Has anyone else had this virus

It seems to be making the rounds in my family

Headachy, foggy minded, achy body, dizzy and constantly drained.

You also feel not right but you can’t pin point what exactly is wrong.

Had this virus since monday. Fever/pouring with sweat, headache, cough, sneezing, can't taste.Aching teeth, dizzy. Coughed until sick last night. Feel like I've turned a corner but head is fuzzy as and weak as I haven't had a decent meal since last sunday.

Feel for fellow sufferers.

Singlenotsingle · 08/02/2019 23:29

Coughing, sneezing, achey, nosebleeds. Then pain across stomach from too much coughing, so scared to cough. Hmm

ohheyfreakingout · 08/02/2019 23:36

Oh god I’m a bit scared now that it’s going to get worse!
I’ve only had a froggy throat, ear pressure, dizzy weird off balance feeling and shakiness with the muscle stuff and tiredness
Some of you sound like you’ve really been through the ringer with the sinuses and fever on top
I’m hoping that the fact one of my
Glands is up means that I’m fighting the worst of it off

Wishing you all very very speedy recoveries

CurbsideProphet · 08/02/2019 23:36

I'm sorry everyone else is suffering, but I'm also a bit relieved I'm not the only one. I've been back at work this week, but I'm not sleeping well which isn't helping my drained feeling.

ohheyfreakingout · 08/02/2019 23:44

@curbsideprophet the drained feeling is awful - even after sleep I still feel pretty shaky and weird jusy from doing normal everyday things lie walking into town
Thought I was going to collapse the other day

ohheyfreakingout · 09/02/2019 09:31

Tentatively hoping I’m feeling a bit better - I think today is the first day I’ve not woken up with a foggy, dully achey head... hope I haven’t spoken too soon!

IJustLostTheGame · 09/02/2019 09:33

I had this!
I felt completely removed from reality for three days, thanks to buzzy ears and fogged brain.
It was surreal.

ohheyfreakingout · 09/02/2019 09:46

@ijustlostthegame YES that’s the perfect way to describe the ear thing - buzzy with pressure inbetween

itsnnothere · 09/02/2019 09:52

Yes, me! Before Xmas I got the hacking cough, then I got the cold after Xmas, I've had awful headaches, muffled ears - cough still lurking around, insomnia and strange dreams, nausea, low mood, brain fog - can't concentrate and feel miserable for no reason.

I'm over it now after 6/7 weeks, but still not myself- foggy headed, not sleeping well and I'm feeling headachey and nauseous some days like I've got a hangover - but I've not had any alcohol.

I wondered if I'm depressed or run down but having read this thread I can see that it's the after effects of this weird virus.

So, what's the cure? Do we all need a holiday?

Serialweightwatcher · 09/02/2019 10:58

PutYourShirtOnMartin So sorry it affected you like that - it's sending my already horrendous anxiety stupid and I've spent the morning crying again ... yesterday I was shaking so much I thought I'd combust but then I had a glass of milk and a piece of chocolate and it went off a bit but woke up again this morning feeling like all the stuffing knocked out of me .. I think I'd feel more comfortable having the cold symptoms to be honest because then it would make more sense to me.

Hoping everyone feels better soon Flowers

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 09/02/2019 11:06

Serial - yes it was all to do with my long standing anxiety. DH and I Sussex the combination of being ill, little sleep, still working and unable to eat for so long on top of stress and anxiety was the cause. I peaked on the Friday night and as DH was home all weekend we decided to just stay home..keep warm and cuddle a lot. If I still felt the same Monday to GP and obviously if worse then get help over weekend.
Monday came and everything was in colour again

I hope you feel better soon...cuddling helps xx

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 09/02/2019 11:07

Sussex = sussed!

TwoM · 09/02/2019 11:12

Yes, had same with fever too.

ohheyfreakingout · 09/02/2019 14:01

Thought I would go for a walk with DH as I was feeling a bit better. BIG MISTAKE. Got about half way round and felt like there was roaring in my eyes and felt so weird and dizzy and like I might just keel over.
This virus is horrid

ohheyfreakingout · 09/02/2019 18:22

@serialweightwatcher hope you’re feeling a bit better now. I got really freaked out today too. I would prefer a full blown cold as well, as this is quite scary and not like anything else I’ve had

user1457017537 · 09/02/2019 18:32

Me. I was so nauseous that I couldn’t take pain relief and have not had any food for 3 days. Can’t stomach anything accept water. And the headache, it’s horrendous. Now I have a chest infection.

SpoonBlender · 09/02/2019 18:32

Three weeks of it, six days off work. Finally turned the corner on Monday, still a bit throaty and snotty but it was like winding back from being 70 to being 30 years old again!

Zandra123 · 09/02/2019 18:36

I started Tuesday with it, the bit really bothering me is the sinus, teeth ache in one side, anyone any ideas to help it?

user1457017537 · 09/02/2019 18:45

I ache all over and can barely walk downstairs. I don’t care what anyone says it must be flu!

WellVersedInEtiquette · 09/02/2019 18:55

@Zandra123 I used warm clothes and massaging my face. It didn't do much. I had awful toothache at the back on both sides. It all came out at one point. It was horrible.

ohheyfreakingout · 09/02/2019 19:34

I haven’t experienced the sinus/tooth ache I’ve only got sniffles and occasional sneezing mine seems to be ears and balance related but when I had really bad sinus problems - this is going to sound mad - as well as inhaling vicks vapour rub melted into a bowl of boiling water with a towel over my head, I also smeared t liberally over the soles of my feet then put socks on top when I went to bed. it’s an old wives tale apparently and might have been mind over matter but it really helped

MissMarplesKnitting · 09/02/2019 19:40

Got what feels very flu type buy not do severe.

Achy, shivery, my legs hurt like I've run a few miles. Teeth hurt. Utterly exhausted. Doing anything is a real effort. Added the joy of nausea and the trots this afternoon.

I hate winter and wish I'd had a flu jab if this is what it feels like.

Aberforthsgoat · 10/02/2019 17:47

Oh just started a thread on this such a relief to see this thread I have felt like I’m going mad or something is really wrong with my nervous system!

Shaky, wobbly, off balance feel like I might collapse when I go for a walk and the weirdest sensation in my head/ears
Also so so so tired. think I could sleep for a week and still wake up exhausted

How long does it take this thing to bugger off?? Has anyone been given anything for it?

Realitea · 10/02/2019 18:16

I had this yesterday but it seems to have lifted a bit today. Now Dd has it and is really suffering. Headaches, dizziness, nausea, hot and cold but no runny nose or cough. I hope it goes quickly! She’s gone to bed already, poor thing

Tiggles · 10/02/2019 19:27

I am do glad to realize this is a virus. Was trying to work out why I was still feeling travel sick after someone gave me a lift nearly a week ago!
Terrible dizzy spells. I knocked over all the wine in church this morning!
