Share your baby names that you weren't quite brave enough to use!

I love the name Winter but I feel it's a bit more "out there" than Summer or Autumn so I'm not brave enough to use it Plus it would sound awful in the country I live in.

I also love Rocco but that was vetoed by DH!

What unusual baby names were you not quite brave enough to use?

I wanted Clemency for a girl, was vetoed.

I loved the name Holly but couldn't use it - not with the surname of Wood

I love the name Ariadne but it just didn't feel right for my little girl in the end. It seemed like a lot of name to live up to.

Susan - was told it was too boring but I think it is lovely
Titus - tight ass
Rohan - too Middle Earth
Constance - Great Aunt's name on DH side

Dylan - for a girl (had DS1 instead)
Sloane - for a girl (had DS2 instead)

My boys both have surnames for firstnames though, one of which is relatively unheard of.

Forrest was always on my list. That was a no from DH

Gulliver. Was rejected as it is a surname but I still like it. I never had a boy though.

Forrest is a cool name! I also like Aspen but wouldn't be brave enough for that one either!

Margot, Frieda, Romy, Ingrid and Romily were on my list bit a bit too much for DH

No DCs yet but the names I'm definitely not brave enough for but love:

Omg, one of your boy's names is one that we will probably call our DS if we have one! It's a very brave choice and I don't dare tell anyone because I don't want their negative opinions putting us off.

I was upset when the subject of baby names came up with DH's family and he threw out the name (not related to us, just in general) and one of his cousins laughed

Hector and Valentina. My DH vetoed Hector anyway. He did like Valentina but also felt it was a bit too much and doesn't go with our last name.

We also both really liked Madeleine, but our last name is McCann...

We rather liked Gunner, but vetoed it on the grounds we weren't remotely cool enough to pull it off 😅

I think I'm the only one who would ever admit to liking the name Saint for a boy (a la Kim Kardashian) I'd never be brave enough to use it though.
