

Well it’s reassuring to know it’s not just us but Flowers for everyone suffering

Yep. Feel like this too! My 2 year old also has been like this for a week 😭
Hope we all feel better soon!

caddywally · 29/01/2019 20:28

Me too! I think it's morphing into sinusitis, though ...

edwardcullensotherwoman · 29/01/2019 20:36

Yes! It's awful because you don't feel ill as such, just absolutely drained. I fell asleep after the school run every morning last week and woke at lunchtime Blush
Thanks and sympathy for everyone suffering!

mydoglovesme · 05/02/2019 19:14

Glad I found this thread as this describes exactly how I've been feeling for the last few days. How long did it last?

Soubriquet · 05/02/2019 19:29

Well I took ds to the doctors today as it’s been nearly 3 weeks...

Doctor said not to worry. It will eventually work it’s way out

Yes my son and I both had a weird dizzy virus before Christmas.

problem1234567 · 05/02/2019 19:33

I'm currently unwell but concerned at the frequency with which I seem to fall under the weather. Always cold viruses. I can have a couple of weeks being well and then fall ill again.
Yet I get more than the average amount of exercise and although I'm not a 'healthy eater' get enough fruit/vegetables.
I don't know why I'm so susceptible. Drives me nuts.

Afonavon · 05/02/2019 19:41

Yup, felt like I was starting a cold, then sinuses felt like my face was going to explode, dizziness and awful nausea. Couldn’t sleep either sure to a massive headache. It was awful, but all symptoms have gone aside from the dizziness. A few colleagues have been off work for over a week with it.

OfficeSlave · 05/02/2019 20:06

Yes! Two weeks of really terrible headache, dizzy, exhausted, aching and sore throat and generally not feeling right. No cough, snot or sneezing

Felt really terrible and when people asked what the matter was, i couldn't say! A lot of folk want a specific diagnosis or youre deemed not really ill. Weird one, but glad I'm not the only one!

mydoglovesme · 07/02/2019 18:03

How are you all now? Latest symptom to add in the mix is tinnitus in both ears. Did anybody take anything that helped with the dizziness?

Myusernameismud · 07/02/2019 18:07

Ohhhh how weird. I've been feeling odd for days now! Headache, dizzy, light headed and properly exhausted. I had a GP appt today and nearly mentioned it but thought I was just being over sensitive.

mydoglovesme · 07/02/2019 18:18

That sounds familiar, it's pretty horrible. Been nearly a week for me now and not really feeling any better. Went to the local shop today and was knackered afterwards.

Bowchicawowow · 07/02/2019 18:20

I have exactly this.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 07/02/2019 18:36

This is how I feel right now.
I assumed it was that I was struggling to recover from the fact I had two flu like infections in the space of a month.
Now it seems possible I have a third virus.
Yay.

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 07/02/2019 18:41

My kids have it. We are on day three. They also have a fever and stomach symptoms. And whine a lot. I’m VERY bored of it!!

cojmum · 07/02/2019 18:43

Yes, we've had lots of people at work sick with this, seems to be working it's way through the offices.

Myusernameismud · 08/02/2019 08:34

So has anyone else felt rubbish with is and then just...snapped? Like just completely lost it for no reason?
I've been feeling off for ages now, coupled with a horrible neck ache that will not shift. Yesterday when DH got home from work I was putting dinner on, and managed to empty an entire 2kg bag of pasta into a saucepan (and consequently all around the saucepan, on the floor etc). I'd been feeling a bit tearful all day and I just burst into tears about the pasta. Went and sat on the sofa, fell asleep withing minutes seemingly and when I woke up was really confused and groggy. I never doze off like that, and definitely not at 6.30 in the evening. DH was in the kitchen and I apologised for leaving him to clear up the mess, he just mumbled 'it's fine' which is a perfectly appropriate response, and I completely lost it. I turned into a raging screaming banshee and basically raged about everything and anything in a 5 minute period.

Thing is, that's not me. I'm not a particularly shouty person, and I've no idea why spilling a bag of pasta would turn me into one. After his initial shock, DH went upstairs for half an hour, then came back down, made me a tea and hugged me. I sobbed for ages.

I'm blaming it on the virus, because other than that I have no clue what could have triggered it. Its just not me. When I'm angry about something I quietly seethe and do lots of very aggressive housework. I don't really lose my shit about anything. I won't pretend I don't ever shout, but it's more of a frustrated 'where are your shoes?!' shouting. I'm not an angry shouter. I think it's freaked me out more than it has DH.

CurbsideProphet · 08/02/2019 08:38

My GP just called it a viral infection, but I had to lie down for 2 weeks and I still feel absolutely exhausted Sad
